So I tried an Ai that was free I think and it had an option in the HUD. laptop crashed before I could test it but I think it has like a 100000 credit cap so maybe use it and out replies on low credits?

I see, and thank you for writing a long comment. But you must understand AI service is not free at most time. And you can Google for free API instead of asking me for it.

I use DeepSeek as correct AI, its awesome and cheap. It is no exaggeration to say that a cent can last for nearly one months. So I recommend this one, you can try it.

Man, I was really hoping to use this to deal with the current loses of vrc friends being a bunch of idiots and unfriending without reason. I've tried to customize the ai prompt to even see if it'll work but no. it just remains as it was originally set. and it requires an damn API key to even chat with one of the npcs with this on. Not Fun

This mod is okay but it feels very limited for many reasons. From what I can understand this isn't a simple subscribe and use as this mod has the ability to use different AI Models from ChatGPT to Silicon Flow but requires a AI Model's API key which many require payment to even use. If you don't provide an API key then the dialogue with the NPC doesn't work and will inform you of the requirement.

On top of that the Customization is VERY limited. You can change the names of NPCs and select a deck for yourself (or camp), but you can not customize anything else outside of that. You can not customize specific decks or create custom ones, you can not do custom traits or change up default ones and you can not select/remove traits from decks as well. The same even applies to Active NPC traits.

The AI Prompts do nothing and follow a preset of Prompts (All of which are just Half-life 2 related), So changing them will do nothing. Without an API key, you won't get much from this mod at all.

Hey, I REALLY enjoy this mod and look forward to see it grow. I just wanna ask, will we be able to make our own Decks in the future and make our own preset lines for NPCs to feel even more alive and individual from each other, and for our own character? I think that'd help customization plenty, both in terms of AI dialogue and in terms of seeing how characters react to things happening in the map!

When I switched the names to be something more unique the issue stopped happening

If an the player has any addon with a file called "init.lua" with or without code in the autorun folder then the bug occurs

I figured out why I was getting the attempt to index global 'GLOBAL_OFNPC_DATA' (a nil value)
I still had one of my addons that I made enabled in the addons folder but I also dug a little bit deeper and figured out what causes the error
