It is possible. The catenary model is defined with the track, so there is no simple way to replace vanilla catenary model with this one unless you modify the track definition file that you wish to replace the catenary model.
I was wrong, just found out why I thought it's impossible and I'm working on a tunnel right now.
An update on the tunnel stuff. It seems the game has a fixed width and height for the tunnel, which explains why the other tunnel mod has this oval shape rather than a round shape.
I have some ideas about an alternative way to achieve it but it’s not gonna be user-friendly.
Well it all depends on how the tunnel functions in the game, and it’s definitely something I’m planning to make, as well as the tunnel entrance.
So far I didn't find a way to change tunnel models for different numbers of parallel tracks, which means they all use the same tunnel model and the game would stretch the model to fit the tracks, but I could be wrong since I'm new to TF2 modding.
The best approach that I can think of, is to create an invisible track with the tunnel model with different width(e.g., single track, 2 tracks, etc), just like the one on the workshop, and use parallel mod to build it next to the track in the tunnel.
As of the style of the tunnel or mast/gantry, it doesn't really matter for me since I did this mod solely based on photos instead of my knowledge to the rail system, which I have none(not even Chinese rail system).
