Hello there - Any update on the Bulge Module?
Morning Dew  [author] Jun 2 @ 4:03am
Found some issues units being removed from play in the Korea campaigns. Apologies! Fixed.
Morning Dew  [author] May 31 @ 4:51am
Got it. Glad you figured it out. I thought only the initial cards got locked - expanded should not automatically.
baldrick May 30 @ 12:37am
I figured it out now. When drawn the card gets "Locked" by default. I unlocked it and could then drag it to where I wanted it to be.
baldrick May 30 @ 12:21am
Re. Why can't you drag it where you want? Which campaign/mission/map/row/side... Keep up the Fire mission - all rows/sides
Morning Dew  [author] May 29 @ 7:40pm
Why can't you drag it where you want? There are snap points all around each map. Should be able to drag it, get it close and it will drop. Which campaign/mission/map/row/side?
baldrick May 29 @ 6:01am
Thanks for this. If I have to expand the map when resolving a Potential Contact marker, how do I do that? I can draw a new terrain card but I can't drag it to where I want.
Morning Dew  [author] May 12 @ 11:30am
I recreated it. Updated mod should fix. I think you can find them in saves started with the previous mod in the Unused bag. Thanks for reporting!
orchq May 11 @ 8:34am
Every time I play a Normandy mission and move onto the next mission the platoon Bazooka and LMG teams cannot be found by the module. Have no tried Korea or Vietnam yet
Morning Dew  [author] May 10 @ 4:52am
You should be able to increment the mission number on the mission log by clicking (add one) or right clicking (subtract one). Once on the right mission, click Setup Mission.
Biff Gimble May 9 @ 2:57pm
And thanks!!!
Biff Gimble May 9 @ 2:57pm
Questions. How do you change the mission on the mission set up button? I clicked on it thinking it would give me options but it didn't. Is there a way to make the table bigger? Can you actually input info into the mission logs or are they there just so you can print a physical copy?
mikesinn May 1 @ 4:22pm
Wow, having the Bulge scenarios here would be great as I just purchased that in the last GMT sale.
Morning Dew  [author] May 1 @ 6:33am
Thank you! Working on Bulge now - hoping to have sometime in May (work schedule cooperating).
Unaccommodated Man Apr 29 @ 8:43pm
This is really well done! Thank you for doing this. I don't have the space for some of the larger missions and this is so helpful. I hope you do this for the expansion too.
Morning Dew  [author] Apr 28 @ 7:04am
Those are not actual game counters that I know of in the actual game. But I can look at adding them. I have a few counters, such as the Enemy Activity Check counter, I've added. Also plan to add a counter for tracking Human Waves (rule 8.14).
mikesinn Apr 26 @ 6:06pm
@Morning Dew, thanks for the response. As I continue to learn the game, In playing the TTS module, I could not locate any Control Markers to show which cards have been cleared or secured. The Vassal module has those and I've found them useful to track Exp points. Am I blind or could these be added?
Morning Dew  [author] Apr 8 @ 7:55pm
Nothing added yet to track unit experience. There is a unit experience counter on the logbook where you can increment. I enter it into a Notebook (button at top).
mikesinn Apr 6 @ 4:25am
This is a great module. Just like playing on the dining room table, just without the wife giving you the evil eye for taking up the space... I am curious how others are tracking unit experience in the module. In Vassal, there's a nice matrix to easily track all the items that generate experience. Is there something similar here that I've missed?
Morning Dew  [author] Mar 28 @ 5:21am
Yes - if you do full free play, you have to manually pull all the counters from one bag so the right LAT team "bag" is on the table. Picking a campaign type (such as Normandy) fixes that.

Honestly, I might just remove full free play because it can lead to this kind of confusion.
NivekRedfoxy Mar 27 @ 1:00pm
In this case, i was playing in the complete free play mode. Changing to the Normandy Free Play fixed that.
NivekRedfoxy Mar 27 @ 12:44pm
Hello, i am learning how to play and i can't find anywhere the Litter team counter. When i click in my team squad, and enemys too the chat say Unknown Faction For LAT Team Pull.
Morning Dew  [author] Mar 27 @ 6:09am
No manual for the mod. The note cards give you any hot keys added in the mod. Lots of hotkeys in TTS, but that is general web searches.

