@Zarahustra could it be some interactions with the court mage position that somehow would create this weird loop?
It really only happen with Higher mysteries
is there a tutorial?

Odd, because I don't create that position in my mod.

I doubt it's a load order thing, I have put your mod at the bottom of the playset, so it shouldn't cause problem. Looking at the crash log, there is a reccuring error saying that your mod is trying trying to create a duplicate for the antiquarian position, which lead to a crash eventually.
The problem really began since the last AGOT ( and then LoV) update

[11:21:48][E][court_position.cpp:646]: Attempted to create a duplicate court position of position 'antiquarian_court_position'

I know of the drama bewteen you and LoV, and the end, you owe nothing to anyone, but it's kind of a shame that there is major incompatbilities between 2 mods that are very close.

Is there anyway I can fill up all the bars in the Acolyte trait and learn all the spells through a debug command or something like that?

That will be a load order problem. Frankly, given that I have a rather poor relationship with the LOV devs, I don't care one way or another what is happening with their mod.

It appear the mod really need an update for the recent AGOT and LOV updates, because right now, you can't appoint anyone to the court mage position, and there is a super annoying bug with the travel when you try to do any activity, your character will be sent on the bottom corner of the map

I have secrets at the bottom of my playset, and only use AGOT, AGOT +, the submod core, LOV, dragonpen for sukes and this mod.

This bug isn't really the problem rn, it's more the constant crash. every 5 minutes the game CTD, itb seems it dosen't like when there is an activity running, it's unplayble for the moment. I may try a new game, as LOV just updated, maybe it has fixed this issue idk

Blood sacrifice activities, kill one of your prisoners for drops of power ( it seems you get more if the target is noble, and you definitly get more if you have magic adepts participating in the activities)

Your court mages can also generate drops of power, and lastly, once you get the "touched by the stars" perks, you will get a passive +1 drop of power income

What are ways you can actually gain drops of power without using console commands? That's the only thing I'm unclear on now

For me atleast I can choose other ones to learn aswell, so maybe a loadorder or submod conflict for u?. For example this mod is below Legacy of Valyria in my playset. or maybe there is some other requirement?

angelbread22 Wait until you get the Kinslayer trait because you sacrifice on of your kids by mistake in a ritual (I jailed him because of the stupid spying pop up I didin't pay much attention to)

When your spell misfire, it can have some nasty effects too, best case you just wasted your mana, worse, you can get a mutation ( bad traits) like hunchback, bleeder, or it can downgrade on your traits, I had a ruler that got from genius to quick like that :/ I think you can get killed too if you're really bad at magic ( level in higher mysteries I guess?)

Sorry for bothering again, there is still some things I don't fully understand,

When I go for the study magic activity, I cannot pick anything else than "Higher mysteries", if I try to select a specific school of magic, the activity is greyed out (cannot launch), is this a bug on my part?

It would be nice to be able to concentrate on a specific school of magic for your mage instead of the pure RNG.
Concerning the blood magic spells, some effects aren't very clear in the description, like the enhanced blood (cost 1) does it add some points to skills randomly?
With the specific skills enhancements, I use to cast it on my kids, but in the notifications, it say that I get the improved skill, not my kid.

Last thing, I don't konw if it's possible, but maybe adding a cap on many people can take part in the blood sacrifice activity could be good, because if you get like 20 peoples participating the game will crash because of all the notifications in the event window for each participant.

Hello! I was wondering if there's something like a passive learning from your mage master for apprentices. Or passive teaching, I suppose. It also might be useful to have a "study all" button as sometimes it can be really tedious to teach each mystery or scroll individually. And there doesn't seem to be a downside to learning magic.

Given the rather acrimonious seperation between myself and LOV, (I was their coding lead, and project manager) the mechanics I had begun to write for Asshai magic sadly won't ever see the light of day.

This mod has 0 to do with Asshai. It only is built against the AGOT base mod.

NPC's will only use appropriate magic. IN time I will let them use more in the combat system, and to fight dragons. But doing more than that is a real limit with the AI.

There are many features of CK3 that the AI simply cannot use.

Hi thanks for this amazing mod, little question i cannot find any answer for :

Is it possible to learn and do magic in Asshai? When i play as Elyria, there no POI there to study magic, is it only avaible if you have enough diplo range? or do you have to play as Asshai to be able to study there?

last question, when I do magic studies, I can only select higher mystery, and never a specific magic school is it intended?

thanks for making such a cool mod, but it seems that very little, if any npc ever has the acolyte trait or uses magic at all. It sort of makes using magic feel like cheating. Am I just doing the mod wrong or...

Magic can be found in several pre-set locations around the world. Look for the little burning book icon and the POI on the map. When you find a magic scroll it will unlock the magic window on the left side of the screen from where you can manage the learning of magic.

Hi, first, thanks for this mod, it looks very intresting and complete! I have a few questions, I'm completly lost on how to get to learn magic, I understood that i should visit the ruins in Valyria, but when i do a pilgrimage, it dosen't show me the magic book icons, only the regular vailla pilgrimage icons for holy sites

So new UI features next update, the removal of the magic interaction and the addition of several new UI features.

If you use my Province Window Mod, you will be able to target provinces/counties in magic casting directly from the province view window.

Otherwise, you can target a character from the outliner, or from a new button on the top of the interaction window.

This means there is no confirmation window for casting mysteries as that is all done in the mystery window. It also means there has been some clean up of windows when you begin the process of casting a mystery.

It will be coming later tonight. I expect that I have missed some localisation and other little bits, but the code is stable and I have reduced the number of errors in my log to around 50 or so loc related issues.

Is there a way to add the magic trait to preexisting characters? I've been able to add it to characters made in the creator but none of the already existing ones, or find a way for them to study magic or gain the trait.

Just found this mod, waiting for the update before playing around with it too much, but looking forward to trying it out! :D

I am expecting to post an update this coming weekend. Please be advised, I have done a major refactor of all mysteries to help streamline the process of adding new mysteries. This means that when this update drops on Sunday, European time, it will be very deleterious to all current saves.

AGOT's patch today was incompatible with save games as they changed the way dragon data was stored. I am currently trying to update the mod (steam is being a pain) but you are going to need to start a new save game.

There is a problem. This mod turns all dragons (even adult ones) into puppies and lower their statistics
