Haha, you are spot on! They have now unlocked it in patch 4.0. So my mod is no longer necessary to use these things if you're playing the latest version of the game.

Hello Beast-Storm. Apologies for not responding earlier, I've been off on summer vacation. If you roll back your version to pre 3.7, my mod will almost certainly not work for you. Since that's before this room and cityscape were added to the game.

My mod is very simple, and just points to files that already exist in order to allow you to access them. But these gfx files were added in First Contact, so they won't exist if you're running 3.6.1

Their was one other mod I forgot to mention I subscribed to its the Werekin from Legion but I unsubscribed that mod because it was only showing the Werebear

As for my test on unsubscribing a room mod, it didn't work

I guess what ever mod I subscribed to had damaged the code from spawning in the game :/

The Solarpunk city and room don't appear on my empire creation, the only thing I see that solarpunk does exist is this cityset is replaced with a Plantoid cityset, that's it

I recently rolled back Stellaris from version 3.8 to 3.6.1 (for personal reason)

I tried unsubscribing and re-subscribing, didn't work

I also added these mods recently:
UNSC Humans (created by using AI generated art)
SoCool Species
The Shogunite Humans (Standalone from Legion)
Imperial Humans
United Earth Humans

It might be possible I might have reach the limit of how many rooms the game allows

Is it possible for you to make a 3.6.1 Legacy version?

I will have to unsubscribe one or two room mods and see if this works

You're right, it would remove the replaced cityscape as an option in game but, on the bright side, any civ that normally uses that scape will use solar punk, so that's pretty neat I guess.

I added a note to the description, explaining to people how they can still use my mod and still get achievements. So they don't need to search through the comments. :)

Ah, that makes sense. That was the only potential way that popped into my head, too. But, then, that would remove those existing cityscapes as options, right? For me, that doesn't sound worth it. Especially not when you can already play ironman by simply making your empire with my mod on and then turning the mod off before starting your game.

But I can see how someone might consider it worth it for a mod for which that method doesn't work.

They get around it by directly overwriting the GFX for existing cityscapes. Basically, you just make it have the same file name and location as an existing GFX file, and it will replace that file without affecting the checksum.

@Rohzdear I can't speak for other cityscape mods or how they work. But it's unrelated to the assets themselves. It's because, to make them selectable options I have to do so in the graphical cultures in the Common folder. Which is used to calculate checksum.

I have no idea how other cityscape mods get around that, if they do. But if one of them would like to get in touch with me, I'd be happy to accept the help.

Wait, so why is this mod Not Achievement Compatible when other Cityscape mods are?
Is it because it uses the original resource of the Solarpunk Empire rather than duplicating the cityscape as it's own original asset?

You can create custom empire, save it, then disable the mod and it will be Ironman compatible.
Or just edit the user_empire_designs file and change city_graphical_culture="mammalian_01" into solarpunk_01
There are also preindustrial_01 and industrial_01 cities, first looks like Naboo, second is steampunk

Nom offense to the creators of the Elves of Stellaris mod, but this cityset is far better than the one they use for the elves in their mod (Elven City).

for anyone wondering: this mod is not Ironman compatible, Achievments will be disabeld

it's becouse Paradox, for some reasons trully beyond comprehension, placed graphical cultures that allow to use city graphics in common folder, that is used to calculate checksum.

You can still use room and get achievments tho. Just delete "common" folder in mod's directory

also thanks to author for doing what had to be done <3
