And if i add some commands to config file of this camera (mouse sensitivity, or allowed angels of rotating to the left/right, etc) = game simply crashes on loading screen

That happens, 'cause game see unknown commands in the config file = which means, that is impossible to make camera rotating or someone else, excepts been fully static

By far favorite mod great job. One request can you make it that the hood view can rotate left and right

@Anthony Zero : That function exist only on trucks with sleeper cab as only possibly to buy (if truck has day cab and sleeper, it wouldn't work)

In list of vanilla trucks, only «Kenworth T680 2022» have "only sleeper"[/i] cab.
Other trucks have both of them. And in that case, there is no "lie down on the bed" animation for these trucks and cabs.

How can I get the camera to rotate so I can lie down on the bed? I can only get it to rotate to the passenger seat and out the right side. (I have the sleeper cab installed.)

@Hitman Your advice was excellent! But it was not one of the in-game settings. I looked at those and everything was okay. However, some time ago I installed the Beam TrackIR system and did not like it so I uninstalled it. However, it left a config.cfg setting at the wrong state: uset g_trackir "1", which should be uset g_trackir "0". I changed it and now have the Camera mod working again! Thank you so much for your help!

@PZ : I was checking today, change mouse setting to caring the steering wheel and use key bind to toggle on/off viewing by mouse — and everything works fine.

So, maybe, your settings was accidentally toggle on or off something?
Or your key bind for viewing by moving the mouse was unbound?

@Hitman Thanks for the reply! I created a new profile and am using only standard SCS trucks (Volvo VNL right now). I think the problem is something on my end (not your mod) because I also tried the Pivot Camera mod which I used before and now is also not working. Normally I do not care if a mod does not work, and simply move on, but your camera mod is my favorite of all mods I have, and I was hoping you might have heard about this happening to some and maybe what to do about it.

@PZ : On what truck did you try to use the "pivot camera view (key 5)" ?
If you try it on some mods truck, it may be unsupported yet. Or it's mod truck start to have individual "Lean out cam" conf file, and when i make this truck to supported by my mods — this conf file doesn't appear yet.

Or, you're talking about a default truck?

The pivot camera was working fine and suddenly it does not pivot. I have not changed anything, and even tried a new profile with only the camera mod added. I can still see the pivot camera view (key 5), but it does not move when I right click the mouse and move. Any idea what might be wrong?

@silverchin No, the roof camera nailed to the roof itself, and its not pivots at all. And yes, it can be changed fov or position. And the "pivots roof cam" it's the Window Lean out camera. And it also can be changed the fov and position.

is the roof camera the one that pivots? if so is it possible to change the position/FOV ?

@defragekb : Если после внесения изменения, в игре никакого эффекта не было замечено. Но при этом изменение соседнего файла прошло успешно — вывод один: Что-то ещё, перезаписывает первый файл. Для чистоты эксперимента, совету создать новую, "чистую", учётку водителя. Или хотя бы, как минимум, отключить вообще все моды (кроме этого) на основном профиле. И уже после этого, пытаться что-то редактировать.

@Hitman : но никакого эффекта от этих изменений я не заметил. также как и при попытках изменения значений параметра camera_offset во всех файлах bumper_*.sii
Так что не понятно почему эти изменения игнорируются. отключал и другие моды кабин/траков.
Зато позицию камеры "из окна" без проблем удалось изменить редактированием файла window_kenworth_w900.sui в той же папке... то есть не может быть, что я что-то не то и не там менял...
возможно, что-то еще где-то переопределяет именно эту камеру. попробую еще раз перепроверить все.

@Hitman : благодарю за исчерпывающий ответ! да, для начала я пытался менять в твоем моде и в том числе в bumper_basic.sui по тому пути, который ты указал. цифры в параметре camera_offset менял как с небольшим шагом (примерно понимая насколько мне нужно поднять камеру), в частности 2-й параметр (мне только его и нужно немного увеличить, получается), так и вообще ради теста менял все параметры на 10, таким образом факт применения этих параметров был бы более, чем очевиден.

@defragekb : И если ты хочешь сделать свой собственный локальыный мод, вот ссылка [drive.google.com] на мои заготовки для этого. Чтоб с ними взаимодействовать, используй любой архиватор, который может работать с .zip форматом (WinRAR, 7zip, итд)

@defragekb : Что касательно "camera_offset:" , (0,0, 0,0, 0,0) — первое число это горизонтальное смещение, второе это вертикальное, третье это смещение вперёд/назад.

