Why deprecated? I know that the added undead in game, but this is a faster way to start as undead. It be nice to give them an active ability like in your races mod.

Still solid mode idea and implementation.

I know this mod is supposed to be depreciated, but its still one of my favorites, I'm having an issue where my characters icon isn't loading, its just pure black, what do?

There's no way to change the word marriage to "apprentice" or something? Lore wise, maybe the undead race pays a testament to their mortal past by only taking an apprentice of the opposite gender and as a tradition only create more undead when they've found that person to bond with.

Would love a way to 'construct' new people, but the game is quite hardcoded when it comes to children and civilisations, and it's not possible to bypass that using what is exposed to modding.

So no children, no marriage and no civilisation for now.

I like not aging. Gives you the chance to fast forward to see your settlement grow.
Guess you can't have children for legacy?
Would be a good con for Undead race if you couldn't.
Maybe construct offspring using bones and body parts :claugh:

No updates to mod, as nothing that would fit undead theme was added to the base game.
That said, it's working without any issue.

Has there been any upates since this was made? I am new to the game and checked out the modding scene. Saw that the modding scene for Soulash 2 is low tho

Not possible unless you also use a mod that increase potential.
ChaosSzneks Sep 12, 2024 @ 11:24am
Is there a way to increase potential as Undead? Since they don't really age?

Clicking on the 'random' button enough times :)

I found out too late that you cannot apply color to any character 'layer', the color picker on UI shows only for body, eye color and specific hair layer (one out of 12th which in my case were already occupied by helmets).

So I advise to just click randomize until you get the color of hair of your liking and once you get it, just pick the rest.

Good race to play for a different experience.

In character creation, what dictates whether the facial hair is black or white?

showing your age, yeah, back in the 90's and 80's any pro came w/ a major con and it was worth it.

I though about that, but its impossible - hence why I made an explicit undead race - there is a bug outgoing (reported like two months ago) that a mod that override anything (stats, descriptions, passives) for vanilla races doesn't work.

The disabled consumption works because its a passive.

You could however patch that very easily in core game files if you want - if you're on the discord, you can ping me in modding channel (I use same nick there) and I'll be happy to help.

This is my go-to mod because of the consumption being disabled. I STRONGLY dislike food/water requirement systems in games outside Valheim (i.e. buff purposes only, the only way to do food right in a video game). After 100 hours, I have started growing a bit tired of playing a skelly boi though. How difficult would it be to make a standalone mod that disables consumption for all races?

Love it. Nice example for starting my own modded race too. The portraits are really well done too, really fit perfectly with the overall artstyle.

@Rake
Game crash is vanilla bug related to Hunter's Stew only, reported it.
Doctor Draken suggest's going on a diet temporarily until the issue is fixed.

I don't think they will be weak, just different - I'll certainly adjust potential bonuses and penalities after playtesting them though. Having no food/water requirement and no fatigue would already make them quite different fron vanilla races.

I'd love to add more things like poison and bleed immunity, full darkvision without infravision sight penality drawback; and perhaps alternative way of healing (life drain or corpse consumption perhaps).

My balance philosophy comes from 90's - when you had a drawback, it was +200% dmg taken, not +10%. When you had a strength it was not 10% reduced damage, but immunity.

This radically changed how different races played - saw a priest as an undead? You'd know you'll be in a world of pain.

Sounds great thanks for the quick response! :D

I do mods for fun, so I mod what I'd like to play, Djinns unfortunatly aren't on that list.
But you can always join the game discord, there is dedicated modding channel there - so you could ask questions about modding or post problems with you mod that you don't understand.

I can't figure out how to make a race. Can you take a crack at adding the Djinn?
Potato Feb 4, 2024 @ 2:17pm
Let's goooo! I love being a spooky skeleton dude who just does things. Thanks a mil!
DOG729 Feb 4, 2024 @ 5:01am
I'd rather make enemy NPCs out of them.
