It is making Retributors fire yellow for me, so it sounds like you may have another mod active that is messing with it. I have sent you a Steam friend request so I can help you track down what is causing it. Also check my collections as the load order for those may give you a clue as to what you could re-order or disable to fix the issue.

meltas used by sos retributors and on their city core and basically all other units that use melta weapons still fire a red beam the mod does make las weapons red though

Which meltas is it not working with? I have not played in a while, so maybe the way the colours are applied as been changed in a patch.

I would have to check which novel it was exactly, by I also remember one where it is even stated that a combined force of Guard and Ultramarines fought the Greenskins and Las beams of all kind of colour were used.

So my guess would also be that it simply depends on which pattern of las weapon it is.
It does not even depend on the size...like rifles are red and cannons are blue or anything.
There is no "right" or "wrong" here...even though it might be frustrating.

Hello everyone,

hope you don't mind that I will add to your discussion.
The game Warhammer Armageddon made all Imperial Las weapons blue while Sanctus Reach made them red. Both are published by Slitherine so even on a publisher by publisher basis it's not consistent.
I am also fairly certain the art for the Imperial Laser Destroyer Tank from one of the old "Imperial Armor" books shows again a cyan/blusih beam.
The Gaunt's Ghost novels describe Ibrahim Gaunt's Las Pistol as firing blue shots.
The novel Helsreach about the 2nd Armageddon War describes the shots from Las Rifles simply as migrane inducing bright.

Well it can also play into the different variants of the weapons, since just as an example lascannons have seven notable different patterns but that's not counting every single lascannon variant that's floating around out in 40K as there's even makeshift variants built by the Necromunda gangs which probably fire a pure white color if I had to make a guess.

Even Chaos is going to be having more bluish colored lascannon shots purely because the majority of their weaponry dates all the way back to the Horus Heresy thus also haven't been maintained as much as they should have been versus being purple so Dawn of War had that wrong likely because Relic wanted to make sure people could tell the two sides apart in the gameplay department, but that can also be explained that the warp itself is making up the purple coloring of the shots.

I had not considered the Inquisition angle. I actually loaded up Dawn of War 2 last night to check and at least with the Death Korps of Krieg DLC on the Lasguns fire yellow and red and the Lascannons are blue just to make things even more confusing. :steamfacepalm:

@Tirrikface
Or it might just depend on which part of the Imperium military is using them, since Darktide features the Inquisition and the equipment provided is thus owned by the Inquisitors chances are they are going to be dealing a bit more punch than your average lasgun.

That's really strange, but I guess it's not that surprising considering how large the franchise is, game devs do tend to take small artistic liberties for the sake of readability during gameplay and stuff, thanks for looking into it though sure is interesting

After further research it seems like the codices artwork has the Las fire as yellow, which is why it is that way in Gladius. I have spent so many hundreds of hours playing Dawn of War that seeing Lasguns as anything other than red just feels really wrong to me. Bizarrely the Lasguns in Darktide fire red, so it seems like both colours are used depending on the source you are looking at.

Ok so for some reason the Fusion Blaster on the Piranha mostly uses the Melta effects (instead of the orange Fusion ones that the Fusion Guns and Pistols use). For now I have set the Fusion Blaster to the Las visuals used in this mod, so the Fusion Blaster in this mod will be red like the Las. Is red the canon colour for the Fusion Blaster? When I have looked around on the net they mostly seem to be portrayed as having blue vents and fire (which I could set in this mod).

Doing all the weapons separately would make the mod larger and less efficient so I have avoided it for now. If it turns out there are lots of other weapons that do not have Las or Melta in their names, but use their effects, then I will make the mod much more complex and specific for each weapon.

I know sod all about Tau so I did not realise this would be an issue (because I did not realise they have Meltas), so thank you for bringing this to my attention. I should be able to fix it by setting each Imperial Melta to yellow separately instead of the entire Melta group as a whole. I will have a look at it now.

There's no way to decouple the T'au's "Melta" weapons from the others is there? Feels strange seeing the Pirana w/ yellow beams xD
