Exp from building is really really horrible idea. You should quickly change it.

@Ardúnadan More or less. I'm going to split Memento Mori into several separate mods so that people can pick and choose which features they want.

@irlVector Hey. I'm glad to hear that you're enjoying the mod.

I'm a little hesitant to add such a perk as that would make any existing perks that grant skill increases less desirable to unlock. However, I've been experimenting with a new interface feature that lets you convert perk points between Lifestyles. I'm not sure when it will be ready to be released, but it's something I've been working on.

@Cobr4a^ I only ever use Better Barbershop by agami. What you're seeing is just a lot of time (too much time) spent finding the right scene, lighting and character preset.
Ardúnadan Oct 24 @ 8:12am
was momento mori discontinued?
irlVector Oct 23 @ 10:38am
Hello, great mod!! I use it all the time lately, however I would like it if you considered designing a node for each lifestyle that you can take repeatedly if you have excess skill points in a lifestyle but don't want to take any new passives. I've found myself many times having leftover skill points in learning, for example, that I don't really have any use for so they just stay there as 1 on the GUI and my OCD is driving me crazy whenever I look at it hehe

Which mod do you use for portrait of this MOD ? She looks beautiful....

Veritas and Hiraeth are fully compatible. They do not conflict with each other in any way. And yes, I created Hiraeth and Taberna. I'm currently working on an updated version of the latter.
zkahnman Oct 4 @ 6:37pm
idm, I saw a page back that Hiraeth isnt compatible with Veritas? (and that you are the author of Hiraeth??). That would be sad as I think of Hiraeth as a core mod for me along with witchcraft :(

Out of curiosty did you make Taberna as well?
zkahnman Oct 4 @ 6:31pm
omg @Proxima-b; now I can use Veritas, ILY

Paradox never implemented anything like AI weights for Lifestyle Perks. At least they were never exposed for modders to use. Also good work creating a patch. I'm sure many will appreciate it.
Proxima-b Sep 30 @ 9:24pm
How does AI pick those trait?
I don't see an AI weight system in the file.
Proxima-b Sep 30 @ 9:21pm
I made a compatch between witchcraft and veritas https://steamcommunity.com/sharedfiles/filedetails/?id=3577848910
Proxima-b Sep 30 @ 12:46pm
When using mod that add new lifestyles, such as witchcraft, some lifestyle buttons are unclickable.
Putting Veritas above witchcraft would fix the UI problem, but all Varitas perk will lose their effects.

Veritas has now been updated for game version 1.17. As previously mentioned, this update also comes with a major content update, adding over 60 new perks to the mod. Extensive balance and gameplay changes have also been made to existing perks, with the Wandering Lifestyle seeing the most changes. I've also given the Adventurer side of the mod another design pass, and they now also have several new and unique perks to choose from.

Leave a comment if you have any thoughts or if you find any issues. Have fun people.

Hey everybody. I've been working on a major content update for Veritas for the past few months that I plan to release alongside the 1.17 update. This means that the update for 1.17 will be slightly delayed as I'm still finishing up some of the new content. The current version of the mod should still work fine in the meantime.
idm  [author] Aug 2 @ 2:49pm
No, but it is highly recommended. Several perks have additional effects if both are used at the same time. There is also a perk in the Stewardship Lifestyle that only makes sense with Quando Sumus installed.
Muse Aug 2 @ 1:27pm
Does this ACTUALLY require the decisions mod?
idm  [author] Jul 31 @ 11:23am
@Rafael I'm not sure. Try moving Veritas to the end of your playset. It could be due to a compatibility conflict.

@raven This will be fixed in the next update.
Rafael Jul 19 @ 8:56pm
Mod is great but unfortunately I often find perk points missing when I inherit wih new ruler. I.e. game is showing 3 pers available but I only can spend 2 points.
cindercatz Jul 18 @ 2:02pm
Sounds great. ) Looking forward to it.
raven Jul 18 @ 9:17am
When using a mod that adds new commander traits, the 'Strategos' perk in the Martial tree cannot be 'bought' because of the tooltip covering the screen. Btw, im loving this mod! Way better than vanilla.
idm  [author] Jul 17 @ 3:59pm
@cindercatz Thanks for the kind words. I may look into creating such patches in the future. I know people have long wanted a patch for RICE and Hiraeth as well.

@Soyut I'm not sure. Give it a try.

@finallyciv I saw your Quando Sumus comment as well. Nice work.
cindercatz Jul 14 @ 7:04am
@idm
Love this mod. On the GUI issue, I've run Veritas and More Lifestyles together with the mod Scrollable Lifestyle Window, and it solves the issue for me. Load SLW later in the load order. ML is still in the vanilla tree style, but they work fine together. (I haven't played 1.16 with them yet though, just about to.) I would love to see a patch for them that converts ML to the Veritas style and maybe balanced them for it, if you find that interesting enough. Goes for all the other lifestyle mods, really. This mod's gold imo.
Soyut Jul 14 @ 7:03am
I want to use it with A Game of Thrones. Is it enough for me to just add this mod at the end? Does the AGOT mod add extra perks? Is there a need for a compability patch?

