will this work for the base game?

Updated for AGOT 0.4.5, I slightly increased the cancer of getting CANCER when you are 70 + years old.

I also lowered the deadliness of some traits.

Updated for AGOT 0.4.3.3, I tweaked a few areas, this still remains a lightweight mod that only edits a few files and is safe to add and remove from plays.

I'm still trying to make the perfect balance for character health, but I think I got the pregnancies down to a good point.

Just this mod is needed, save should work, as it only edits defines.

Do I need to have your mod from vanilla enabled for this to work while I'm playing AGOT, or just this mod? Also does this mod work in an already existing game?

Hey just so everyone knows put this mod under any of mine to make sure you get its effects,
Gropy  [author] Mar 20 @ 12:24am
After 80 years of playing, no great house has gone extinct yet.
Gropy  [author] Mar 18 @ 11:43pm
Oh right, you'll probably have to make your own local mod, or change another mods files to keep it.
Miketantinople Mar 18 @ 7:35pm
Hey there, thanks for the reply. I've never tried to change the game files before and I found the line you posted. But every time I changed it, the game automatically change it back to default stats when I start the game. How do I save these changes?
Gropy  [author] Mar 17 @ 8:59am
Yes, but im unsure how "spammy" it would be, would be fun to try in one playthrough haha.

In the file "00_defines" there is a line that goes

BASE_NR_OF_CHILDREN_PER_COUPLE = { 1 1 2 3 5 5 } # Based on tier of character or parents; whichever is higher Unlanded, Baron, Count, ..., Emperor

Which means, unlanded characters get 1 kid, barons get 1, count get 2, duchy get 3, kings 5 emperors 5.

And then there is a few external modifiers that can increase and decrease it, but for a normal couple the max is (emperor title) 5 kids + 2 (player) + 2 (title) = 9.

It's also why you see you suddenly get children again when one of your children dies.

But changing the numbers to 10 or 15 would be interesting.
Miketantinople Mar 17 @ 8:50am
Is it possible to remove the child cap for untitled characters completely?
Gropy  [author] Mar 17 @ 8:42am
Also the chance for twins got increased from 2% to 4%, which should increase children % aswell

If anyone reads the AGoT books, they'll see how many twins there is in that series lmao.
Gropy  [author] Mar 17 @ 8:40am
I understand, I think the solution would be to have more children, but everyone dies more often?

The issue right now, is in vanilla, if a character doesn't have a title they can MAX get 3 children, the amount of children characters get is hardcoded. In vanilla you'll never see a couple have more than x children (unless player, who can get +2 or if more than 1 wife).

I changed it so a rulers brothers and sisters also have a chance to produce more children, which should in theory stablize it more?

But if you only want a lower life expectancy and deadly wounds, you can change the files yourself, its only a few lines.

Hi there, I really like the idea of this mod. I'm tired of playing someone into their 70s and still health af and I want my character to die faster so I can play the heir but all the other houses are quite easy to go extinct which kinda breaks the immersion a little bit. So Is it possible to have a "Lite" version of this mod? just the chance of dying from old age and more deadly wounds perhaps? Thanks!
Gropy  [author] Mar 16 @ 12:12pm
Why would they go exting? The most likely outcome is a brother or sister takes over.

But it is a fair concern, I'm about to start a playthrough and see how likely it is.
Shattered Tian Mar 16 @ 11:49am
I like everything about this mod, except for the no guaranteed children for title holders. I don't prefer houses with lineages that goes back to the age of heroes to be simply extinguished.
Gropy  [author] Mar 16 @ 11:35am
Try it and tell me your experience!

Looking for something like this in AGOT
