Appreciate this may not even get read, but can you adjust the pistol so that it 'can' be totally silent if also using subsonic. i.e. without subsonic it makes a small amount of noise and isn't entirely silent.

Crit chance feels a bit excessive but otherwise a great merc :thumbs:

She is a level 3 stealth killer, the talent and traits focusing on stealth kill such as night ops and stealth. She has a custom silenced pistol with aim bonus at 3 level. Her stats emphasis on Dex which has over 90.

I dont know why this isnt 5 stars.. anyway this merc is probably my favorite custom merc ..shes good and her voice lines are good.. sounds like a merc that came with the game and doesnt have annoying voice lines.. great job:steamthumbsup:

Hi @Tadaa! - replying to my post from January, 23rd - thanks for updating Marianas visuals als suggested - she looks great now!

Not sure if it is intended or a bug concerning BCE (which i do use, too) .- but Marianas P99 doesn't play firing sounds. According to the visuals, i doesn't have a silencer, though.

Just claimed Ernie Islo with the new Mariana in an new Playthrough - and i am impressed! Keep up. mate!

MattP Just take a good llok at Tex unitdata in editor. You will find equipment tab right between Perks and Likes and Dislikes. There is a window for script logic governing what from equipment goes to which weapon set/hand. Should look something like this, if memory serves :
self:TryEquip(items, "Handheld A", "Firearm")
self:TryEquip(items, "Handheld A", "Firearm")
That tells game to try equip two sidearms into first weaponset, A, assuming that it finds two sidearms in merc inventory, unique or not. Have fun with your custom merc, cheers.

I didn't see this reported, but there is an issue with localization text when extending her contract. I'll try to give more specifics after the next time it happens.

A pretty strong mercenary. Especially at the start. She was the only one who captured Ernie and Fleetown. The gun also produces acceptable damage at a late stage of the game. Top voice acting. Does she know how to panic? :)

Tadaa, you seem to be one of the more experienced character creators. I was trying to make a character with unique locked custom dual-wielding pistols like Tex. I can do everything except I can't figure out how to tell the game to begin with the "Both" together. It wants to place one in the hands and the other in the backpack, and when they are locked (like Tex) you can reposition them. Do you have any idea how Tex or Vicki is set-up or how to place both dual guns together?

I´ve added the hair and the body. More hair isn´t really possible, because it won´t fit under the beret. :/

Hi @Tadaa! - and first of all thanks for moding JA3 and making a great game even better.

I installed your Mariana-mod and would like to suggest two updates. First: the yellow arms do look really ugly - could you perhaps make them black (as the GSG-9-Pullover) tone them down to the facial skin-tone?

Second: As @angnig04 m,entioned: the 3d-model ingame does have no hair - which looks quite ugly, despite the beret.

Despite that: greta mod an fun to play!

She´s wearing a hat, so I removed the hair - I think there is a problem with other mods, which are removing the hats?

how come here 3d model has no hair? already checked and it doesn't seem to be any mod causing it since i only have 6 in total. Even the image you provided has her with no hair

It's very easy to change a merc to IMP. Just do a search on the workshop items, I think I wrote how on some of the mercs in the commentary fields, but I don't remember where.

Another idea for her background: perhaps former BND field operative? and as fields.of.elysium suggests, perhaps replace Night Ops with CQC training trait to better reflect her exceptionnal skill with a pistol.

Irgendwelche Eliteverbände würd ich weglassen. Simple Wahrheit ist: da schaffen Frauen in der Regel die körperlichen Eignungstests nicht. Und da wo sie es mittlerweile tun meist nur weil man politisch bedingt die Anforderungen gesenkt hat.
Muss aber auch nicht immer sein: normale Zoll- oder Polizeibeamte lernen auch gut schießen, (Frauen sind seit 1987 in Deutschland dabei) freigestellt als "Amateursportler" über die Sportförderung für olympisches Training im Pistolenschießen? Wechselt dann "aus Gründen" (disziplinarische Probleme? Bock auf mehr echte Action? Irgendwas halt. Muss man ja nicht mal ausführen, einfach sagen sie redet nicht drüber und AIm fragt angesichts der Leistungen auch nicht...oder so :D) in die Privatwirtschaft und landet bei AIM...

Waffe: mach ne "Walther PP" draus - wurde bis 1999 gebaut und gibt es mit 7er Magazin (erspart dir sonstige Änderungen). Vorteil ist auch von denen gibt es extrem viele, Auch Sonderanfertigungen, Einzelanfertigungen als Geschenke für Staatsgäste usw. gibts en masse. Da lässt sich ne besonderes Modell für sie leicht erklären. Bis 1972 war sie in Deutschland auch als Waffe bei Polizei und Zoll üblich (allerdings Kaliber 7,65 × 17mm bzw. .32 ACP).
Keine Ahnung...Knarre von Papa der Polizist war geerbt und auf 9mm aufgebohrt oder so?

Karriere: nun sie sieht ziemlich jung aus, mehr als Anfang 30 würde ich nach dem Bild nicht geben. Also nicht mehr als ~5 Jahre Dienst irgendwo. Da passt dann IMO auch Level 3 (ich seh das immer als "professionell, aber kein Veteran").

Another very high quality mod from you. Great attention to detail, voice, overall feel. I also like the unique pistol assassin role. I would recommend though, in order for her to feel more like an element of the original game than just a mod - let the pistol aim bonus be 10 (like the max in the game) instead of 60, and rather give her CQC training trait and/or other accuracy mods on the weapon to achieve a high overall accuracy without exceeding ordinary limits/numbers of the game. If you need to keep the number of traits down, swap out Night Ops and let her start with a pair of night goggles equipment instead.

Walther klingt halt so typisch deutsch - deswegen fiel die Wahl darauf ;-)
Das mit der hohen Erfahrung hatte ich tatsächlich auch schon überlegt, aber nahm an, dass sich niemand darüber Gedanken macht ;-) Wahrscheinlich werde ich die Backstory dann beim nächsten Update nochmal überarbeiten - falls du was beisteuern magst, baue ich es gerne ein.

Oh, and the GSG9 does not use Walthers - they use Glock 17/19 and mostly HK USP as sidearms. And the Walther PPQ is produced from 2011 until today. Meaning it does not exist in the timeframe of the game (early 2000) . The "walther Pistol" of that time would be a P99 (and both Weapons would have magazines from 10 to 15/17 depending on the variant ^^)

Nice Mod, but I'd change the background. There hasn't been a single women in the GSG9 up to this day. They can enter the Eignungsauswahlverfahren (Aptitude selection process), but since there are the same requirements as for men, no woman passed it until now.
Also with 10 years in the GSG9 you would be a high-End mercenary Level 6+ or something like this..

a more civilian 'career' would be more plausible. E.g olympic pistol shooter or something like this.

I'm fine as it is. It may be strong early game, or even midgame, but at later stages, it can easily be outclassed by stronger weapons shooting at far and safer distance. Actually, at any stage of the game, you'll always be at risk with such short ranged weapon (sniper, MG and heavy weapons are always my thing). At any rate, I think this is a great idea for roleplaying!

But I´m open to improve the balance. My aim was to achieve that headshots in short distance are always (<90%) deadly. The weapon should not have mid or long-range capabilities in "normal" fights.

Yeah, it´s designed to be more powerful than the usual 9mms - she is trained on this specific weapon which leads to higher stats. But I don´t think its overall "overpowered".
It´s stronger because it is a personal Item (non dropable), with a reduced range. Making it weaker would remove it as a viable option in the midgame. I don´t think its more powerful than i. e. Bloods knives.
