Here is a link to my mod pack for ME World Vikings US this is a way for you to play planet earth with most of the mods we currently have on the server in single player. It will show up as a avail scenario when you subscribe just choose it and play

This world works perfectly ! we are now on our second run of it on ME World Vikings US server it is important to note that if playing first time you need to make that size adjustment to the file described in the setup instructions This is a one time thing to get your world to its correct size Now if you play on a server such as MEWVUS you do not need to do this as I have already done it and the world will load correct size and you will first spawn in on the surface at one of my safe start areas This is a full featured world with all of the enhanced minerals built in and is a very accurate planet earth The fact that it is so big it gives players the ability to really spread out I have players world wide and we have really enjoyed playing in our native countries I can honestly say that this world plays as well as or maybe better than vanilla.

While following the World Setup Guide above, add a bed and claim it for singleplayer or place a "safe area" flag somewhere in the world if you are planning to play with friends. BTW ME-Vikings server started a new world with Planet Earth few days ago.

I was thinking about making ore maps but then decided not to do, because that would eliminate the survival element of finding the ores. Still, it is possible to see precise ore locations with a little bit effort; find the mod folder and look at the _mat.png files. Blue channel of the RGB code tells the ore type and those can be found in the EarthSecond.sbc file.

What are largest gold deposits, can you provide an easy heatmap for us all? I checked the EU documents but it is hard to judge what was actually implemented and what wasn't.
Might I suggest taking a photo of the heatmap for resources and posting it as part of the mods pictures? Would be very informative. Thank you dev

Full address would be:
C:\Users\[username]\AppData\Roaming\MedievalEngineers\Saves\[NameOfYourWorld]\Sandbox.sbc

You may need to check folder options and make sure hidden files are shown. Because AppData folder is hidden.

Alternatively press the Windows logo Key + R to launch the Run dialog box. Once the box opens, type %APPDATA% and press “Enter” Windows will directly launch the Roaming folder in the AppData folder.

Question. In the desc. it says to change view distance in ...AppData\Roaming\MedievalEngineers\Saves\[NameOfYourWorld]\Sandbox.sbc
I for the life of me can not locate these files. Would you have any other idea where save game files might be stored? I also looked in programs and progarms64 and checked my steam to see iff it set saves in a separate folder cant find anything (note: i do understand that different systems are structured differently but anything helps)

Then save the game again.

Ore Update

- Added ores: Large Gold, Silver, Tin, Copper and Iron ore patches are added using real earth mineral source maps. Additionally small Iron, Copper and Tin ore patches are added using noise generator to everywhere for gameplay purposes.
- Modified water texture color (feedback would be helpful).
- Increased oyster and seaweed (on beaches) density.
- Reduced area highlight height, which is shown when building, by 66%.
- Added a new grid block count levels with new icon, making the total of 6.
-- Very Small Grid: 10 blocks
-- Small Grid: 60 blocks
-- Medium Grid: 300 blocks
-- Large Grid: 1200 blocks
-- Very Large Grid: 3600 blocks
-- Huge Grid: 7200 blocks

Ore update is in progress. Real world mineral maps will be used for big patches of all ore types. Noise-generation will be used for small patches of iron, copper and tin ores.

Roads Update 2:

Added roads to whole planet but these are only road textures over heightmap unlike previous roads.

Currently I am working on "Roads Update 2" which is almost complete. (It will cover entire planet but unlike previous road update, this will have road texture on map without editing heightmap. Still, most of the roads follow flatlands, valleys, less steep slopes of the hilly terrain.)

If all goes as planned, ore update should be completed in the next month.

Game automatically builds map cache when you create new world but if that didn't happen for some reason or maybe delayed, you can delete all files in this folder:

C:\Users\[your_user_name]\AppData\Roaming\MedievalEngineers\Map\

I removed this mod from my game but the map (when you press M) won't go back to the ME map.How do I change it back?

Most likely I will place ores manually instead of using noise, with compromise between gameplay and realism in mind.

I want to thank you for adding sources for how you've collected all of the data! I've been working on a world building project that requires a lot of high quality data of the Earth, but I've been in a rut for about a year now. Thanks to you and the sources you have posted I've got my creative spark back!

I am looking forward to playing on this map and seeing how it progresses! I am also curious as to how you plan to implement ore generation, are you planning on using real world data?

So I did this thing cuz im kind of a jerk. I made my planet earth actual size. fast traveling is very dangerous lol. hard to tell if you will spawn in the middle of hte ocean or not and will die several times until it spawns you on land. i did have trouble creating the world with any mods other than planet earth installed though. so created it with just planet earth just to look around. it's awesome. I set it to lifesize with view distance of 400 miles, since that is how high the ISS is. but i can't fly that high apparently. im imagining having dog sleds and holding dog sled races online. that would be awesome. can't wait til this is finished and i can add other mods to it without any issues. would love to host a lifesize planet just to see what people do.
