I massively appreciate this being a thing. I haven't looked into Vassal yet, but this has been a great way to get started casually.
Here's hoping for CB34 soon. I've been really wanting to try out Rainbow Gotchard.

Added family and spirit names to the English translation in the latest update as of this comment.
(Known issue with Family names in the some of the cards in BS01, potentially up to BS05).

@nepuUbU Just take a look at BS01. You'll notice very quickly that the English translations of the cards are much longer than the actual amount of text on the card. Concerning the families, just leaving them as the original kanji is not a good idea since the wiki you're pulling from goes through the effort of translating them, thus it is incredibly difficult to know which spirits are which family without having to translate them ourselves.

Update on card resolution changes: I have been pretty busy with work, and updating card images are mostly grunt work (going through old versions one by one, importing, checking backwards compatibility) that I cannot easily replace with script.

It is going to take longer to update card resolutions and adding secret art to all old releases (if not yet updated).

I do in fact use a script to automate the heavy lifting (and hence not checking translations one by one 😛)

It will be great if you can give me an example of which card it is happening to and I will look into it. I can also add the spirit and card names since its closely related code.

Spirit and card name probably only English for now since most Chinese families are just Chinese characters.

This mod is really cool! My only problems are the fact that the names and families of the spirits are not present in the translations which make playing near-impractical. Also, I noticed that some cards' English translation use their revival text instead of their original text. I assume you just pulled the translation off the website without paying attention. Be sure you're putting the correct translation onto the card! Otherwise the card will not work correctly for the version presented.

Thx for the message. I am in the progress of replacing the art of all the cards with a new, high res source wtih all secret art (except SD, PB, P, PX, and other special cards). May replace SD cards afterwards.

However that takes time, right now I am going from BS70 -> BS60, where I have replaced down to BS65. After replacing BS60, I will be starting from BS01, in ascending order of the release date.

The previous estimate was being done by April 2025, but I currently don't have unlimited internet access mid-Jan 2025, so it will be unlikely I can make a lot of changes to this mod until then -> with that note the estimated time to fully replace all the art is May/Early June 2025.

I have noticed that the older the card is, the more difficult it is to read the effect text on the image displayed as a card.

Is it possible for us to replace them with ones that are easier to read?
If not, would it be possible for you to replace them yourself?

@KuroNeroZX Thanks for the feedback, I will see if I can make it work. The problem now the status effects are getting too long and already low on space in the description.

Still thinking between the options of:
1. Just adding it into what we have right now (hacky fix, still not exactly a trivial change). Most likely solution as one more line would be negligible compared to the rest. Or,

2. Overhauling the mod to use Tabletop Lua scripts to change translation languages so we can cut space used in the description. This will require me to learn Tabletop's API and Lua from scratch, and time isn't something I have a lot of.

Either way I will try to get it in by next release if time permits.

Please let me know if there is any more feedback or suggestions!

Sets will usually be added on the day of release or a couple days after.
In the case of BS69 I will add it sometime between July 27th to 30th.
