I think with the Reach tools, lasers are possible, or so I have heard of a special variant of Jun's sniper rifle that has a massive green laser on it. That may be a very interesting addition.

I have been meaning to add more firefight maps to my collection so perhaps Boneyard will be my next one :)

Winter Contingency runs ~80-100 FPS which is good, i like the atmosphere here with the fog/snow, probably impossible to do with mod tools but if there could be lasers attached to guns, it would be awesome, solid experience

Thank you for the feedback. I thought I gave the MA37 a head shot multiplier but I may be thinking of the AR from my halo 3 mod. I will have to look again since the MA37 is one of the few weapons that gets a flashlight so it is kinda important.

The FPS on that level (and pillar of autumn) is a huge issue because there is something wrong with the lightmapping on those levels and some BSPs can't be re-lightmapped without crashing so I had to use dynamic lights which can really stress out the game engine so no matter how good your specs are the game will sag :(

If I ever figure out how to get the lightmapping working there I can fix the FPS issues and add more lights too.

Cool mod, great atmosphere but i feel that maybe some weapon tweaks especially making the MA37 a little bit more powerful, one problem especially where you find the ODSTs in exodus looking at the ground i get ~240 FPS (9070XT, 5700X3D 3440x1440) but when i look around into the sky i get ~25 FPS

Great mod, but I feel like there needs to be an increase in artificial lighting in city/industrial areas throughout the campaign. Most particularly in the mission Exodus, there needs to be a dramatic increase in artificial lighting to make it look like a realistic night urban setting. As it feels really gloomy, as if there was a blackout.

This is masterful. The Sword Base opening with the heavy fog and snow, and then the Falcons slowing popping out is beautiful. Congrats. I might have to play the entire campaign again with this mod

Thanks for the idea! I haven't had a chance to mess around with it but there seems to be a couple ways to do it. I could add a rain occulder (I've never done it before), an invisible object (like you suggested and is easier) or maybe look at the actual pelican model and see if I can made it "water proof" (bungie may have used a special version that has less physics?) I'll try to look into this soon since I feel I didn't do that level justice. The whole level's lighting is a mess since it is the only level in Reach you cannot re-lightmap since the tools crash in most of the BSPs (thats why it is pretty laggy and the lights look bad in some spots).

I just thought of an idea for the rain in key's pelican, would it be possible to temporarily place items on top of (or phased into) the pelicans roof during the interior shots to block the rain?
Also seeing the heavy rain splatter and pour off of 6 in that scene nearly makes up for it, so so defeatedly yet resiliently moody. Thank you again for this simple yet beautiful mod. :steamthumbsup:

Thanks! I'm glad you enjoyed it! That is something i'm looking into and probably going to reduce the amount of snow/fog during that cut scene. Iv'e also noticed the Key's pelican thing and it is definitely be something more tricky to fix. I also agree, I wish those ships had more lights so I perhaps might look into actually getting into adding them somehow. :steamthumbsup:

This is amazing and i loved every second, my only complaints are that you can't see the cruiser getting smashed on sword base and the rain inside of key's pelican on the last mission witch would fall under weather so I'm not sure how to fix that. I've also noticed larger ships like the Grafton and the civvie cargo transports are a little hard to see, so I was wondering if it would be permissible to add more lights to the larger ship models? All in all it's a great mod, that adds a metric ton of atmosphere.

Which flashlights? You can't control the AI's flashlight but if you have an armor piece that has a flashlight on it then you can unequip it before you start the mission.

Sometimes if there are a lot of lights being rendered all at once the game will "cull" lights with less priority to give better performance. Do you know exactly where the lights you are talking about are so I can check them out?

am i tripping or do some lights, specifically ones inside buildings, not always actually emit light? Like there two bright as heck floodlights, but the room is pitch black still.

I've actually been working on ODST and it is coming along pretty good! The only downside is that the rain is still using the Halo 3 engine which doesn't look as good as Reach's.

my god, this mod creates an entirely different and unique mood to the game which fits the plot of hopelessness and defeat so much. absolutely love the rain too. speaking of rain, odst doesn't include a single drop of rain at all- just a suggestion if you could make odst moodier than it already is? including rain and some other lighting changes (especially the rook on mombasa streets part of the game)

Every mission apart from Winter Contingency seems to do this. I'm going to play that one for now, until I can figure out whats going on. Great mod tho, very moody

What mission? If it is the first one then you might be skipping the cut scene which is the mission.

I don't know what is wrong your MCC. Green phosphorous is indeed green. You may need to reinstall the mod or MCC.

What? Did you run MCC with Anti-cheat disabled? Did you select my mod in the Halo Reach menu? Do not play the "BUILT-IN" campaign, it is called "Halo Reach Night-time Campaign"

As the guy who's personally taken time to fill Halo CE with weird lighting effects and darker atmospheres, I absolutely love the way this looks! I can never ever get enough of this gloomy goodness! Mods like this really do take time, thank you for your hard work!
