What mattered much more to me was creating a fun mod that people would actually want to play (and ideally as bug-free as possible ;) ).
I’d much rather hear from you how I can improve the mod or what I messed up, rather than the discussion drifting off-topic (even though the subject itself and your concerns are definitely very interesting - more like an academic question).
Abu Sa'id is a ruler who eventually takes control of the entire Empire and is also the grandfather of Babur, the founder of the Mughal Empire (hist story starts in Andijan).
I thought since that Abu Sa'id never really appears in-game and we don't know the actual ruler of Andijan at the time, placing him on the throne there would be an interesting solution—though, as I said, a bit of a stretch. But still, a fun twist for the region - an OPM run by an 'uber-strong' ruler-general.
I may consider removing Ferghana in future updates of the mod.
@Deep Thanks! I'm glad you like the mod.
That's a very good question, and it actually applies to all of the Timurid "vassal states"—Transoxiana, Afghanistan, and so on. Shah Rukh granted lands to his sons for governorship, but I think it's difficult to precisely define the borders of these governed territories or to call them 'states' in the proper sense.
The case of Ferghana is perhaps even more of a stretch. We know that Andijan and its surroundings were ruled by minor members of the Timurid dynasty, but it's unclear whether this was already the case in 1444, whether their rule was centralized, and how extensive it was (for example, whether it covered the entire "province"). It's also unknown who exactly governed the area at that time.
I have a question about Ferghana, I didn't find anywhere that it was a separate state then. Could you clarify, please?
Yes, this will be changed in 1.1 update of this mod.
Thanks for your input. I am currently focusing on ~Europe - but I would be more than happy to implement your suggestions in the future. Need to do my own research on the subject. Currently it's all a bit vague for me. :)
- Khodynt gets renamed 'Yukaghir'
- Chukchi gets moved to Kagyrgyn (owned by Chavchuveny rn)
- Chavchuveny gets moved to Penzhina (where Chukchi is rn) and is renamed 'Koryak'.
Koryak's flag gets changed to https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Flag_of_Koryak_Okrug#/media/File:Flag_of_Koryakia.svg
- Kamchadals gets renamed to 'Itelmens'
- Should be independent owning Paro and Punakha.
- Historical ruler/heir/consort, based on the Hungrel Dynasty of Paro:
RULER: 'Drung Drung' (4/3/3, Architectural Visionary) - Dynasty is Hungrel
HEIR: 'Namkha Gyeltshen' (3/4/2, Scholar) - Dynasty is Hungrel
CONSORT: 'Gedun Zangmo' (3/3/2, Calm) - Dynasty is Dakini
- Capital should be Paro until 1629, after that it moves to Punakha
TSANG:
- Tsang should only own Gyirong, Sakya, Shigatse. The rest of the provinces go to Ü (renamed U).
- Tsang's capital should also be in Shigatse instead of Lhasa.
- Tsang's starting ruler Norzang should be buffed - he was the founder of the Rinpungpa dynasty, in my mod he's 3/3/4 instead of 2/2/3.
Ü:
- Should have an umlaut on it's name (it's Ü not U)
- Should own Nedong (capital), Lhasa, Nyingchi, Nagchu, Damxung, Tsurphu.
- Should have cores on all of Tsang's provinces and (optionally) Bhutan.
- Add the historical heir, Kunga Lekpa (2/2/1)
Thanks!
