that's interesting, and if you could share your game log after the crashed game I'd gladly look at it - if possible, of course (this'd help me to understand which parts would need updating) :greasemonkey:

I think this is causing crashes in 1.55. Not a complaint just an observation.

I already packed up a "testbed" with some tractors and rural parameters but now the longest part begins since I need to test their spawn abilities inside natural game conditions to be sure I won't scam anyone (and myself too :greasysideup:) with such upcoming update

I guess I'll conduct some tests with this rural condition and see how it goes, and in case of positive result it'll be included into this mod in some proper (/logical) way

Was working on my mods and decided to pass here again and confirm that rural conditions do exists (but rural tag doesn't). SCS really needs to work on those conditions and tag clearer

I really hope for a rework from SCS side too, and it's about to come someday because in day to day AI traffic rework feels ever more crucial :summer2019attack:

anyway, I'm roaming without excessive urban-limitations being ready to face the harvesters right in the middle of highway just because it's fun :longhaul:

That's fair, I forgot about the expressway in non-urban area, such a shame. Either way, it was just my own assumption that's rural spawn condition is not defined. Maybe it exists in the game and SCS just doesn't want to use. Still gotta hope for a rework of the traffic rules overall soon to remove such limitations from mods like these.

so if it's non-urban - it's gonna spawn on highways, that's the problem... I cannot make them spawn in the coutryside only or small towns... using "urban" condition is currently the only way to ban slowpokes from the speedways

they already have that rural tag but it doesn't work as banishment at all

@PikPikker You could try using "!" for "urban" to make them not spawn on urban areas. The vehicle.sui from SCS itself looks rather messy (like there is rural tag but I don't see any urban tag is used, while there is a spawn condition for urban areas but none for rural). I'm also unsure whether SCS just don't use it or if those are not defined, but at least negative spawn conditions have had it defined already.

I'm actually testing the city bus in my own builds, and the point of the school bus I like too! I'll add it into my testing version and see how it goes - and if it's all cool, I'll update the mod with new vehicles :car:

Thank you very much for sharing it, I have a question, do you think that in the future you can add the school bus and the new city bus that came out in 1.54? the school bus I saw only once in my life in oklahoma about 2 years ago and the new bus I have only seen parked in depots.

Why is there a Gator driving on the interstate or in a city? Makes this mod unplayable unless you're driving in only rural areas.

I don't play much especially lately so yes, before that kind of mods I've seen them last time like years and years ago, and some of them were never seen by me at all

also when they spawn that rarely as they do by SCS they don't get any traffic jam troubles but they do thanks to my mod - and this is what makes sense for me (and possibly other drivers as I read their feedbacks)

of course I 'simplified" the description a little because otherwise there would be a whole book of description which I don't feel like writing provided I don't have a lot of PC time lately

Some of these already spawn, but only on backroads and cities.

Such as the harvester, and tractor.
I've been stuck behind them a couple of times but they only spawn on speicfic roads in specific areas.

There's also a street sweeper that spawns in some cities, but only the cities.

With that being said, i don't know where you got the ''SCS never used them'' idea from.

SCS default traffic is a kind of an abstract structure because of limited variety and very primitive traffic spawn/rules definitions which are mostly impossible to fix since the game does not support any scripting mods

you surely have a point there but it sounds pretty impossible for me to implement that... these tractors already have the "rural" tag but it doesn't work the way we need, and I didn't find anything inside game core files which would stricly limit them as those rural vehicles...

the only 'somehow-working' feature is city-limiting for now, and anyway adding new traffic categories is something I do not feel like implementing because it would need rewriting of some existing game files, while the current option works like a simple addition without any replacements

and after that, I'm working with (driveable) SCS models only and there is only one tractor model... I usually see construction tractors on the roads IRL and I wanted to bring them there on the roads in the game too, and for me these farm tractors doing this job very well just because there are no other options...

Farm equipment shouldn't be in any city unless it's being delivered to a farm implement dealership. Moving on it's own in the country in the fields or highways is good if on country roads. No interstate highways.
