another simple fix can be to choose another reform on the same layer as the dutch republic reform and then click back on the dutch republic reform. I had the problem myself when I realized that the game does not check for government mechanics on each load. Instead, it checks it when you select a specific government reform. So for me, reselecting the same reform, if possible, solved the problem. (there is even a specific effect in the game that rechecks government mechanics, intriguing to say the least.)

you can go and double check if you are using another mod that also contains the government reform file that overrides the dutch republic reform of this mod. (the mechanic is enabled in the dutch republic government reform: common, government_reforms) Although it makes the most sense gameplay wise, I will probably incorporate the mechanic into a new government reform like how I did in some of the newer mechanics.

Another tool that i didn't have before was dalle and firefly. Originally I had to do all the icons in gimp but hopefully the gfx will be a lot easier in the future.

I will update this mod adter winds of change. It looks like it will be the last version of the game. I will revise some existing mechanics into Persia and upcoming netherlands. I have been playing some King of Kings and Origin right now so stay tuned. i am aiming for something like a month after the release.

This mod was amazing, unfortunately it seems to have become unplayable with recent patches - at least in my games HRE members are unable to vote for any candidate, causing dismantling on the first emperor death.

Any update, even one purely about keeping the mod playable would be wonderful!

To Cicero. I have not played an England game with the domination DLC yet, playing a lot of Suzerain recently. My modding plan right now is to wait out until the next DLC. I love to do some new estates. I once dreamt of Austrian Empire with a hungarian noble estate, stuff like what you are talking about. I think Mamluks and Persia in Europa Expanded has an interesting take on them. (especially persia, great content to study for a lot of modding stuff) I am also waiting to see what paradox do in the next DLC about persia. (I would love to bring the old estates tied to province mechanic back for some localization, but maybe there are more complex solutions to this simple problems)

To Olenyeva2. All of the government power thing should be in the static modifier file. It is a value that you define in your government ability file, and then you can link it to other modifiers, such as prosperity or corruption under static modifiers, or indeed any modifiers.(its logically plausible)

Hello everyone, back in the states now and back on modding maybe. Riwebo please take this idea and make it flourish. Will love seeing a tall netherlands. Persia thing might get paused because paradox is working on an official dlc about it. (I was just selfish because I wanted to play a persia game with some more mechanics so I modded some myself.) I also don't know how to specifically reply to a comment posted so I will just go by names here.

I love the concept of this! What about enlisting privateers for UK during the 16th-18th centuries? Perhaps its a mechanic similar to prussia/russia.Think this would add some nice flavor to british gameplay that is drastically overlooked.

war of the roses could use overhaul. this was a civil war, it'd be interesting to have provinces secede from the britain (like danzig event)

estates should also be reworked/overhauled:
1) Yeoman (kind of like cossacks, buffs/nerfs to land, firepower of infantry for "longbow training")
2) Merchant Adventurers (burghers, but with more buffs to trade)
3) Landed Country Gentleman (similar to burghers, construction/taxation/administration)
4) Barons (similar to to nobility, but rework "villainage" to the "peerage", grant a sizeable influence , include some special privliges (Council de Baronage), and allow for manpower buffs for tax income nerfs or something like that)
4) Clergy - honestly fine
5) Overseas Companies - late addition

this is a cool mod and has potential! Hope to see it fleshed out further in the future. Although, this mods messes with monuments and causes this purple triangle to appear on the monument picture.

Busy finals week here. Will probably hit you up the next few days. I got the localization issue partially done. It was a decoding problem, I just had to write it in a more advance text editor. (I am not using Notepad since I am on mac)
