This has been updated for PlateUp! 1.2.0. (Now that i actually pushed and tested it ':)

MONSTERDROID, I'm not currently planning to add settings, but that would be cool to maybe add eventually.

Any chance you plan on adding additional settings for it? like dash distance, dash speed, or a stamina meter?

I like it but really wish I could tweak it to be a slightly slower speed & have a stamina meter to be less of a "Just hold this button" type of thing.

Mod's great! though, even with ping beam disabled through the mod setting, the game still shows a ping beam for a frame or few when tapping the ping/dash button.

Hello, I updated PrepGhost with partial compatibility with the dash ping mod :O

Thank you for taking the time to check out the conflict and reply, I appreciate you

It looks like it's the speed feature in prepghost conflicting with this mod. Instead of just changing the speed to fast/normal when entering/exiting the prep phase, it's modifying the speed after every single player update, which immediately overwrites the temporary speed boost provided by this mod.

Just taking a quick glance at prepghost's code, it looks like it might be a non-trivial change to make them compatible. I created an issue in prepghost's repo to see if its author can make changes on their end.

For now, I'd recommend using "Noclip during prep" instead, if you want the ability to be a ghost during prep and to be dashing during the day.

I installed prepghost tonight and found that it did indeed break this mod. It looks like the "noclip during prep" mod is compatible. I'll see if there's anything I can do on my end to resolve the issue with prepghost..

Awesome, thanks for following up. I've seen on the discord that there have been a lot of people having problems with prepghost, after the latest update. Hopefully it gets fixed soon. :D

I just checked, it's prepghost that's messing up dash ping

Are there any errors in your log?
Pineapple Jan 19, 2023 @ 9:25pm
It doesn't work anymore :(

Absolutely amazing and thank you so much

Thanks King; happy holidays and new year to you too!

I just pushed an update with a setting in the mod preferences menu to show/hide the ping marker. I believe it will only work if you're hosting, playing solo, or if the host has the mod and has their setting set to "hide".

thank you for your work, people like you make this world a better place. Happy holidays and a happy new year

Hmm, well, I've managed to disable it a few different ways, but only in ways that seem to work if you're the host/if the host has it disabled/if you're playing solo, which is not what I expected. :steamsad: I'll probably clean it up and test a bit more and release that, at least.
King Cash Dec 25, 2022 @ 5:58am
that would be perfect if you could turn off the ping effect locally
blarglebottoms  [author] Dec 24, 2022 @ 8:41pm
I can probably add an option to disable everyone's ping markers on your local client. Other people would still see it. Would that work?
KnyteGaming Dec 24, 2022 @ 8:34pm
Would there be any way for it to also disable ping marker as well, I really don't use it much compared to dashing.

This has been updated. It now looks for the actual button that each player has ping mapped to, so it should work regardless of controller type, even if you've changed the mapping in game.

Let me know if this doesn't work for you!

Thanks for the fast and detailed response. I'll try to recreate with a PS4 controller later and hopefully figure something out.
dinoinsanity Dec 22, 2022 @ 5:26pm
I use a ps5 controller and it uses the grab button which is the X button instead of what is the default Ping button which is the Circle button.
blarglebottoms  [author] Dec 22, 2022 @ 5:24pm
Interesting. It maps to the ping button on my xbox controller. What kind of controller are you using?

I can look into making it customizable.
dinoinsanity Dec 22, 2022 @ 5:12pm
It would be helpful if users could switch which button was used for this. When using a controller it doesnt use the Ping button it uses the Grab one.
