Can confirm what Battlespark said. I checked it with debugtooltip. It creates an empty event popup and everytime you close it it will open again. It even crashed my game once.

Released a patch that fixes:
- Espionage operation 'stage_a_coup' does not have the expected number of stages
- Naming macros in localizations not being parsed correctly

Will the target empire be notified of who assassinated their ruler or is it left anonymous?

Great mod. Would it make sense/be possible to reduce stability and increase crime on the planet when the ruler is killed. When there is a coup, same thing should happen to both the old country and the new country too.

Did you make sure that you edited the correct file? Maybe try to edit all of them if you are not sure.

If removing [This.MainDefender.GetAdj] does not help, I do not know why it would even show this

View the mod files and open the localisation folder

Find your language and open the file with a text editor (for example visual studio code or notepade++) for example for english edit "stage_a_coup_l_english.yml"


Edit to value of NAME_stage_a_coup_war to your liking:

NAME_stage_a_coup_war: "Civil War New Message"

Anyone know how to fix the localisation? I've tried doing it myself but still got the MainDefender name for the war.

Localisation is an easy fix, even if you don't know modding, the wiki has a guide and the localisation breaking also tells you what you need to look for in the file (the unlocalised string)

Really good mod and only one of its kind, only issue been having is the localisation problem that the guy below been having but besides that it's a perfect mod to fix my geopolitics fantasy

it seems assassinate ruler operation now targets random leader in 3.8. We tried it in multplayer and the targeted ruler died after, like, 20 years. Definitely now from successful operation, BTW it would be great to choose who to kill with new leaders system. At least amongs council members.

Could you make it so corporate authority is still able to spread their ethos? You could do it the way the ideology war works so that when the ethos and government gets copied, it gets changed to an oligarchy if they're a corporate authority.

This mod is good but def needs a 15 year cooldown at least. Been having a blast but being able to spam this can dissolve any strong empire very quickly.

I think the unlimited version of this mod makes the most sense "realism" wise but perhaps there could be a 10-20 year cooldown in between the events, to simulate heightened vigilance in the enemy government after a recent attempt.

Would it be possible via event to manage a coup before it spreads into an all-out rebellion if targeted by an AI or other player? Perhaps via a situation (that the instigator could maybe spy on?)
