Hi AZ there will be better guide coming, but some QOL changes to the finale. the issue seems to be duration so terminals will be amended to 1, the concept was really the art of exploration and avoiding it being to linear; however, L4D2 is linear as you go from point A to B.

@Dirty Camper , I think he mistook the buttons for more supplies. Those buttons have a special method to open. But terminal buttons shouldn't be difficult to be found anymore, as now they glow from afar. Probably you can also add some instructor hints when players need to press either terminal 2 or terminal 3 button (like, "Look for the button for Terminal 2 somewhere" on instructor hint), as sometimes hints via chat can be missed.

hi there sorry that you didn't enjoy the game, and one thing iv'e learned is that you cannot please everyone. first few levels are supposed to be short otherwise you end up having a too long campaign. what button didn't trigger? from everyone iv'e seen and tested it there are no issues. i'm sure that some people wont enjoy it and thats fine, but seeing people play it spend hours trying to complete it with friends is what all that matters.

The first few levels are short, and there is no correlation between levels. The last level is infinite corpse tide, and there is no prompt, and the button can't be pressed. It's the most disgusting map I've ever seen

Hi Both i can of course reduce the damage on Lava, ill add that to the next changes.

In regards to a GTFO campaign i can of course consider this but its been a mixed bag some people love the style whereas others not so much, but its more to do with the theme of Egypt and GTFO which can make it out of place.

I don't think people hate it but don't understand where Map 4 fits in, so i have another L4D2 finale in final works which stays with the theme. this means managing both over 3 month period. After that i could potentially look at a GTFO style campaign, my next step is to do some testing with lighting similar to what is in GTFO and add this to map 4 so what we have is a close to possible GTFO experience.

The only thing I know about that kind of crash is that it happens only when someone is trying to connect mid-game. However, this does not happen if someone tries to connect while the server is at the loading screen. Maybe this will help you understand how that works better if you are not already aware of that

By the way, do you have, at least, a slight glint of an idea of making an entire GTFO campaign? Even if it would be short

That video was awesome :gtfoheart:, i love the comparison between GTFO and L4D2 and made me smile. i will continue to make updates were possible and getting to grips with string-directory and as i understand any changes to any maps it needs a new string update, this is because when the string directory is different version will crash players out.

An edited playthrough in Realism — Expert with text commentary in English and a guide on how to beat the finale (even before the QoL update)
Cannot say if the campaigns causes issues on dedicated servers after the recent updates, for we have played it before the updates. It worked (and still is working) completely fine on my heavily modded dedicated servers, but I have not updated it yet

A dictionary is a network protocol. Dedicated servers must use maps that overwhelm dictionaries. Otherwise the whole map will crash. You need a pressure dictionary every time you compile bsp. Otherwise, the dedicated servers can't play

hi there thanks for your feedback, most custom campaigns are run on local servers otherwise players can run into various issues, i would need to have a look if its possible to run on dedicated if that's what your'e trying to do. Stringtable was done in a previous update, can you confirm what map it's crashing on?

There will be some tweaks In December, alternate finale in development, will take a couple of days, once the alternate version is on it will be a building block to improve things like details

This map had the looks, but it was very buggy, especially in the final map. We will not be finishing this. Maybe if this gets reworked.

Yeah it's definitely a challenge, thanks for the feedback. Once I've done the alternate version of the finale there will be quality of life changes. One of them will be difficulty, adding more supplies. The standard l4d2 version is alot easier and after testing the duration of the finale is 7 - 8 mins (on normal). 2 hours is insane but I'm happy people are trying to complete the campaign 😎

yeah the last wave is difficult even worse on expert realism. you can do it on the first 3 maps but map 4 is a challenge. best advice would be to keep the Molotov's until the last wave and use pipe bombs to get rid of the infected. However if there is balancing issues i can add more supplies. about 75% on completion on the standard l4d2 finale but it will look totally different

Thanks for your feedback, the hordes are not infinite they are scripted. However progress is being made on the official finale. Once the finale is completed there will be a separate workshop campaign. Therefore players can choose between GTFO or L4D2 style. in regards to progress i am about 70% complete, but its very time consuming due to the work involved including: dismantling the existing layout and replacing it (i could just change the textures but that's a lazy route), this includes Nav Mesh, Detailing, Ambience, Supplies. Will it look good? I've put alot of work to give it a tomb/dungeon feel and want the survivors to feel like they really are in a tomb of terror. I will post pictures when i'm ready without giving to much away :steammocking:

First picture is now available to see of the new design, same bridge area dismantled but loads of area to manoeuvre as the swamp fever finale is a timer based, ammo, heath and supplies will be plentiful
