Like, imagine if--depending on the weapons damage-- the bullets hitting the infected causes the "stagger" effect as if you were shoving the infected? I even had this main idea:
Pistols and Deagle could cause them to stagger back, but no chance of a knockdown(they don't fall to the ground like the Riot infected sometimes do.
Shotguns could be an 80%-90% knockdown effect(if the shot isn't fatal).
The Sniper Rifles could be 50% for a knockdown(since sniper rifles don't really transfer energy that well).
And the assault rifles could use a 50%-60% chance for a knockdown effect.
In general, hitting the infected with a shot could cause a basic shove animation to play, but the idea is the script controls which type of shove you get. The idea is just to make something that makes it feel like your actually shooting the common infected.
- Remove the "zombie movement speed" cap (leave it just as vanilla) or allow players to modify the speed, because enemies are quite slow right now.
- Make it so that you can play Realism with this enabled, since choosing Realism with this enabled creates an odd bug where the server internally recognizes the game mode as "Realism" but all gameplay flags and checks remain the same as regular Expert.
Thanks!
@CVBlizzard sure I will look
Secondly I will be rebalancing the mod based on feedback.
Thank you all for support.
my brain is a bit mushed right now so i cant think of the proper word, but maybe try to make it sound more like something for someone who wants a moer causal experience
People who tend to dislike just insult, instead of giving the feedback I asked for. I appreciate you
=__=
I'll boot up L4D2 again later and see which ones are still there
Even without the infected slowdown and with the slower zombies, they did still give me some trouble on expert, although I am used to that difficulty so it definitely felt easier, especially combined with the increase reserve.
This does seem like a neat mod and I like the motivation for this, I hope you find success in this and future works
All this mod does in terms of movement is removes the slowdown from zombies hitting you and slow down from doing strafes. The strafes is something you have to most of the time intentionally do to benefit from, so its optional.
The zombie slowdown isn't that intrusive because most of the time the zombies will still slow you down just because of the fact they're blocking you while hitting you, so this only helps getting hit in the back.
I personally like all this & thank you for your feedback.
But hey, if you like that then that’s okay, although I wouldn’t really call it a "quality of life" and instead more so as an alternate gamemode
