Crashing UPDATE:

Light Sword Infantry Buqu

Concealed Snake Blades believed to have caused game crash.

I only know this since i did multiple tests on the crash. I took my army and
attacked a new settlement and it still crashed. Removed one general and it did not crash.
I kept the general the following test but analyzed any units i dont see often and removed
the snake blades. Game worked fine. This is most likely a TROM + TUP crash. The only item i edited with units is upkeep on both PART 5 mods, the rest of the components are all TROM+TUP Original.

I will attempt a fix and if i find one, ill let the original authors know either way. I
believe it has something to do with the laying oil ability but im not sure yet.

Ok so this was more work than i though but this should be back to as close to 2024 as possible with only very little little edits to budget allocation and removing a few tables from the Liu Hong mechanic that overlapped the Liu Hong mechanic mod.

I wont be testing this since ive done quite a bit including updating the collection but please use TROM + TUP parts 1-4 from the original Authors again with this part 5. I am making a new collection with the playset i am playing on now with generic general spawns.

@Lotus Eater23 - It does, thank you. I played with your new collection for a while as Cao Cao, and it was pretty nice i think. With new salary and title pay, i could gather a collection of generals pretty early on and use them on assignments and offices. I imagine that Yuan Shao campaing will be quite the collector run, even more so than it was. I guess i can tolerate new portraits if you want them to stay, i presume it was a lot of work to impliment them, i would still prefer the old ones though (For Cao for example, you have his new portrait and his old depiction in Schemes window). In sum, i enjoyed both iterations of your work, gameplay wise.

@Chapay40 - I am really sorry and i hear you on that. I have another person that raised the issue of portraits on another mod page. Thankfully i have backups of most of these mods and i have thought about re- updating everything back to what it was in 2024 so people's campaigns are not ruined, then i would just release a separate collection with new portraits/ economy/ etc.

Does that sound better to you? Please leave feedback for anyone else who reads this

New portraits sucks, im sorry. They are not of coherent style with the old ones, doesn't correlate with pictures of general's items, or represent the character model . Generally, making it as a new mod instead of replacing the part 5 patch would be wiser, i think. Using only your new part 5 with old trom+tup and alternate flags (the old setup, you know) will destroy your economy on loading a save because of uplifted upkeep. It was not a pleasant surprise, not what im complaining on your work an all. I just think it could be done a little better, and not so intrusive and forced. Thx for your work anyway.

Quick notice here: I updated unit upkeep and recruitment cost to be closer to the original TROM formula.

My mods are starting to get hard to keep track of, ill be honest. This mod sort of depends on using a character salary mod which is why i updated the mod dependencies and added my own salary reduction mod.

Im sorry guys for all the changes and i hope whatever mod loadout you play with that includes my mods works well.

I play on a very specific collection which has kind of lead to some chaos in my brain because ive tweaked so many tables in the last 2-3 weeks with tons of turn 1- 20 testing. Hopefully this does not wreck any current campaigns or future playthroughs.

While i highly recommend my ROTK collection, i understand it is not for everyone so i might be releasing updates soon so that people can choose my mods a bit more ala carte.

Since my revamped version of TROM + TUP uses TROM as a template, 182 and Eight princes campaigns are very likely to not work correctly.

My version of TROM still has the core components at the end of the day so, most of what you see on their page exists here too.

Their page does indicate 182 not being compatible so i would say that is the case here too. Sorry, hope it didn't ruin a good campaign.

Hey @Lotus Eater23, Is your collection suposed to work with campaign starting at year 182. I followed your load order but when I try this campaign the gamestart to load and close before the loading.

I tried to deactivate all mods and try each one of them and can confirm the mods that is crashing are the [TROM + TUP] Campaign Overhau parts.

You really only need part 5 of TROM + TUP if you are using my flag and faction color mod. Even if you don't play with my version of part 5, the flag mod should still work however, some faction colors might be off. I think there was 3 or 4 factions i noticed a difference on.

I have made a substantial # of edits on the replacements i have uploaded. I wasn't going to upload part 1, 2, or 4 but with all the edits i was making, i lost track of what works with what anymore.

Everything should still be compatible no matter if you go with original TUP + TROM or you choose my revamped version, I just became concerned that the gameplay would be off since my part 5 caters towards my personal part 1, 2, and 4 plus it works well with the power and politics lite mod I created.

Hope that explains it well. Everything should work with no crashes no matter what author you go with, just a matter of how it affects gameplay.

TROM pack 1 just got updated but this mod is only paired with TROM pack 2. Since TROM pack 2 hasn't been updated since July or so, this mod should still work fine.

As usual though, please report any issues! I get the stutter alot too but i think that is associated with how huge the TROM + TUP mods are. I used to get CTDS but i hardly see that anymore. I would check your load order and if that seems alright then im not sure how to help on the crashes. I have a collection with my load order if you want to compare yours.

@author Trom just got updated, is there a chance that this one will also get an update? Also, it seems there hasnt been a fix on how to deal with stutter or ctds when selecting a general. Still using this mod tho, kinda brings the immsersiveness to this game.

@Vi I can make a submod that alters nothing but faction flags & colours (The way this mod used to be).

It wouldn't be too hard to do as long as that's what people want. The only tables this mod further edits aside from flags & colours is:

Unit Upkeep
Weapon attack power of generals
Tax tables and rate

Hey Lotus I was wondering if you made a submod that brings back the unit upkeep costs? or if not maybe you can show us how to do do it via RPFM? I'm kind of tired of destroying stack after stack of armies lol.

After the recent update and allowing shield wall to walk instead of being immobilized, JIanan Hand Ji Infantry glides in shield wall instead of running. I will look into a fix and most likely take shield wall away from them or look to another fix. All the units ive tested so far minus them have operated fine in formation

I should do a changelog so you all are aware of what is happening. Just updated the mod. I thought that gold was a bit on the high end so i reduced tax levels. The taxed amounts that part 5 of TROM/TUP normally has is the values listed from high tax to low: 130, 115, 100(normal tax rate), 85, and 70.

The values i just modified are reduced from: 200, 175, 150(normal tax rate), 125, 100 to

New values: 145, 130, 115(normal tax rate), 100, 85, 70. Unit costs remain the same. The idea for raising tax difficulty a bit is to force the player to make tough decisions during peace and wartime, and to balance weather they would like to raise/lower taxes at the cost of replenishment/support.

I wont lie, this mod is still catered towards me and i am running a reduced salary mod for generals. This means if you do not run a similar mod, you might run into further tests when balancing economy.

@Stan Kovacs Great observation and yes, I did modify unit upkeep. The idea was that since I love the way the Radious mod implements more armies & larger stacks, I wanted to try that here. Right now it is an experiment, if you need me to revert back to just part 5 though, i can. This was intentional yep

hi, thanks for the mod amendment, the flag style is really distinguish of each factions.

may I know if you have any idea I can edit the mod? I mainly wanna try removing the 2 points per reform script however whatever I did any change of the mod, the game just cannot start

@Mark ive been away from 3k for awhile but this mod remains up to date! As long as part 5 of the TUP+TROM mod remains where its at, this mod will only need to be updated if Woodhawk makes a move. Hopefully whatever update TROM completed does not interfere with TUP+TROM and if i remember correctly, i dont think it does.

Its been over a month but i believe the TROM update was very minor.

TROM received an update on August 8, 2023, but it seems like woodhawk109 is done with modding at the moment, so figured I'd point this out in case you wished to incorporate that TROM update into your pack. This is a comment from the [TROM+TUP] Part 5 comment section on August 10, 2023:
woodhawk109: "Yeah, I'm not gonna even try to incorporate the new changes at this point. I'm so burnt out with 3K modding, I'm close to turning into the Human Torch. If any brave soul want to do that ,feel free to do so. It won't be me"

I would say this is a very large mod after you subscribe to all the parts. To get the full outlook of the mod though, i would refer you to the TROM page to actually see how many changes are in play.

@Ted Voon If i ever get the ambition, I will have to look into hero spawns for you. You could try one other mod though that might help with spawn dates but if you use that mod with TUP & TROM, i dont know what results you might get.

Try either TUP Family Tree Events or The Gathering Heroes. One of those two mods should at least have more realistic spawns.

You would have to discuss a change like that with that mod author though and unfortunately i think theyre about wrapped up on updating that mod anymore. They're mostly looking for bugs at this point and that's it.

Hi @Ted Voon and welcome to my mod page! So this mod is basically a duplicate mod minus a few tables being modified for compatibility.

Here is the original mod that this mod replaces:

So if you click that link, that is the mod you are essentially playing. Reason that is important is, this mod nor that one is compatible with year 182 or Eight Princes start dates.

So if you're playing the earliest campaign of 182, you will run into issues and for that i apologize. Their mod is so complex and large that it was too difficult to implement on those years. Also, their mod i think had all the correct hero births and appearances but one of their latest updates ramped up the timelines so some heroes would appear quicker.

hello! this is great collection, however i get issues when i fired up new campaign liu bei from the earliest era.

it doesnt have issues with save files though. let me know if you managed to fix

also, can you add a mod where impt heroes joined the main player's faction according to history? for example when ma chao and huang zhong joining liu bei at specific times

Please report any bugs. I don't think there will be any but my main focus is updating my main mod.Very little testing has been done, i just fired up a Dong Zhuo campaign, looked at the map, saw the very small color conflicts fixed, and that was about it. I just wanted to provide a patch for those that do want to play TUP + TROM plus my flags mod with no conflicts.
