Thanks to a modding tools update, the multiclass skill of the class you started with will now be locked. This goes for both AI and player.
I will soon have an update where AI and players alike will be disabled from picking same-class multiclass.
Cause it is a bit annoying, when they come with detrimental combinations. Like a Defender picking Defender multiclass.
However, I would encourage those who desire this change to make the change for yourself. It is relatively simple to delve into the mod files and change the skill point cost from 0 to 1 for personal use. Simply open the HeroClasses.rpk in the Resource Editor, navigate to the 4 "Archetype" (Fighter, Mage, Priest, Scout) dropdowns and modify the Class Selection Skills Skill Point cost."
1) Since I refund you a skill point when you go to select a multiclass, I cannot allow it to skill reset as it leads to a virtually unavoidable infinite skill point bug and making it cost 0 will cause every hero to always multiclass rather than some because it'll be seen as a free skill to the AI.
2) I will tell you as I told someone else. I have played every multiclass combo, and I find it a bit hard to believe that the chosen multiclass is "useless" and is moreso "not what I desired" which are two different things.
Due to coding limitations, this is one of those "you have to deal with the hand you are dealt" type situations.
Looks like you answered your own question. I don't make mods I would not play myself (which includes broken mods)
And as per my mod's description I said the limitations are so that "you aren't just the absolute best in the two classes you meddle with" and i have also said "non-penalized multiclassing was definitely a problem."
The reign-in update is not being reversed. Also, with your 30 extra skill points, you could easily select all nodes of both classes, pick all your signature skills, and your origin skills. If you have an extra 30 on TOP of that, then yeah, this mod is not for you.
sometimes development changes. anyways cheers.
@Inabyssia ah, an oversight. Ty for reporting. It happens when you pick Death Knight and multiclass into mage or spellblade (if I had to guess)
"Looks like I failed to mention you cannot undo a multiclass. I'll be sure to mention that in the multiclass hero skills and change the screenshot above to reflect that.
For clarification, if you multiclass into a class, any skills you choose from that class can be respec'd but you can't respec your multiclassing choice. This is a coding limitation at the moment."
we can still use any weapon with our primary class correct?
There was an issue where the -1 range on magic attacks were making it so certain dragon breaths could not be used, this has been fixed. Dragon Breaths have been excluded from the range malus.
If you look at the multiclass skills, you'll see that, at the bottom of the defender one, retaliator is listed as a skill you cannot obtain.
If you have Kaige's mod, I made a free strategic spell that you must cast to activate it's multiclass. When you activate it, it will affect all heroes, yours and AI alike. The Multiclass Tree for Kaige's will only appear after the turn you cast it. You cannot remove it once you cast it.
Only 1 multiclass is possible since the AI can't handle it
Yeah, make it happen please. AI multiclass option picks are kinda ridiculous.