My brother and I have some videos on his channel, AgilitySnips.

Glad you are enjoying!
Spock Mar 26 @ 1:50pm
Thanks for the replies! I meant a manual or documentation for your module. Or maybe a list of hotkeys. But now that you've answered my questions, I don't really need one.

Also, I think I've been watching your play-through of the Normandy campaign on YouTube. Was that you? Great stuff. I realized I was making some mistakes: not keeping my CO in LOS with other HQs on the CO TAC radio network, and not placing terrain behind newly-placed terrain cards to make sure there isn't higher terrain behind the revealed card.

Anyway, thank you for a beautiful module. I'm finishing up my first game with it today.
Morning Dew  [author] Mar 25 @ 3:46pm
1. Games button...Save and Load...Save Game

2. That cube is there for you to advance. The module doesn't know when you are done with a specific function. Just there to help you.

3. A lot of objects are "state-based". If you hover over and see something like (1/2), then you can click the right mouse button, find States and see the different options.

4. Manual for TTS?
Spock Mar 25 @ 1:56pm
I'm loving the module so far, but I'm pretty new to TTS. Some questions:
1. Does the module save my game in progress automatically? I can't find a save-game button.
2. Does the little red cube on the Sequence of Play ever advance automatically? I thought it might, for example when I hit "clean up," but it didn't.
3. The action menu fold-out on the lower-left of the table shows half the action menu. I can't quite figure out how to flip it. "Flip" doesn't seem to work; nor does toggle state.
4. Finally, is there a manual or documentation or help file?
Many thanks for a great module.
Morning Dew  [author] Mar 17 @ 4:46pm
One thing for all to note is that I do keep detailed change notes.
Morning Dew  [author] Mar 15 @ 9:04am
All - appreciate the kind comments.
Morning Dew  [author] Mar 15 @ 9:03am
bmcnorton - good point on free play not knowing which faction. I'll think through how to address that and get an update.
Morning Dew  [author] Mar 15 @ 9:02am
Several counters, including the LAT counters, are state counters. If you hover and see something like (1/8), that means that counter has 8 different states. You can right click and go to states and pick or press a number and it will switch to that. We made a lot of counters, like cover, LAT, Pending Fire etc all use states instead of a ton of different counters.
Selurevad Mar 15 @ 5:58am
Ah! I found all the counters. To anyone reading this some counters have various states. This is discussed on the index cards before your start a game, but those are gone once you start a game. If you can't find the counter you are looking for, a helpful tip is first just let the game place the counter (i.e. right click on object and "Pull LAT Team") and then its going to pull up the correct counter, but then you might need to modify its state to get it to the correct display. You can right click the counter and select State or use the number keys to select a state.
Selurevad Mar 14 @ 9:10pm
Now looking for VOF All Pinned...? I must be doing something wrong.
Selurevad Mar 14 @ 9:02pm
Also have a problem with Litter counter (generic LAT) can find the counter and using the context menu just wants to keep turning the unit into an Assault Team.
Selurevad Mar 14 @ 8:00pm
First great mod! My only wish list item so far is I wished Clean Up moved the Game Turn counter.

However, I can 't find VOF Automatic Weapons counters. I believe there is a stack of Pending Fire -3 counters in their place. I've tried looking through the bags and can't find them.
bmcnorton Mar 14 @ 12:50pm
Re: the unknown faction LAT pull question. I suspect you are playing using the Freeplay option. You have to use Normandy Freeplay so that it recognises the German “faction”.
tlangston28 Mar 12 @ 1:38pm
Excellent work! I just received my physical copy of FOF Deluxe Edition and looking forward to using it. I have been using this mod to play the tutorial missions in the Field manual and the first one worked great. For Run #2 however, I need LAT and Paralyzed counters and I can't seem to find them anywhere. When I right click on the unit and select 'Pull LAT Team", it reports "Unknown Faction for LAT Team Pull". Are there missing counters?
AstaSyneri Mar 12 @ 3:28am
Excellent, excellent module! While waiting for my Upgrade kit to arrive (should be close now), I have been using this with a friend to learn the game, going through the first missions. While it was difficult to find a few of the counters (playing on Free Normandy for the tutorial missions) being able to play this coop was so much fun.