Чтоб отредактировать эти значения:
Либо - Зайди по пути: ...\Steam\steamapps\workshop\content\270880\3006377097\universal\def\camera\units\bumper_basic.sui и отредактируй этот файл именно там. (Но твои изменения будут сбрасываться, если выйдет обновление на мод)

Либо - Создай свой кастомный мод, и загрузи его в игру, через "Мои документы\American Truck Simulator\mod\". И в самой игре, в модлоудере, поставь свой мод, выше любых модов на камеру.

@defragekb : Вообще, все настройки камеры с видом от бампера, находятся в конфиге «bumper_basic.sui». В большинстве случаев, все грузовики, даже из модов - используют именно дефолтный конфиг. Я пока что не встречал ни одного грузовика, который был бы исключением из этого правила.

Но, если таковой когда-либо появиться — посмотреть что он использует, и где оно находиться можно в файле «camera_storage_*имя_грузовика*.sii». Он лежит в архиве «def.scs» → папка def → папка camera. Там, в самом конце через команду @include подгружаются конфиги с камерами для грузовика.

@Hitman подскажи пожалуйста, где что поправить, чтобы поднять камеру бампера (кнопка 6) выше до уровня глаз водителя?
камера бампера кажется низковатой даже в твоей модификации

Пробовал сам найти и менял цифры в параметрах camera_offset во всех файлах, где содержится слово bumper, но как будто они вообще никак не влияют. либо я не в тех файлах менял.

Ohh i got it. Unfortynatly the gaem use two model for the truck.
When we use Interior Camera game use on ditaled model of body.
And when we use any "outside" Camera, game use low ditailed model of body.

So yeah, it's impossibly to fix it

It's the "On Wheel Camera", those mirrors on the Hood don't function.

Oh I'm sorry. What I meant is that the mirrors that are actually on the truck itself do not work when outside of the cab. Yes, the F2 mirrors work fine, but the Truck Mirrors do not unless you're inside the truck. (The Mirrors on the Front Hood of the truck) Is there any way to make those work outside or is this impossible?

I notice that the Mirrors do not work when the camera is on the Hood. Is there any way to make that an option, or does the game make this impossible?

You can't! That's why i modify the lean out cam — the default roof camera doesn't support any type of viewing, except static

And if you try to add some commands from other config, which is supports the cam rotation — the game just crash

I followed our instructions to LEM to get the lean out cam back, Thank you!

@SiB : Двигать камеру вправо. Но на данный момент, из дефолтных грузовиков, это работает только в самом последнем траке от Кенворт "T680 2022". Все остальные грузовики имеют возможность установки DayCab кабины — по этому, у них нет анимации со спальником. А есть только анимация пересаживания на пассажирское кресло, и выглядывание из правого окна

@LEM : Hey, glad to hear that you're like this mod!
You can manually delete config file of that camera, and it's return this "Lean Out" camera, to the default settings. How to do that, i wrote here . Simply scroll down until «Lean Out camera | Вид из окна двери» , then follow showing path, and delete "window_basic.sui" file.

This need to be re-done every time as a new update is out.

@Hitman, I like this MOD and I have been using it for some time but, I do miss the default "Lean Out Camera". Is there a way to implement switching from "roof of the truck" to the default "Lean Out Camera" when pressing the 5 Key? I use it a lot when backing. Right now I have to use the mouse to lean left to look back.

@Fabian H. You need to go here and left there a link to download this truck. Because the truck that you're talking about doesn't support by this mod yet. This mod doesn't work automatically, by himself. I'm manually add every new truck, and setups the interior camera config file

What am I needing to look out the passenger window? I continue the move to the right with my mouse but the camera stay inside the cabin. I use the Freightliner Cascadia Enhanced from PolyFir Studios from steam workshop.

Grab all files inside this folder (1 folder, and 4 file), and put it in .zip archive.
After that, change the file type from .zip to .scs (by simply rename it)

And voila! You have scs mod archive whit can be dropped to My Documents/ATS/mods

It's not a bug, it's "Lean out from the passenger side".
It doesn't show any outside textures, because if i enable it, it starts to cause a glitch in the interior, when you're in the truck store, and interact with the interior.

As it said in the mod description: Lay down on sleeper bed ( Only for Sleeper cab). All trucks and all body type use the same interior config file. If i do "sleeping anim" for the "Sleeper cab" , and you in game buy the "Day cab" — you will see that is your camera fly out of the truck. It will be weird, and wrong.
