My (wife) Serana using lots of spells, Sofia (my companion) usually fights together with me with melee attacks, I'm getting blows (from Serana's spells) and obviously ignoring them...
...but Sofia ISN'T, she turns hostile to Serana after the battle with the enemies!!!!
Is this mod stopping that annoying thing?

You could try adding the the perk to the follower with the console.
1. Press the tilde(~) key
2. type >>help "NoFriendlyFirePerk" 0<< to find the id
3. click on the npc you want and type "addperk <id>"
Preventing damage to non-hostiles from area effect spells would need to modify the magic effects of those spells. This perk method like the the "Companion's Insight" perk is a more universal because it just multiplies damage from the attack by zero if conditions are met, though it is still an attack and npcs will treat it as a hostile action.
I thought there was a mod that modifies the area effect spells like chain lightning to not hurt non-hostiles, though I can't find it. The is one for Storm Call [www.nexusmods.com] though.
But how do i get rid of my daemora lords now?
But oh, great idea for a mod btw. I think I'll just stick with the companion's insight tho.
Open the console, type (help "NoFriendlyFire" 0) to find the perk id.
Click on the npc you want to add it to.
Type AddPerk <id>
I don't know if that would work. It should prevent damage from any hits from a follower/summon.
The follower mod I use is "Amazing Follower Tweaks"
I only rarely ever had a problem with followers attacking each other with that. It also prevents friendly fire, but just not for spells.
