Like others, I would recommend a soundtrack to enhance the atmosphere and experience. I was also confused for some time over the vagueness of the potion clues; I assume that was the point. I would suggest changing one of the ingredient names to 'Peppermint Flavoring' or 'Peppermint Schnapps'. I had to look up the answer to 'Drops of water, undead's bane', it didn't even occur to me that there would be a process to it. And I suppose I should pick up a book more, I had to look up the definition of acridity. Finally, I didn't know where to put the sword after releasing it from the stone.
However, as most of these issues existed between keyboard and chair, kudos to the creator for making a real headscratcher of an escape room. I had a great time!
The zodiac puzzle was tricky, I didn't immediately co-related the colors with the books and ended up brute forcing the zodiac puzzle by combining the cards while they were laying on the floor. I was thinking that there should be a mirror or a way to rotate the wheel on the floor. It was only after matching the lines that I noticed what they formed. Was going for a pentagram in the beginning.
Anyway, cool room. Congrats.
I'm extremely busy at the moment as I'm a teacher in the UK and I'm helping kids get ready for the exams.
Once again thank you all so much, I had no idea this would become as subscribed to as it has and I greatly appreciate all of your support and tips. Next room coming to a Steam workshop near you in the near future! :)
The "full" animation made me think I was getting the sweet line wrong. Turns out I had one too many ingredients because I thought the water line was two separate ingredients.
I removed the sword but the chest did not close so I could not get it.
Some issues:
Peppermint is not really sweet unless sugar is added. Pumpkin juice is, though.
Essence of spider's feast (fly blood) is on the list, but not in the walkthrough.
The telescope can be opened by clicking on the lens cover without solving the lock.
Entering letters in the spellbook is quite fidgety. I really wish they were a little bigger.
1-Ground Humerus
2-Phoenix Tears
3-Coagulated Fly blood
4-Holy Water
5-Octopus ink
6-Sloth
7-Peppermint
8-Vinegar
But also, ingredient #7 could be the wine or eggnog, and ingredient #8 could be vinegar or sardines, or like literally anything else. Again, too many of the available ingredients could match the clue leaving way too many permutations to test. I don't mind a little ambiguity, and trying to figure out maybe 1 or 2 ingredients but until I clicked the hint, I wouldn't have thought of octopus ink for deep blackened sea night's stain.
Otherwise, this is an very well designed room!
I think that the in-game walkthrough hasn't been fully fixed: It's a bug with the new hint system itself where a hint can't be too long otherwise it cuts off.
The potion ingredients hint either needs less words or to be split into 2+ hints.
