Basically.

Nobody has had their maps taken down with packed in content though as far as im aware though, me personally i have all of Valves games so i have no issues and packed in content into the bsp itself causes unique issues with models and generally is a waste of space if you already have the content in question.

because theyre essentially giving out textures and models for free, which is mainly a copyright issue i believe?

why do so many maps need hl2 or tf2 to use it

I dont think Gmod actually takes into account of the Episodes inclusion from the Anniversary update yet since its piracy protection checks if the owner of the account owns the appropriate appid i think before letting you mount it

Even though I have the HL2 Episodes mounted (They're included in base HL2 because of the 20th anniversary update), there's still a lot of walls that are pink. I don't mean that as in there's missing textures, I mean that as in it looks like someone just got a bunch of pink spraypaint and went ham with it.

for some reason the industrial urban grunge of HL2 Beta maps and content make me weirdly nostalgic for the early 2000's and this map was a very good example of giving me that feeling, thank you so much for reuploading this odd gem.

Im very close to just taking down this upload of the map since i cannot diagnose what the problem is since it 100% works perfectly fine on my end.

have episode 1, 2 and CSS and I still have errors

I have mounted CSS mounted but there are still errors, i also have the entire half life franchise mounted too

I forget that people play this game without CSS

It might be good to include the fact it requires CS:S for some of it's textures as it will cause graphical problems if it's not mounted on Garry's mod.

Window frame models are missing textures, but aside from that everything works.

Jaycie forgot to build the cubemaps before publishing the map to the workshop.

...I didnt touch the map though at all, like literally, i cannot just upload the gma file directly, i have to open it up and thats all i did otherwise its 1:1.

Missing cubemaps. Shiny textures like glass or metal will have the missing textures on them due to the map not compiling cubemaps.

I cant exactly help if i dont know what is missing, the original upload didnt need CSS to my memory.

Actually it was Facepunch that decided to change Gmod download locations to the 'new' directory - addons that were created before this system and haven't had any updates afterwards will still install themselves under 'Addons' possibly because of some weird reverse-compatibility addon mountain behavior (and it's installation will create a junk binary file in the location of the workshop ID directory for some reason in it's place).

Also I can confirm that it gets worse , you don't have to launch the game for workshop content folders to be instantaneously deleted for no reason.
