As 'Rise' said, it's for the arms to appear. In my experience with using the Modern Warfare animations for the Carriable Items that also use a script to include arms, you can absolutely use these while playing on Dedicated Servers (Certainly Official ones, at least), but it's going to cause issues joining Local Servers if the Host and/or all other Players don't have the same mod or the appropriate 'sv_consistency' value to avoid a return-to-menu inconsistency.
You won't have to worry about that for the Cola & Gnome Chompski items as they got arms in The Last Stand update (Maybe if Valve feels like giving Left 4 Dead & Left 4 Dead 2 any "20th Anniversary" treatment come 2028-2029, they'll decide to grant these items arms as well as hopefully address remaining oversights such as the MP5 firing audio being annoyingly stuck at 22050Hz).
