you should have it like laying down instead of it like stabed into the skeleton
Aron  [author] Oct 15, 2015 @ 2:46pm
The version you will find at the spot marked on the map has a fire enchant. There is another version which can only be added through the console which does not have an enchant.
Blown Wolf Oct 15, 2015 @ 1:06pm
hahahh fair enough, does it have enchants? i prefer to play without enchants, but its a cool looking blade and i could always just mount it somewhere if it does:steamhappy:
Aron  [author] Oct 15, 2015 @ 5:10am
It wouldnt be very ancient if you could just craft it! 'Brand-new Greatsword' doesnt have the same ring to it.
Blown Wolf Oct 14, 2015 @ 6:54pm
can you make it craftable?
chungusamongus Jul 16, 2015 @ 1:58pm
Alright.
Aron  [author] Jul 13, 2015 @ 4:39am
Yes. There is an unenchanted version that can be added through the console, however.
chungusamongus Jul 12, 2015 @ 7:34pm
Is it supposed to have that flame enchantment on it? I was hoping to enchant it myself...
Senpai_Slime Jun 26, 2015 @ 3:16pm
reminds me of that one sword from the sheogorath realm dlc for oblivion, i forget its name, and i like that idea of the "lost sword" Karliah mentioned
Dan o' War Jun 17, 2015 @ 6:50pm
fixed it, thanks
Aron  [author] Jun 17, 2015 @ 2:40am
Try checking if the mod appears in the Skyrim launcher at all, or if you can find it in the console.
Dan o' War Jun 16, 2015 @ 7:55pm
sword is not appearing for me
Aron  [author] Jun 9, 2015 @ 5:13pm
That sounds pretty damn cool! Frankly, im honored that you think my silly mod is worthy of something like that.
Karliah the Nightingale Jun 9, 2015 @ 4:49pm
I might (If you don't mind) create a mod that adds a book to the location of the Wayward Blade with a back story. For personal use at first but then maybe branching out into multiple back-stories for people to read.
Aron  [author] Jun 9, 2015 @ 4:32pm
Thats good. I like that people ascribe their own story to it, which is why i deliberately avoided trying to tell it myself.

I do wish the texture had turned out better though, but thats how it is with old work.
Karliah the Nightingale Jun 9, 2015 @ 4:14pm
@LordRawr I have to confess that because of some opf your dungeon images I thought tis might be like a backstory of a Blade that lost his way and became known by history as "The Wayward Blade"
Karliah the Nightingale Jun 9, 2015 @ 4:13pm
@LordRawr Was that an intentional inuendo?
Aron  [author] Jun 9, 2015 @ 9:34am
A bunch of different things inspired the idea of the sword itself which sadly i cant portray properly in Skyrim (its effect, purpose and story, basically). The design however is an altered version of the Blade of Prophecy from Diablo 3 which i thought looked appealing.

Also, who doesnt like swinging around an oversized sword?
Karliah the Nightingale Jun 9, 2015 @ 4:25am
@LordRawr I'd be intrested in knowing what inspired the Wayward Blade.
Aron  [author] Jun 8, 2015 @ 3:51pm
I dont know the specifics as i am a heretic who never played Oblivion, but although you are probably also right on that count, thanks to Winter for pointing out a cool parallel even though the design of the sword was inspired by something completely different.
Karliah the Nightingale Jun 8, 2015 @ 3:49pm
@LordRawr I also beleive it was Fire in the day and FROST at night, not Shock as @Winter suggests. Again may the nine smite me down if I'm wrong.
Aron  [author] Jun 8, 2015 @ 3:46pm
You are correct, Karliah. You may keep your soul... for now.
Karliah the Nightingale Jun 8, 2015 @ 3:42pm
@Winter I think you're wrong. If I remember correctly it was DawnFANG and Duskfang not Dawntusk. If I'm wrong may the nine strike me down to be tomented forever by Merhuns Dagon.
Winter Jun 2, 2015 @ 11:25am
Okay, in Shivering Isles, there was a one-handed sword, with two blades, very much like this one. The reason for the two names, was that at sunrise and sunset, the sword would transform so that at night it had a blue gem set in the hilt and did shock damage becoming Duskfang and during the day, it had an orange gem and did fire damage, becoming Dawntusk.

Dawntusk/Duskfang was very similar in look to this, except it had a snake theme to it, since its backstory was that it had been brought to Tamriel during the Akiviri invasions and was made by the Vampire Snake people of Akivir.
Aron  [author] Jun 2, 2015 @ 11:20am
I dont know those swords, but i'll consider that a good thing :>
Winter Jun 2, 2015 @ 11:17am
It actually reminds me very strongly of Dawntusk/Duskfang from the Shivering Isles expansion for Oblivion
Ember Jun 1, 2015 @ 12:49am
what joke?
gluesniffer Apr 18, 2015 @ 9:33pm
Get the joke though?
Aron  [author] Mar 30, 2015 @ 8:05am
The story of the sword is for you to decide.
gluesniffer Mar 29, 2015 @ 5:52pm
Did Kanas forge the blade?
Aron  [author] Mar 18, 2015 @ 3:11pm
There was no item called Ancient Greatsword in existance before, no. I should probably have stuck with the same name of the item as for the mod, though- it was an earlier name which i happened to not change.
Zero Lokí Mar 18, 2015 @ 7:07am
Ancient Greatsword? Unless there wasn't one before? I thought maybe since it's called that instead of Wayward Blade.. that maybe it replaced something called an Ancient Greatsword. I'm probably thinking of Ancient something else : ]
Aron  [author] Mar 15, 2015 @ 11:07am
It should not replace anything. Have you found something missing?
Zero Lokí Mar 15, 2015 @ 10:29am
Thanks Lord mate, I did find it in the end, silly me didn't realise it was a replacment mod D: still looks decent though.
Aron  [author] Mar 15, 2015 @ 8:31am
@Pulse yes, write help 'Ancient Greatsword' in the console and you should get two versions of it, with and without enchant.
Zero Lokí Mar 14, 2015 @ 6:00pm
does it have an item code ? e.g. player.additem xxxxxxxx 1
Aron  [author] Jan 25, 2015 @ 8:02am
Slightly updated the texture aswell as significantly improved the specular and normal maps. Enjoy.
Somrandomguy205 Jan 17, 2015 @ 3:07pm

TORX Nov 8, 2014 @ 2:55pm
very nice double handed slicer, just the upgrading with expensive and rare ruby jewel is difficult to find...
Aron  [author] Oct 24, 2014 @ 4:20am
I have published an update that should make the sword upgradeable aswell as improving the nif files. Please let me know if anything is not working.
qp4400 Oct 21, 2014 @ 10:10am

Patch The Good Luck Oct 17, 2014 @ 2:32pm
Would it be possible for you to make a craftable one-handed version that requires Daedric Smithing?
Trap Oct 17, 2014 @ 1:38pm
Nice, very nice. :)
