Honestly devs should unlock different race form to both ruler types, there is no reason to lock it, same with outfits.

Yep, you could make her a Wizard King, although she wouldn't be able to use the same outfit without a mod. Or if you modded the game so you could have champions of different species then the issue would of course be moot as you pointed out.

That or use a mod that allows you alter the form of champiions thus having a champion leading it or you could turn her into a Wizard King with the faction edit. Either is a viable option