@idm
If I load your mod higher up in the load order, all the perk names and descriptions disappear, becoming blank.
Additionally, with your other mod, Hiraeth - Dynasty Legacies Overhaul, when it’s placed higher in the load order, the interface gets messed up.
I really appreciate your creativity and ideas, but the current compatibility issues make it hard for me to keep using them. I’m looking forward to your optimizations and improvements!
idm  [author] Jun 6 @ 10:35am
They all make changes to the same gui file. A compatibility patch would be needed.

However, a temporary solution is to move both of those mods after Veritas in your playset. This should solve the issue you're having. Keep in mind that the interface changes made by Veritas will not carry through if you go this route.
织田信长 Jun 3 @ 12:26pm
Hello, author! This mod is fantastic and very creative; I love it. However, I’d like to report an important issue.
Before trying this mod, I was using More Lifestyles and Witchcraft, which add three additional Lifestyles. After adding this mod, I noticed a problem: when trying to switch Lifestyle focus, the interface at the top only shows 8 options instead of the expected 9. Even more critically, the two options at the edges (the leftmost and rightmost) cannot be clicked—they’re disabled!
Could you please fix this issue, author? Otherwise, I won’t be able to continue using this mod.
bsj3210 Jun 3 @ 7:00am
It's a really good mod! But it's such a shame that the Worldly Knowledge have disappeared from the adventure stewardship. I wish I could change one puck.
vukh May 29 @ 3:09pm
maybe a shuffle perks option at the start could be cool,:steamhappy: instead of creating a new game in case i dont like the starting distribution.
vukh May 29 @ 3:01pm
hi, i like your mod. i only have one complaint so far.
the random perks distibuted at the start is too wide. for example i started a game as william of normandy and he had 5 points in diplomacy ,2 in intrigue, 1 in stewardship, and none in martial, which is very contradicitng of his history and his age.
2099170697 May 29 @ 7:31am
Some of the skill descriptions are half in English and half in Chinese, which makes me feel very uncomfortable.
Kämpfer May 27 @ 10:36pm
There is an Ordu perk in the Martial tree that judging from it's desciption is next to useless unless you are a nomad.
UnknownWon May 25 @ 6:25pm
Sorry, I'm not sure what information you would want. I had moved camps several times before that so I don't know how I could reproduce it except for that specific savegame. I think I still have the savegame, but it was with about 130-140 mods iirc.

I might be able to find or reproduce the modlist; or as Greenguh said just chalk it up to an interaction with another mod. Here is the crash report folder though: https://filebin.net/wei9yq6tvtxy2jt3
Greenguh May 25 @ 9:05am
tbf it was probably an interaction with another mod. Great work responding so often!
idm  [author] May 25 @ 8:24am
There's not much I can do unless you give me more information. Moving camp works fine on my end, even with every single perk unlocked.
UnknownWon May 23 @ 2:23pm
I found that this mod was crashing my game (with lots of mods). It happened consistently on a specific save, when my adventurer camp arrived at their travel destination after moving camp.
Kämpfer May 19 @ 4:53am
Really great idea to have skills not be tied down to trees. In vanilla you are often forced to spend a point to grab a perk that you have absolutely zero use for and some trees in vanilla are just too weak relative to others.
I didn't see the update yet, but at least in the last version many perks were absolutely useless for landless.
idm  [author] May 18 @ 5:26pm
@Mister I would say give the mod a try again. Some values have been tweaked since then.
idm  [author] May 18 @ 5:25pm
Updated for 1.16.
Mister May 17 @ 10:15pm
Thanks for a really nice mod. It was one of the best mods. I must say i am not using it anymore since the overhaul. Getting 100 piety and 100 marshal exp for every battle is way to OP. You can raid and kill a bunch of small armies and get maxed out in like 15 minutes of gameplay.
GG棒 May 15 @ 9:15pm
Thank you very much, we will be looking forward to it.
idm  [author] May 15 @ 5:34pm
An update should be out tomorrow (Friday) or sometime this weekend.
GG棒 May 15 @ 11:02am
Dear author, hello. The bugs that appeared after this module was combined with the latest version have seriously affected the UI display of the large grassland feature in the lower left corner of the nomadic system, and have also caused many nomadic countries to be unable to display nomadic herds properly, which has led to issues with migration and some important mechanics not functioning. We hope you can fix this when you have some free time. We really like your module and are looking forward to your updates.
bamboocarpet May 15 @ 3:26am
Really enjoying all your mods. Tasteful images, as well.
Coop d'Etat 19 May 5 @ 7:14pm
I know you haven't updated yet, but in case you don't know, the only issue is some GUI issues with the new nomadic stuff. Otherwise, it still works great on v1.16
Abu Musa May 1 @ 10:44pm
love this mods. will it be updated?
idm  [author] Apr 8 @ 5:16pm
@dbv You either have to find a German translation or make one yourself.

@Greenguh There will be more improvements in the future. This iteration of the mod is just that - an iteration.

@ridicidonk I'm not sure. Give it a try.

@Yubie I don't do commissions sorry.
dbv Mar 31 @ 6:53am
a lot perks have no german names - how do I name them?
Greenguh Mar 29 @ 11:34am
I do like a lot of the updated perks though - especially aspirations. I think the greater variety is generally good. Stewardship highest level (before administrator, etc.) is kind of lackluster though
Avan Mar 29 @ 5:56am
Testing this mod out with After The End and Veritas last in my load order- will report back if I notice incompatibility.
