Literally halving the albedo resolution from 4096x4096 (I would never use this texture resolution, period. You don't need this much detail for anything but close up shots in rendering.) to 2048x2048 decreases the filesize of the vtf from 21.846 KB to 5.462KB (about 70% decrease) and thats just using VTF's built in downsampler.

Doing this will not affect the models in any noticable way unless you're actively shoving your face into them, which in normal play noone will ever do.

When you hit the workshop filesize limit, your first reaction shouldn't be to "split the mod" it should be to ask yourself how you got here in the first place.

This has got to be one of the most retarded player model packs I've ever seen. Friend of mine was bitching about a 5gb playermodel pack being forced upon him by a server and I thought "thats insane, that must be like 200 models".

I was wrong.
It was this absolute disgrace of a mod.
Haven't even bothered checking the rigs or geometry yet, screenshots say enough, these models look like shit in engine. tbf the source engine is dogshit at toon shaders so can't blame you for that one.

What I can blame you for is the utter disregard for any kind of optimization, I dug into a single one of the models and 50 fucking megabytes of textures for a single model is the most inefficient character model I've ever seen outside the military scenebuilding community (and even they usually optimize for 20mb per model MAX).
