This is the perfect example of fan content rivaling the source material. CoTD: Redux follows common principles found in great fan content: 1) it follows the anti-bad filler rule of being self-contained enough as to not alter the canonical timeline while still feeling important by filling in the pieces of an up-to-interpretation aspect of the story 2) It brings back the claustrophobic horror of L4D1. The campaign brilliantly uses tight corridors, horde infested man holes, walkways, clinical staircases and general uneasiness. The only thing Ill allude to that falls under light spoiler territory is what the creator did with a certain special infected in a very early chapter (wont tell you which), that left me feeling it disturbed, grind-housey, and vile but I say this as a positive, Great art makes you feel a variety of emotions and for this custom campaign to have had me feel all of that is great credit to the creator, awesome stuff. 3) Its fun. Easily a new favorite.

One of a few maps I want to play over and over again. Haven't tried it on expert yet, but advanced seems easy, too easy. Maybe because I play it on our modded server with classes and maybe that's what makes it easier than some other maps. Still, with the right people in team who want to actually explore and hunt for easter eggs instead of speedrunning it, this map is such a delight to play. <3

versus map pretending to be campaign. this sucks micarious asscheeks. bottomless pits everywhere, redundant ass buildings that lead nowhere and waste time. this map makes me wanna spray scolding diarrhea all over my pc before launching feces projectiles. this map is so bad it makes me wanna stick my head up my ass and choke on my own farts. post comment

Very enjoyable campaign, challenging but fair, definitely on par with some of the official ones.

Got an update for ya mate.

I played the campaign again and was able to clock in an hour and a half of game-play and managed to finish your map. Suffice to say, it was most likely on my end as I disabled a couple of recently added mods; since they were plaguing me and I have had smooth running's from there.

No worries, appreciate you getting back to me. I have done some configuring with my current add ons and have just played through a different custom campaign and had no problems.

I will try and play your campaign again because I genuinely enjoy the vibe of it, so ill give it another shot. Most likely on my end as I have had issues with Day Break as well. Seems to always crash on the second chapter of any custom campaign. Ah well

It's likely an addon, sometimes it just pushes L4D2 past it's limits. Regardless, I'll have a look and see if i can recreate the issue on my end in case the issue is with the map itself.

Keeps crashing after first chapter. Might have to do with my add ons, but I can play other custom campaigns just fine.

@JuicePack They now only show up when the steps for the Easter egg hunt in the previous maps were done in map 1 and 2

The secret coins in the fourth map don't appear, they used to show up but now I can't find them anymore

Great map. The map is HUGE and you can literally get lost when exploring, especially if it's your first time playing, but the map does show a buncha arrows showing where you're supposed to go.

And if you do explore, the map rewards you with a buncha supplies, including laser sights. As the name suggests, the city is full of infected and there's like a crazy amount of explosives, so feel free to use them every 2 minutes lol.

Also, the finale is great. Lots of areas to climb and holdout from the infected, lots of supplies too. And I like how clear the map shows where the chopper will land.

I really appreciate you putting the console commands for the maps.

Found secrets!
There's a secret room in the severs which is accessed via graffiti in the room with an intense red light before sliding down.
There's also an interactable thing in the room with boxes,safe and sorry graffiti and a dead body with a gun next to it the final safe room.

@Y-17 It shouldn’t be possible for the ladders to stop working, I wasn’t able to recreate the issue either. Which ladder did this happen with? And are there any conflicts with the map in the addons menu?

i really love the feature in the finale where if youre at the lowest level of the building all the ladders stop working when the chopper arrivers so youre just stuck down there XD

I've released a small patch to fix the issue, Versus should be working correctly now

Broken in Vs. Mode. it was a fine campaign before. One of my favorites, but the splitting into two files ruined a lot.
