Hey Ruby, when you get around to redoing Reach Rebalanced, do you plan on redoing some of the very unenthusiastic background marine voice acting? I'd be interested in voicing some lines if so

This is THE way to play CE. If I was to introduce someone to the franchise through CE, this is now my way. Fuel Rod, Energy Sword, Flamethrower, seamleasly put into the levels and feel great in combat.

Odst's with shotguns squad up beside you for genuinely competent AI faction battles, the increased enemy count makes you feel like its an actual war, rather than a lone gunman chief against a few squads. Nothing was changed betrays the original vision.

The environments have been tweaked a bit for more flavour, floodified walls and tentacles sprout where they nest, dead corpses litter rooms where battles took place, crates and boxes fill once empty corridors.

I love the little details like the gravemind speaking in a ominous line in a specific room in the maw, a woman crying in a language i can't understand in keyes. great stuff.

I think the library is still pretty bad but this mod does it's best despite to rectify its flawed design. I also miss the energy swords lunge :(

the wraith in the library is kind of a crapshoot, enemies constantly take potshots at you and your firing speed is way too slow to deal with all the little enemies that can somehow two shot your vehicle,

Ruby at least 3 sources in the leaking community and dev talk communities are stating the Campaign evolved team is playing this and combat revolved for flow ideas. So congrats you are offically one of the three best ways to play CE.

@Spaghettacus The other game rebalances were made before this game had proper modding tools. So every update 343 released would break the mod. Now that those tools are available, mods can be preserved through updates. And so Ruby of Blue is going through and rebuilding each of his overhauls with the mod tools. He is currently in the later end of Halo 2. His rebalance is going to take longer than just restoring old mods though. Cause his ambition has grown with the ability these tools give him.

You might be able to play the other overhauls by finding them on the Nexus and then reverting MCC to a beta version that it was made for. But it would not be an easy thing to do.

Mini review: Ruby's re balanced mod promises to re balances a 25 year old game to make it even better and I would say he succeeded in it. Played on legendary solo I can confidently say that Ruby's re balanced mod is a must in 2025 and I would even go as far to say that you should only play Ruby's mod instead of vanilla Halo CE (2001). This mod is adds more encounters, environmental changes and new enemies to fight to with hidden encounters, weapons and vehicles to man. Even on legendary enemies felt just right and every death that happened were mostly my faults. A few negatives, In The Assault on the Control room due to levels length there are few health packs for the players to take and the lack of checkpoints which is frustrating, sometimes I would play for 15 min and clear a whole section but the game refuses to give me a checkpoint but despite of its checkpoints the mod is very enjoyable. And lastly Major Jackals felt overpowered. Recommended from me.

Question from someone who knows nothing about modding. How big of a task would it be to convert Halo 2 to Halo CE graphics? Would it be pretty much remaking the entire game or just swapping textures? I have been dreaming of entire Halo series made in CE graphics because the first games atmosphere is what i associate as Halo the most.
When I use the Chinese dub, the English voice is still played. Could the author please fix this issue:MCCHELMET:

Thank you for making this. This was such a fun, welcoming experience to play going in blind. The reveal on the halo ring after getting the warthog left me giggling like a schoolgirl haha. such a refreshing take on the campaign. The ONLY problem I had was a bug I experienced where the game seems to freeze if I pause during a cutscene. Overall probably my favorite mod on the site

Does anyone know if youre able to fight with the marines dyuring the Silent Cartographer mission. Specifically where Foehammer mentions to 2 enemy dropships closing in on the LZ?

Outside of the original XBOX game, this feels like the best way to play Halo: Combat Evolved. There's so much love and attention put into this, and in many aspects I prefer it over the original. The only thing I wish Ruby didn't change was the ability to one-shot hunters. If only there was a way to have given it a low chance of working, but I understand his design decisions.

@Fist Full of Crimson I can confirm there is a usable energy sword in Library, not sure why the energy swords dropped from elites aren't usable unless it was intentional for balance or was broken by an mcc update? I haven't played earlier versions so I don't know whether or not you could pick them up in the past

other than the amount of flood that have shotguns and rocket launchers which is a blessing and a curse, this mod is awesome LMAO. Also those tentacle things that shoot plasmas when you kill them are hilarious

They are not infinite spawning, That said bringing a plasma pistol on keys is really really important. there is only 2 infinite spawn points for flood in teh game, one on the library and one at the very end of the game.

Its fun on legendary until you start having to deal with shield flood all the ♥♥♥♥♥♥♥ time. I quite playing at keys they are litterally ♥♥♥♥♥♥♥ everywhere and infinte spawning until you move up paired with it is ♥♥♥♥♥♥♥ stupid.

In the game, some of the scene card words clip into each other. Also on Two Betrayals, some of the subtitles are listed as the soundfiles that play, not the actual dialog. Is my game bugged or is it the MCC Update?

"Halo CE how you remember it, not how it actually was", IMO. Repetitive environments and encounters spiced up, bad weapons made actually useful, and enemies given more variants and consistent difficulty - add all that up and you get Halo with a more varied and fun sandbox, as it always should have been. Good fun to play coop!

Haven't completed it yet but my god, this brings back some feelings man. You did a superb job on this, I can tell a lot of sweat and hours have been poured into this masterpiece, you really outdid yourself and made a unique experience that enhanced the original vision. Taco all of those are more or less on pause, he is working on H2 right now. and that one went from a rebalance to a full on rebuild do to just how broken H2 was.

I am also no longer seeing the option under campaigns as normal with anti cheat off and both ce campaign and multiplayer installed, Is there something I am doing wrong on this update?

Hey! I love this mod. But I think today's patch on MCC might've broken it. I am trying to launch the game like how I normally do but when I click on "Halo CE: Anniversary" in the campaigns list I don't see "BUILT IN" and "RUBY'S REMASTERED ...". Instead it just takes me to the normal menu which has resume, quickstart, missions, playlists. Any help please? Thanks!
