Walden Jun 7, 2020 @ 6:26am
Could you please add the download link?
Jiang Zemin May 7, 2020 @ 11:14pm
With this mod I can finally deal with obesity.
Gikgik  [author] Aug 8, 2019 @ 2:09pm
Will re-upload and try to get to work.
rsoyxihnark Aug 3, 2019 @ 2:43am
crashes.
Xaelyn Aug 9, 2018 @ 3:56am
The crash is caused by a missing " at the end of the sport scandal event file.
C94.8-97.11 Jul 30, 2018 @ 6:22pm
Hata verdiriyor! :(
Gikgik  [author] Jul 7, 2016 @ 3:54pm
That is strange...
Will probably update Migration. Haven't put much attention to Social Engineering Plus.
Sulphuric_Glue Aug 10, 2015 @ 7:22am
I guess, but it could also reduce Antisocial Behaviour by engaging teenagers in something other than shouting at other people, and it would fill everyone with a friendly competitive spirit.
Gikgik  [author] Aug 10, 2015 @ 7:20am
Sport audiences cause noise and littering around the arenas. Can easily be countered through police and CCTV.
Sulphuric_Glue Aug 9, 2015 @ 12:47pm
Sports Venues should not increase Antisocial Behaviour. Why does it do this? Please get it fixed.
Gikgik  [author] Mar 21, 2015 @ 8:09pm
Version 1.12:
* New policy: Fitness Tax Credit
* New dilemmas: Hooligan Act, Pro-drug band on tour, and Grassroot Sport Clubs
* New sound for sport events

I suggest the inclusion of mega events policy. events such as superbowl, soccer world cup, rugby world and etc.
To have such an event you need a minimum structure established and would affect how everyone persives the county (+everyone, +patriots) and is an incentive for health (+health).
It would also affect other areas by the investment focus necessary to such an event (-gdp, +/- education)
Gikgik  [author] Dec 3, 2014 @ 4:12am
No dilemmas to bid for sport events. The chance to host an event is increased by the Sport Venues and Gambling sliders.

There are dilemmas about Combat Sport and Dog Racing, though.
Krombopulos Michael Dec 2, 2014 @ 8:37am
Does this Mod have choices/situations (not sure of the term) where you can choose to bid for the Olympics or other sporting events (FIFA World Cup)?
Gikgik  [author] Oct 21, 2014 @ 9:10pm
Version 1.11: Dog Racing event. Some balancing.
Gikgik  [author] Aug 10, 2014 @ 4:12pm
Thanks for your ideas. I will try to include some of them.
HansTheHuman Aug 9, 2014 @ 11:46am
Very well, here I go:
The mod I had in mind would revolve around a Simulation value called 'Athletism'. This would represent the level of athletic culture among the population, rather than how physically fit it is which, I imagine, is represented by the Health simulation. High levels of Athletism would increase Health and make it more likely for a 'International Games Victory' event to occur which pleases Patriots (similar to the Nobel Prize event).

Policy ideas:
Public Gyms - Open gyms up to the public similar to public libraries.
Fitness Subsidies - Subsidies for exercise equipment and fitness training activities.
National Marathon - Hold public marathons. Angers Motorists due to closed roads.
Sports Club Subsidies - Give subsidies to sports clubs so they can afford better equipment and train better athletes.

Thank you for hearing out my ideas. You'll probably do a better job anyway!
Gikgik  [author] Aug 9, 2014 @ 10:21am
Yes, please. Hopefully they can be incorporated.
HansTheHuman Aug 9, 2014 @ 7:24am
I was planning to do something like this, but you beat me to it!
Would you like to hear the ideas I had?
Gikgik  [author] Aug 3, 2014 @ 5:10am
Updates with version 1.10:
* Sport Venues are 50% more expensive.
* Sport Venues no longer enrage Capitalists. The major drawback is the cost; se discussion below.
* Health and Obesity effects are more regressive, and Foreign Relations effects are more progressive. Small sport venues are more focused on physical exercise; large sport venues are more focused on professional events.
* Balancing of events.
Gikgik  [author] Aug 3, 2014 @ 3:58am
If something is sold to the highest bidder, the price is, by definition, what it was worth.

Gameplay-wise, that would be represented by pulling the Sport Venues slider to maximum (building the stadium) and then pull it down to zero (selling the stadium).
SHRIKE Aug 3, 2014 @ 3:39am
privatisation is where a government owned sector (in this case the olympic stadium) is sold off to the highest bidder - usually for a price cheaper than it was worth.
If the olympic stadium was originally funded by a private company then it would be privately owned from the start and would therefore be a part of private industry.
Gikgik  [author] Aug 3, 2014 @ 2:47am
If the government builds and owns stadiums, it's not privatization. Privatization would be represented by not having a Sport Venues budget at all.
SHRIKE Aug 3, 2014 @ 1:12am
that should be socialists getting upset then because they are the ones who dislike public money going to waste - capitalists are pro privatisation, and privatisation means publicly owned things being sold off for less than they are worth to the capitalists.

For example, the amount of taxpayers money that went into building the olympic stadium in 2012 was in the tens of millions; however the year after the olympics the stadium was sold off to Qatarian capitalists for less than half of what is was worth. :P
Gikgik  [author] Aug 1, 2014 @ 1:21pm
Capitalists dislike waste of tax money that is not carefully used to promote business. Many large stadiums built today are not commercially viable, and are in the end paid by tax money.
SHRIKE Jul 31, 2014 @ 10:06am
why does this hurt capitalists?
ChimiChingus: HumongusChongus Jul 30, 2014 @ 11:52pm
Finally someone did this. Figures it was you.
Garynt99 Jul 30, 2014 @ 2:27am
Thank You! Maybe when I get the hang of this and make a mod, Ill let you try it
Gikgik  [author] Jul 30, 2014 @ 1:53am
Garynt99 Jul 30, 2014 @ 1:45am
I seen them and they all lookl good and basic. How do you create mods?
Gikgik  [author] Jul 30, 2014 @ 1:30am
I have made many of them; look for "Palace Mod", "Superpower", "Tooth for a Tooth" and "Crime and Punishment".
Garynt99 Jul 30, 2014 @ 1:26am
Thanks for the info. Do you have any other mods? Or know how to make them?
Gikgik  [author] Jul 30, 2014 @ 1:18am
Sport Venues decrease Obesity.

They have currently no effect on alcohol consumption, though the issue is interesting. According to a Swedish report, young people who do team sports start drinking at a lower age than other young people.
Garynt99 Jul 30, 2014 @ 1:13am
Can Sport Venues reduce Obesity as well as increase alcohol consumption?
Gikgik  [author] Jul 29, 2014 @ 8:20pm
Foreign Relations increase International Trade and Tourism, which improve GDP.
tastybaldeagle Jul 26, 2014 @ 1:05pm
This should increase the GDP a smidge, no? Maybe add a small boost to something else. I don't know.
