Unfortunately I have no plans to recreate this map, or any maps for that matter, in skylines 2. I'm quite simply too busy nowadays with other responsibilities so I don't really have the time needed to do map projects anymore, at least in the foreseeable future. Sorry :/
your name right)
Only vanilla roads are used here. The highways have been laid down with a bit tighter spacing than what vanilla allows though, giving a slightly cleaner appearance. Use the Network Anarchy mod if you want to disable the collisions to be able to place roads without collision being a limiting factor. Hope this helps! :)
Restarting the Map with a new city worked. Now everything runs without problems.
Seemed to be an AI issue as you said.
Just glad that it works so I can expand!
Thanks for your help!
The mods you're using shouldn't be an issue, but you never know.
To me this just sounds like a game quirk where the AI for some reason has driven itself into a dead end. Also I don't think it's map specific, as if the map worked normally for quite some time, it has most likely to do with a mod that starts taking over more as the city grows, or like I said before, just the game AI itself bugging out. Regardless of the cause, it's an inconvenience and restarting is always (or at least usually) a "meh experience".
Glad to hear you enjoyed the map though! Hopefully by restarting you won't see the same issue recur.
Yeah unfortunately I still have the issue... It´s like no public service building is getting supplies from outside.
I am using the same mods I use on the other maps (TMPE, MoveIt, Road anarchy, 25 Tiles, And a lot of custom assets.) - so maybe that is why
I will restart the "map" with a new city and see if the problem continues to be there.
But apart from that, the map looks awesome and i enjoyed playing on it before the issue!
Sorry for the late response. Are you still having this issue? Did you test any other maps if it's map specific or not? To me this sounds like an AI issue, are you using any mods that alter the sims AI, for example TMPE or some supply control mods?
Regarding the highway usage, the game AI always takes the shortest route, meaning the cars will shortcut through a downtown instead of using the highway if the downtown route is calculated to be shorter / faster, so if you've set up roads that make a shorter path to wherever the cars are going to, this could be a reason for that issue you're having.
@VEeR gg & TarkieTheBoss,
Thank you for your kind words! All feedback is always very much appreciated! :)
1. Public services, especially graveyards do not send our their cars anymore. The number changes between 1 and 2 all the time.
2. Power plants (Oil AND Coal) do not receive any supplies!
3. The northern highway (Consisting of highway ramps only) is not used at all. Cars or trucks do not take the highway. Even after I demolished and reconnected it.
4. Industry buildings do not have any raw materials...
Its like from one second to another, nothing works anymore...
Do you know why?
Have you by chance tested reloading (fresh save) the map, re-subscribing to the map ("reinstall"), or tested any of my other maps if the issue is creator specific or just this single map?
I tried a little brute force. I changed the interchanges to force them into the city (no continuing on the highway). They got into the city and at the first road possible, they turned around and returned to the highway.
Are you using any mods by chance? Could have something to do with an outdated mod or an AI mod not working properly, but honestly I don't have any solid ideas as to what could be causing the issue. Did you try forcing a larger population / building a larger city to try and sort of brute force traffic into the city?
I know it's a nuisance and unfortunately I don't have any potential solutions for resolving it other than the usual, going through your mods and trying to figure out if you can pinpoint which one is causing it - which is quite a lot of work, and might not be worth the effort if the map is working normally other than just the resource view.
It's interesting that you encounter the issue only on this specific map. Have you tried other maps which were made by me? Just thinking if it could have something to do with any mods that I've had active while making the maps, albeit I have always kept them to a minimum, basically using anarchy and road mods only.
Hi there! Glad to hear you like the map :)
I remember having the same exact issue with the resource viewer some years ago; unfortunately I never came to a conclusion of what the culprit for the issue was, as at some point the resource viewer just started working normally again. I'd expect it to have something to do with some mod, and it probably resolved itself on my end when I either disabled or subscribed to a newer version of a mod. I do recall the resources working as intended for me though, regardless of the broken resource viewer.
I have not set up any donation options, I might set them up some day but as of now I'm just happy to see people enjoying my work! :) Have fun building! I appreciate the gesture!
To edit the shipping connections, I think Network Anarchy has the functionality built in. Meaning using that mod, you can edit the connections in-game and won't have to actually edit the map, since editing the map also wouldn't affect the current save game you have. It varies what people have done when saying "re-drawing the connections", but the most foolproof way to re-draw a connection is to re-draw it from as close as possible to the map's edge, all the way to the desired location in one continuous draw to avoid possible broken nodes etc.
I hope this helps, if you need help or clarification on anything, feel free to ask! I'm always happy to help :)
PS. the 1000 character limit on the comments here is ridiculously low, resulting in only having to split the responses into two messages
Yeah sounds like mods are definitely not to blame here, very interesting. I wonder if verifying the integrity of game files would have an effect (and starting a fresh city after doing so), but I kind of doubt it though so probably not worth the trouble, especially if you're decently far into the game already.
For the drawing connections, how to do that? Is it from editing the map? After edit would it take effect on my current saved city using the map?
Thanks for your prompt replay as always!
30 years is - I'd say - a long enough time. Very interesting why for some people the connections seem to break. Are you using any mods that might have an effect on the connections? Just trying to figure out if there's an actual culprit for the issue. Also, did you try re-drawing the connections like a few others have done here?
Another issue is that I have what other players described - no outside cruise coming in, gave it a fairly long time (30 years) and messed with ship budgets too, still not working.. Any ideas?
"
Just following up on the air and cruise problems in case anyone else faces them. I still can't get incoming cruise traffic into the inner harbour but in the area facing the open ocean, I get a good flow of in and out traffic when a bus line is connected between the cruise dock and the central city.
For the flight paths, I deleted the incoming lines and redrew them from edge to edge in a cross like many of the flight paths in the standard maps. This introduced flight traffic flowing through the map and the airports are getting traffic in and out now.
"
There are plane routes! They're simply small strips on the edges of the map. The reason why I draw air routes like this is the airplane behavior; if you have an airport directly under (or close to) an air route, the airplanes will "take off" from the air route from point on the route that is closest to the airport and this causes the airplanes to fly in a spiral to lose the altitude in order to land on the airport. By drawing only small "entrance paths" on the edges of the map as air routes, the planes dispatch from the plane route far away and this allows for a more realistic descend and avoids the spiraling effect. The airport should be able to connect to the routes regardless of how far they are. I hope this helps!
Thanks, glad you like the map! Regarding the sewage, by putting the sewage on the other side I mean the two separate bodies of water. The "lake" to which the river you're talking about connects to, is not actually in contact with the main bay waterfront - the highway separates the bodies of water. So for example, place drawing pumps on the northern side (towards the river) of the start square, and place your sewage pumps to the southern side of the start square, on the main bay waterfront. I hope this clarifies it, apologies for the delayed response.
