It just starts rolling slowly somewhere during the step 3 procedures, completely ignoring the brake or position valves.

No it does not require any additional mods, its all plain vanilla game parts. It might be a bit off center of the track as it was made in the monkey brain train workbench, but that is not a problem as you should be able to center it yourself with the moving tool. Besides that, I have no idea what is going on. Try to open a new vehicle file in editor, delete the starting white block and manually paste the loco into the area via the cutting tool by selecting to load it.

I already tried. Other things work, but like everyone I span one of yours, it’s spawns right beside the tracks. But only with yours. Does this require some other mods or something else?

I've done some testing and well I have bad news. I tested all my things on different rail spawns, both my saved and workshop versions, and everything spawned normally except the obviously oversized ones like ET42 or EN57, but that's normal. I don't have any idea what may be causing the issue for you. You should check if this is related to my stuff only or is it a thing for all creations. Also, check if your game files are intact. I don't know what more you could do. Something like that has never happened to me before.

So I tried spawning in the train via workshop, and it didn’t work. Do I need to spawn it in as a mission?

Yeah, now I know what you exactly mean. I knew from the beggining that they are getting stuck on some spawns, but to be honest, there isn't much I can do about it, beside adding a pantographs disable button for tunnels and other specific situations like those shed spawns on camodo or spycakes etc. And I probably will do it, but in a really far future, as it is not my current focus. Anyway, thanks for pointing that out :))

On some spawnpoints if you raise the pantograph and then drive forward, the pantograph will hit the upper frame of train yard building. Try this out at Camodo train yard.
