I don’t get how this would cause a bricked save? This is the first time I’ve seen something like that be reported and your conclusion was this mod.

Honestly, knowing your background I don’t trust you enough (but I’m sure with a little bit of troubleshooting you can get your game up and running) to determine if this mod is causing an issue or not. Would need more reports.

When you search the discord for messages from his username, it returns exactly one result, in the welcome channel. That is the information I have available and it is the information I have formed an opinion with.

The mod page should be edited so that it doesn't declare these bugs are "high priority" and being worked on if they are not prioritized at all and not being worked on. My save is screwed because of this bug, and it's been a known major issue for 2 years. Either remove the city-wide function entirely or fix it. Leaving it up and broken isn't cool.

Don't use it. Unfortunately I cannot help because the author has been inactive, however he has helped in the past. And now I banned you because you're bad energy and I don't want you in my server regardless. I already told you that the author has been inactive and for you to DM him but you refused to follow my instructions and instead decided to check out the author's messages and failed to find he has helped people in the past.

DO NOT USE THE CITY-WIDE STYLE SETTING UNDER THE CITY INFORMATION PANEL.

You can NOT change your selections in there, they will be re-selected next time you load the save. This deletes ANY buildings placed outside of a district with an applied style, INCLUDING historical buildings, that aren't the selected city-wide style for that type of zoning (i.e. if you apply College Park as city-wide, ANY residential lots that ARENT in a district with a different style applied will be removed.)

This DESTROYS your city unless you district and style every single thing you place. It cannot be undone. It is a known issue, and it has not been addressed in 2 years.

Additionally, I got banned from the "support" discord for pointing out the mod creator has not even sent a single message to the discord and thus I would be surprised if they bothered to fix this mod after two years of silence.

Buildings don't spawn when style is applied :( Some do spawn but it is random so I have lots of residential zones and high demand for them but nothing is building on them. That's a pity cuz I really hoped this mod would work :(

Please fix the removing-style-does-not-save issue. It is killing my city. If I don't remember to go into the full city styles panel and remove the styles I assigned only for playing with before unlocking districts, it just...destroys everything. This is a huge, huge, huge, huge, huge bug that breaks the entire mod.

Update on the bug about renaming districts, it actually is not based on the name, but the location of the district, meaning that it seems to be impossible to remove a district style even after completely deleting a district and placing a new one in the same spot. The style persists and will delete your buildings

The third major bug is that, if you unselect your custom themes within a district (say, because you no longer want to use the theme and want to place custom assets or something), the theme will automatically reset upon launching your save again. This means that, going along with the first bug, all of your assets you placed in that zone will disappear (because, due to bug number 2, they weren't within the selected list). This also applies to completely deleting a district, placing a new district, and naming the district the same name. It seems like the theme memory persists. You must completely delete your district, and must not rename it exactly the same or else the theme will persist.

Just want to make everyone aware of these bugs because it has happened multiple times already where I try to remove a theme from a district and end up having all of my custom placed assets within the district disappear. Use with caution

The second, much more important bug, is that if there is a building within a district which you've applied a custom theme too, most buildings not in that theme will be deleted automatically. How is it that this bug exists when the above bug also exists I have no idea, but please keep this in mind, because this means that if you build a custom area and it is within another custom styled district, your placed assets will disappear.

Thanks for keeping the mod up, but I have to leave a warning here for anyone who wants to use this. I'm using Skyve and it is not detecting any compatibility issues, yet the mod doesn't really function properly in a few key ways. You can still get it to work, but please keep in mind the following bugs at this time. It is important that you know these up front, or else you may encounter these bugs the hard way.

The first is that, for some reason, even when selecting specific assets to place in a theme and applying that theme to a district, other buildings still spawn regardless of your theme. I'm not sure what causes this, and it definitely seems like the district will mostly spawn your selected assets, but it does not seem exclusive for some reason.

@wuyi0713 Thank you, and all good advice, but I am not enabling / disabling assets in game at all, and I am always quitting to desktop after booting up a modded save, so this is not causing the bug in this case

@Skeeepy everytime after enabling/disabling assets or mods in content manager, quit to desktop. Then boot up the game and open your save file. Also stop quitting to main menu or load a save while already in a save.

I'm having the same issue with EA. If I load a save that didn't have any DS Edits done, none of the buildings are assigned to any DS anymore, even the default ones have none.

@luxsciurus Those buildings require mutually exclusive district specializations, you can't mix them.

@jk2l, can you help me make district specialized buildings work using this mod? I want to mix Plazas and Promenade Wall-to-Wall(Residential) buildings and Green Cities Self-Sufficient buildings. It can be selected and included in the mod panel but applying it to districts only spawn vanilla default buildings. Is this possible to do using this mod?

@CallMeMcGee check the size of the empty lots and see if you have buildings in your custom district list that match that lot size.

Hello, when I have a custom district and I apply it, most of the buildings spawn and are build with the correct style. However, some of the building lots just stay empty forever and don't grow anything. Anyone have a fix for this?

@jk2l I have having an issue I load back into my save game, all the work I did in the DS Edit screen is gone and none of the buildings are assigned to styles anymore.

I need a fix for the most recent Cities Skylines update, buildings are not retaining the style I set on them and just place what ever they want.

Hello, I tried mixing Shopping Mall DLC commercial with Plazas and Promenade Commercial and Green Cities Organic produce using this mod, but only the shopping malls are spawning. Can this mod mix buildings from CCP and district specialization together? My goal is to make buildings from different DLC to spawn randomly in a district.

@jcc5018 that maybe doable, but as i mentioned in the notes. original intent is to take over to update to work with latest patch, plus doing some minor bug fixing. the original codes was quite complicate plus CS1 implementation also is difficult too. there are lot of things i am not fully understand and i think further updating this code can lead more instability. so i am leaning toward not really doing much update on this mod

i am happy if someone make a pull request and i do testing on it. if it works then i can merge and publish it.

hi, since you seem to have taken over this mod, I am wondering if you can include a missing functionality to make my life easier.
Mainly, display assets not yet in any collection.

Im trying really hard to organize my assets so creating neighborhoods of similarly themed buildings is more manageable but that basic lack of hiding items already in a style means i have to go through thousands of assets for every new style.

I'm not a c# programmer either, but I do web programming, so maybe i can help if you want.

Also a rename style option would be great.,

Hello, I'm new to using mods and don't really know anything about them. I downloaded this because I wanted to make custom district styles. When I tried to start a new save, I got this error message. How can I fix it?