I agree on the immersion fluff Sprogz mentioned: The weird language (and I have been in the miliary, ages ago) of the phases doesn't help with immersion. naming your leaders would help very much.

Close to starting that campaign in Korea that I have been waiting for for so long now... :D

In talking to the game developers, the tutorials are designed to give players hands on feel with finding counters, cards, markers etc. So automating them is not something recommended.

However, we can add the Field Manuals to the mod/free play options to assist a player wanting to work through them. In the meantime, any player can add the field manual by starting a game, selecting Object and search for PDF - drop a PDF object, pick the PDF and import as a local file.
Morning Dew  [author] Feb 19 @ 3:50pm
They can be. We'll be looking to add other FoF missions as they are updated to the Deluxe rules and we can look to add the Field Manual scenarios.

But until they, choose a Freeplay and you can set it up yourself just like if at a table. For example, if using Normandy terrain/units, pick Normandy Freeplay. If the mission with the helicopter assault, pick Vietnam freeplay.
juststu82 Feb 16 @ 8:29pm
Would love to have the tutorials added to help new players learn with the automated setup. Could these be added as "missions"?
Morning Dew  [author] Feb 1 @ 3:30pm
Regarding name, you can use Description and it does not get overwritten. If you change the unit name, it will eventually get changed back to the [Counter Name] ([Experience])
Morning Dew  [author] Feb 1 @ 3:13pm
On the color, I need to dig into options on that. That is a really brilliant idea.
Sprogz Feb 1 @ 6:17am
I also like to name the HQ units for the purpose of emergent narrative using something "random-ish" like the current list of Amazon books authors; checking just now this for me would be CO HQ Winter, 1st SGT Greene, CO XO Reid, 1 PLT HQ Keegan, 2 PLT HQ Michaelides, 3 PLT HQ Gatland.

As the game progresses, it really helps immersion for me when the units are led by "named" HQs and they take on a personality of their own.

With that said it would be nice on the campaign log to have a small box next to the HQs to be able to enter something like this. I am seeing if adding it in the HQ's description beneath their unit name (veterancy) text works for now. It seems to be just right for adding a name which can be seen by hovering over the unit.
Sprogz Feb 1 @ 5:45am
Things like that often just jump off the screen to a fresh pair of eyes.

A QoL improvement I'd like to see is to be able to assign a colour to each platoon for the purposes of easier tracking (on the terrain map) of which attachments are assigned to which platoons.

At the moment I'm group-selecting each platoon and their attachments and right-click Color Tint-ing them (so the unit counters all get the same coloured-border), so 1st PLT is Green, 2nd PLT is Yellow and 3rd PLT Red (to match the smoke I give them).

I did the same thing in the VASSAL mod and it saves having to move my eyes away from the action on the terrain map to the campaign log to see which units are attached to which platoons. FoF is such a workout for the brain that every little reduction in distraction helps.

Maybe a colour picker next to the PLT HQ or on the dotted line above each PLT HQ that leads down to each platoon on the campaign log to enable quickly choosing a colour for them.
Morning Dew  [author] Feb 1 @ 4:53am
Thanks! Fixed. Amazing how you can read something over and over and miss typos.
Sprogz Feb 1 @ 4:17am
This looks so good. Thank you for developing this and involvement of Andrew Stead/GMT to get it right. I feel it could be an invaluable training tool too or when there's not the time or space to get the physical copy to the table.

I've been using Colin's amazing VASSAL mod so far but as we all know, the VASSAL UI isn't for everyone.

Looking forward to giving this mod a go while I wait for my Fields of Fire Deluxe to be shipped; probably got a few weeks yet before it reaches my hands, so plenty of time to try this mod.

Small typo found on the Quality of Life card; "One feature that is not obvioous..."
