Strong hikigane is pretty ridiculous, it kills light characters at 90% and medium characters around 100%, lasts forever and has a huge hitbox. It's easy to avoid which makes it somewhat fair. However, the hitbox for it could be trimmed off a bit from the flame, or have a separate hitbox for the flame which also would be strong, but not kill as early and send at a more diagonal angle while Kyo's fist would be like the original hikigane where it'd retain the same kill power. The hitbox of Kyo's air side b almost makes no sense to be that big, even if his recovery kind of sucks. A slight vertical reduction would be fine. Kyo's air hurtbox doesn't match up with the animation.

Overall, I think this character is great, but doesn't feel too amazing to play in comparison to the vanilla characters and some other workshop characters. With a few tweaks this character could be even better than before. Sorry for the wall of text.

His back air is more of an issue, it's like an air version of his forward smash, the strength of it is alright but the stun is long enough for them to bounce off the ground and still be in hit stun long enough to hit the blast zone. The hit-stun should be reduced significantly and maybe an adjustment for the hitbox and angle to be a bit more inwards. Down smash needs a slight buff in knockback, otherwise it's fine. Up smash needs a bit of a lower hitbox trim while the upper hitbox should probably be slimmed down to his head. His smash attacks being made cancellable could work pretty well for his combo game.Kyo's side B has a problem with linking a lot of the time, it could be made a bit faster or have some kind of weak dragging effect so people don't fall out. Some of the follow ups are borderline useless, a lot of the time they can just roll right out and punish you, specifically the weak hikigane follow-ups. There's no reason to use them. (Part 2)

Sorry to leave a comment twice, but I'd like to give some feedback on Kyo. A few of his moves launch too far away for him to get another hit in. Especially neutral air, up air and up tilt which doesn't feel good at all because his range is stubby. Feels more like he just gets stray hits in rather than actually using combos. Against characters with a bit more range, it's like you have nothing going for you apart from throwing out strong moves hoping they die early, which isn't fun for any player. It gives him a lopsided kind of feel where you cycle the same 4 moves and occasionally something else to be effective.

Kyo's forward smash is way too big for how active it is and how long it stuns, it feels pretty cheap to edgeguard with because it's practically a free kill. The hitbox for it should be resized to be smaller and have a hit-stun reduction. (Part 1)

The character is pretty well made but i just can't focus due to the fact that a mishima is screaming me at the ear, i would preefer it without the voice lines. And yes, i know that he can be muted but everytime i find someone in casual who play it they don't turn it off

I've also had the opponent fall out of or be able to parry in between the start up of any successive f-special rekka that isn't followed up by another side input (which certain cpus will always parry given the chance; so basically only the strings branching off from side>side true combos, not side>down. Next critique are the normals, they are way too shrimpy, mainly all the neutral jabs, plus they push the opponent further away making it harder to combo into the rest of the tilts, including the diagonal up one; which btw is way too slow on start up and needs too stun a few frames longer. I think the up tilt launch angle should send the opponent straight up, not up an away giving you no follow ups but also not being a kill attack. Consider making his down tilt the attack that stuns a lot for follow ups too.

I really want to like this Kyo since the sprite work and all that are transferred to rivals in the perfect way, but the technical side is stopping me. Stuff like the excessive end lag on certain attacks like both versions of his N-special; the ground version is too basic to keep you stuck for that long, same for the air version, that should at least be a big disjointed hitbox that's good for kills or conversions since it's not a projectile, it sends them nowhere and leaves you in endlag forever. I'd say the Levi mod from George seinfeld which does this bit with Terry Bogard is a good reference.

Thank you so much for making a good kof character for rivals, especially one that is really in-depth like this kyo. Though one suggestion is to lower the volume, the voicelines are VERY loud. Lovely character though, keep up the good work.

This is a good fighter, but I think his voice and sfx are way too loud. If you ever update it, could you please consider lowering the volume?

One of the best KOF works we've gotten so far for ROA, im very impressed. I think however, theres a few things that are keeping him back from being even better. I think with all of his ground lights and strongs outside of his running light attack could be speed up to be a tad bit faster and maybe a little less stubbier to make them feel better. I think also with his 100 shiki.oniyaki is that it could carry more horizontal momentum to work better as a recovery tool. I understand that it has some stoppage to mimic how it is in KOF however, I think for a platform fighter itd be a little nicer that way. I think also with the RED kick it'd be better too if it had more horizontal movement so it feels more like the source and less like a weird secondary spike to go a long side the genshiki.tsurubeotshi. Either way man fantastic work im looking foward to seeing you do more :steamthumbsup:
