I'm not sure what meltdown preview is.
New incoming update? I'll most likely get to it once it gets released. Right now mod works well with actual stable version.

alright, sorry but yestarday we didnt manage to get some free time togheter to try out if it works, but im going to say, that it now works, thank you for fixing it, love your work!
oh i get ya, as a modder my self for other games, i feel ya, you do a small update that fixes some bugs, boom everything broke without you touching anything, so you waste hours to figure out why its not working to then figure out you missed something really stupid, that happen to me so many times.

I'm trying to keep it up despite everything that is going on right now, it's just sometimes stuff stops working for mysterious reasons :(
will try as soon my other friend comes back from work, will let you know if it woks, sorry for bothering so much, its just we love this mod and we dont want to play without it.

well the thing is, its not only saves for me, but also like getting in a lobby togheter, that keep saying that its incompatible.

This update changes so very little :/
I assume you guys have a savegame for your game?

If so, try the following:
- unsub from mod, both of you
- launch the game and load the save
- build whatever, like a piece of armor
- save and quit
- download the mod again and load the save.

Perhaps some data got stored in savegame that causes compatibility issues. Purging mod from save game should remove this data. Sure your ship will turn into swiss cheese, but this is something easily fixable after mod is enabled again.

and before you ask yes we did try unsub and deleting and everything else, it just doesnt let use play togheter, and says its incompatible

Have you both tried to unsubscribe to the mod, delete it from steamapps and re-download?

Sometimes steam updates mods incorectly :/

I did some testing. We turned the mod off and our games worked again. The previous games were incompatible, but it would not bring up a mod list or tell what mod was missing.

There is a chance that older version of this mod made it's way back onto steam with last update.
I had a hdd crash after changing laptops, so I may have messed up some things.

Can you ping me in 2 days? I'll upload a fix.
In the meantime if you go to turret_flak_cannon_large.rules file - open with notepad++ - and remove two blocks:
** BlockedTravelCellDirections
** BlockedTravelCells
You will be free of this crash. I've reported it to Walt long ago as this is game issue, but they didn't seem to put a very high priority on it :/

Recently, I started playing this game again. After more than 10 hours of ship building and intense firefights, I discovered similar crash problems that had been reported before. (Path collapse caused by anti-aircraft guns)

So, it seems like it works. I shot at my own ship to test it, but it only works against enemy ships, so I assumed it didn't. Sorry for the inconvenience. :)

It should. Possibly there is some copy-paste from vanilla flak error.

I do have one problem though. The Flak Turret deals no damage to ship parts. Do you know why?

Wow, quite a story! Well you did a good job with paint.net splicing together assets to make a good turret. Fits right in and I wasnt looking forward to trying to do that myself... :-)

Sure thing, man :) I usually use in-game assets only and release these as "free to use" because I don't want to be involved in Meph case in any way.

FYI: Meph was the guy who created Masterwork Dwarf Fortress modpack and launcher. At a time his version was the only playable version of the game out there. Buuuut... he used somebodys graphics w/o permission. He did removed it, after receiving complain, buuut... many years later he was offered to work on graphics for Steam release of DF. And complain resurfaced, even tho it was years old, and Meph lost his job.

I'm an ex game-dev, and my adventure with AAA ended almost ten years ago. I don't want anyone to potentially loose their chance at becoming successful in the field because of some paint.net graphics I did as a creative outlet. Learning modding is a good way of learning about game dev, that's how I started anyway. And boy, oh boy, in the current state of gamedev, we could use some good independent studios... :)

Hey, thanks for being cool about using your assets! Your turrets look really nice and I stole them for my latest fighter plasma turret which does damage over time. (and crashes due to bug...)
