Really wish you could make this for Civ 5 BNW. Any thoughts?
Machiavellian Mike 20. sep. 2015 kl. 15:01
I haven't played Beyond Earth yet, but I was wondering if you could please make a similar mod for Civilization 5. I have been playing Civilization 5 alot lately, but later games really piss me off because of me having to micromanage trade.
svehlic25 2. apr. 2015 kl. 10:25
Any chance you can make this mod for Civ 5 BNW?
BlackViper 14. mar. 2015 kl. 17:18
Hello, could you please post link for external download?
Raynor 15. nov. 2014 kl. 18:38
Can you make one for 50 turns as well please.

What Elliott said.

It may be beyond the original scope of this mod; but this introduces a bit of a balancing problem with Stations. With this mod, Stations become much less powerful: you're now only getting the upgrade to Tier 2 after eighty turns, instead of being at Tier Three by 50.

I believe this is actually in-line with the fact that stations are a little under-powered by the end-game; perhaps the easiest solution is just to split the difference, and buff the tiers by 200%? This way, you're at least at the equivalent of old "Tier 3" after 80 turns, and now have a new tier to look forward to after your second 80-turn round.

This mod was featured in a Top 5 Civ:BE mods list: Link
Voudo 30. okt. 2014 kl. 20:37
For some odd reason it randomly breaks. It does not last the 80 turns on new or saved game with the mod... probably a conflict with the other mods on there
Sareine 30. okt. 2014 kl. 20:18
I think what we need are permanent trade routes that you can cancel any time (maybe with a 10-turn minimum or something).

To @wildlifeluvr, I don't see how forcing the user to click something every 25 turns makes it more strategic in any way. I'd love to have auto-management options like we do in cities: "maximize money", "maximize science" and "trade with this city until I come change it." The flexibility is there to micromanage if you want to, just like it is with choosing which tiles a city works. I don't need a pop-up every other turn asking me to re-choose the tiles that some city works, which is exactly what we get now.

Absent something like this, what I really want is for trade routes to not be part of the game at all. As far as I can tell nobody likes them, but you sadly can't ignore them. A decent management UI, with automation and no forced re-choosing would make them good enough.

@pkinderen thanks a lot!
wildlifeluvr 29. okt. 2014 kl. 21:44
The short 25 turn routes made the game unplayable. Extending the route time is mandatory.

However, I see a number of players stating things implying that trade routes are useless, hide them, auto-refresh, etc.

What Firaxis should do is not only extend the routes turn duration like this Mod does, but make the routes change quite a bit in rising and falling benefits based on a more complex Diplomacy system. Currently, there is some of this but it needs to go deeper.

The people suggestion implementing auto-refresh are taking away a vital tactics and planning part of the game. Trade routes should tie in with Relationships and Diplomacy--rising and falling rewards shoudl mean you need to check the routes, not auto-refresh.

I am extremely grateful, Neko-Luna. Thanks too, pkinderen, I was setup is to 90 turns.
JugularDev 29. okt. 2014 kl. 18:56
THANK YOU
Azimut 29. okt. 2014 kl. 15:03
This simple mod makes end game playable! Trade can be really annoying when you have many cities..., Maybe a "repeat route" botton would be nice
pkinderen 28. okt. 2014 kl. 14:18
You can easily change this yourself to whatever value. Just look up the following filename:
C:\Program Files (x86)\Steam\SteamApps\common\Sid Meier's Civilization Beyond Earth\assets\Gameplay\XML\GlobalDefines.xml

Open it in wordpad so you can change it and look for:
<Row Name="TRADE_ROUTE_BASE_TURN_DURATION">
<Value>250</Value>

As you can see I changed the value to 250 turns.
Fuggaak 28. okt. 2014 kl. 12:43
I like this, but it's kinda like delaying the inevitable. Can someone find a way to add in a "continue previous route" or at least have the option to order the routes by how much they will give? It's annoying endgame to have to spend 5 mins a turn just re-initiating trade D:<
toni.russ 28. okt. 2014 kl. 5:49
Can you also add an endles rout cycle option? Always redoing the rout setup is annoying expecially with growing number of cities.
asdf 27. okt. 2014 kl. 17:58
@teh.ingway
I couldn't agree more. Maybe add an auto setting like workers so trade route could go for maximum food, production, energy, etc.
dogfacedboy 27. okt. 2014 kl. 13:09
I need this. Also a big fan of @teh.ingway's idea. End game is a nuisance with the constant restarting of trade routes. I just give up and click anything after a while.
*Whisky* 27. okt. 2014 kl. 8:33
overland trade routes dont change before next shift.. That means even though you cleared the miasma, the traderoute is still fixed on the same long route around it.
So it not so bueno...
Meethos Antilles 27. okt. 2014 kl. 1:29
@Brother Malachai: Yes and no. Both mods will load together just fine, though since they edit the same value which ever ones loads last will be the one that dictates the trade route duration. See the Note at the bottom of the other mods description for more information.
Caeruleus Mors 26. okt. 2014 kl. 23:51
I'd much rather see an option "hide trade units on map" and "see trade units on map" than a trade route extensions. I'd subscribe to that!
ingway 26. okt. 2014 kl. 22:36
If they just had a unit button that was along the lines of "Repeat last trade route" rather than having to go through the choices and confirmations it would be much easier too.
InViz0 26. okt. 2014 kl. 22:03
I will give this one a shot on my next 300+ turn game. Sooo needed for end-game when every turn u have about 2 trade vehicles that need new orders.
Maximum Broly! 26. okt. 2014 kl. 19:16
Is this compatible w/ Additional Game Speeds that boosts it to 60?
BobaMe 26. okt. 2014 kl. 12:23
This mod works pretty well, however it has one main flaw...the leveling of stations. Once that is fixed everthing will be golden.
Nediak 26. okt. 2014 kl. 10:14
you should make it so its only 80 for tier 3 stations
Beravin 26. okt. 2014 kl. 5:57
I like the idea of this mod, but before I install it, I have 2 quick questions. 1) Do you still have to trade with a station 3 times to make it tier 3, or will a cycle of 80 be able to do it? 2) Will I have to delete all my current saves for this to take effect, or will it work for existing saves?
Gr3atsaga 26. okt. 2014 kl. 1:26
Even if this mod actually works, the thing I like about the 25 turn cycle is that you can update your trade routes every so often if a new or better trade route opens.
enfo 26. okt. 2014 kl. 1:00
With this mod, traderoutes still last 20 turns. I'm playing on marathon so would that affect it?
MHC 25. okt. 2014 kl. 21:34
Thank you thank you thank you. Trade route maintenance has been absolutely ruining the game for me. This is just a stopgap measure until Firaxis (Hopefully) fixes it themselves, but this will stop me from wanting to die while I'm playing.
GM Pax 25. okt. 2014 kl. 16:46
THANK YOU for making this. I'll be a while before I _subscribe_; I'm still rishing for achievements, and mods block them. But oh yes oh yes oh yes, I will definiely be using this, once I'm past that point!!
jsnider193 25. okt. 2014 kl. 14:26
wish they'd set the routes to be permanent unless you change them .. the old set and forget method. would have made a lot easier for play mechanics, but this is goood alternative, thanx for doing and posting.
TheMilkman99 25. okt. 2014 kl. 14:09
Thanks Neko-Luna. You are awesome for sharing this.
James009 25. okt. 2014 kl. 13:59
THANK THE LORDS!
Neko-Luna  [ophavsmand] 25. okt. 2014 kl. 12:35
Thanks all. Yea, ideally I would have the trade routes just auto-update to the best or just behave like they did in CIV IV, I'll have to look into it.
Sidetrack 25. okt. 2014 kl. 11:34
I am really greatfull for this too, as it kill all the fun late game.
For anyone who wants more turns:
Just go to the mod folder, open "update.sql" with a text editor and replace the number with a number of your choosing.
truevox 25. okt. 2014 kl. 10:57
Oh! Just had another thought - can you select "in process" trade routes normally? If you can, then just make another mod with unlimited route duration (1000 years?), and then you would just have to manually switch it. If that's possible.

Anyway, thanks again, you rock! :)

truevox 25. okt. 2014 kl. 10:55
Honestly, OP, I would buy this as DLC. It's THAT annoying in the base game. You are my hero. Consider adding in the future (assuming it's possible):

1: The ability to have trade routes only renew when a new possible route opens up
2: Having them renew when a more lucrative route opens (depending on a few values of "lucrative" - or even let that be customizable)
3: Custom renew speed
4: Auto-trade. That is, the trader will automattically go to the most "lucrative" (depending on a few settings) route it finds for 25 (or more, if needed for balance) years. It will then look for a more lucrative route if it can. If it finds one, it goes there. Else, it keeps the previous one.

Anyway, even if you can't implement ANY of them, this is STILL an awesome mod. THANK YOU!

Marauder 25. okt. 2014 kl. 10:33
My understanding is that trade route values will change over time, due to more buildings/technology, increased prosperity, etc. I know it shows this when you assign the new trade route, but unless it automatically updates the profits it during the current route why would you NOT want to update it every once in a while?
MrFable 25. okt. 2014 kl. 7:42
I am not sure what I am doing worng, but the trade routes only last 20 turns for me, even with this mod installed. I have loaded the mod up, ticked to make sure its enabled and everything. Started a complete new game, and still asks me to reconfirm every 20 turns :( :( :(
Dark_Storm_001 25. okt. 2014 kl. 7:31
I wish they'd just give you an option to click that would make a route permanent until the city was destroyed, captured etc.

Part of the reason why I hate trading in Civ games. This is a mod I'll happily use :P
legendof7th 25. okt. 2014 kl. 7:01
500 turn trade route would be great
Jonlissla 25. okt. 2014 kl. 6:44
Hell yes! Definately have to give this a try.
kaintk 25. okt. 2014 kl. 6:32
thx man ! even a higher option with something like 150 or 300 or even 500 turn could be really good! .... i dont understand why the trade route is not unlimited turn;p
Vilmar 25. okt. 2014 kl. 5:48
Thanks, I don't know if I could have faced another game of micro-managing trade routes.
Zephy 25. okt. 2014 kl. 4:12
I agree with Draakus, Thank you! it gets annoying when you have over 10 trade routes D:
Draakus 25. okt. 2014 kl. 4:01
From someone with over 20 trade routes, THANK YOU
