I'll look into it, thanks for letting me know. Btw, this mod is basically replaced by the Ultra Historical Research and Education mod, so I probably won't be updating it too much.

What needs updating @Wicked?
Wicked Feb 6, 2023 @ 4:10pm
Please update
Emmersion Jan 19, 2023 @ 4:39am
Nice mod, in vanilla you can usually finish the entire tech tree before the turn of the century.
Caesar15  [author] Dec 14, 2022 @ 9:51am
Bad news all, this doesn’t work with the new patch. I’ll try to update it later tonight.
Caesar15  [author] Nov 29, 2022 @ 10:32pm
No problem, glad there was improvement :D
crGrc Nov 21, 2022 @ 2:38pm
Thanks for the latest update - my recent game as Japan was (a little) unrealistically difficult due to the previous settings.
Caesar15  [author] Nov 21, 2022 @ 11:41am
Just made an update, check out the description or change notes for details.
Caesar15  [author] Nov 21, 2022 @ 9:42am
@Stubb On a second lookthrough, I can see there's actually some conflicts. He changes universities production methods to make the AI value them more. I'm actually going to push out a new update today that changes a few things, one of which might be reverting universities back to normal. This would also have the effect of removing the conflict with AroAI.
Caesar15  [author] Nov 20, 2022 @ 7:16pm
@Karnich As far as I know, game rules don't work like that, you can only apply modifiers to them.

@donblas :D

@Stubb It should be, I'm not really sure what he changed but it doesn't like anything directly conflicts. He has an interesting way of handling research that I don't fully understand.

@Ethan Ideally yeah.
Commissioner Jean Claude Van Dan Nov 20, 2022 @ 6:10pm
@Ethan not when I play them.

I have this mod and another one, should prevent great qing from rapidly modernizing and spiraling out of control.
Stubb Nov 14, 2022 @ 3:21pm
Any idea how this works with AroAI's new changes to universities?
donblas Nov 12, 2022 @ 10:26am
This mod is amazing, thank you for all of the hard work.
Karnich Nov 10, 2022 @ 11:45am
would it be possible to get a game option that equalizes all nations tech trees at the start?
Caesar15  [author] Nov 9, 2022 @ 12:37am
Well the thing is @WASP is that universities represent the cutting edge, while tech spread represents keeping with the times. Universities are supposed to get you the latest tech ahead of your enemies. That's what innovation is. Tech spread is totally separate. An educated and wealthy population keeps you from being behind, yes, but you need a well funded university system to remain on the cutting edge, and IMO that makes sense. And if your people are poor and illiterate, you would need to have double, or even triple the universities just to stay ahead. Really just represents how much research is done by government v.s private actors.
Vantila Nov 9, 2022 @ 12:00am
Thanks, I decided to subscribe after seeing v.5 changes. Base should be low, isolation should be even lower, universities shouldn't be too high because unis are not innovation factories and literacy tech spread should be high. Most efficient way to have high tech progress should be by keeping a wealthy and highly educated population. Universities shouldn't be tech factories.
Caesar15  [author] Nov 6, 2022 @ 10:12pm
Of course!
Stubb Nov 6, 2022 @ 10:07pm
@Caesar15 Thank you for the reply and your work!
Caesar15  [author] Nov 6, 2022 @ 9:01pm
And that's with the AI mod
Caesar15  [author] Nov 6, 2022 @ 9:01pm
@Stubb The great powers are good at building universities, but not the other ones.
Stubb Nov 6, 2022 @ 2:34pm
Sounds very promising. Before I add it for my next run (I finished the tech tree in 1922 as Persia for my last one), would anyone mind letting me know how the AI does with this mod? I could see the AI being bad at building universities. I'm also going to use Anbeed's AI mod for my next run. Thank you!
Caesar15  [author] Nov 3, 2022 @ 12:19am
I increased the cap and decreased the base innovation, also increased university output. So it should be possible to research late game techs now, and without breaking the bank.
Caesar15  [author] Nov 2, 2022 @ 8:26pm
@Stardust Good idea, universities seem pretty weak, I'll look into it.
Caesar15  [author] Nov 2, 2022 @ 8:25pm
If you're hitting your cap, I'll go ahead and revert some of the cap changes. Do you think you'd be able to be on schedule with a 25% increase, or more like a 50%?
Caesar15  [author] Nov 2, 2022 @ 8:23pm
@dr_AllCOM3, how's your literacy rate? Do you have enough universities to be hitting your innovation cap?
crispy Nov 2, 2022 @ 4:48pm
Tech is too slow with v4. I didn't have a single tier 5 tech in 1930.
Stardust Nov 2, 2022 @ 2:47pm
Hey @Ceasar15, great mod. After the base innovation change the pace can be good. Have you think about decrease it more maybe and buff Universities? What do you think about it?
Caesar15  [author] Oct 31, 2022 @ 10:04pm
Gotcha, I'll play around with it a little bit and see if it's still too fast for them.
crGrc Oct 31, 2022 @ 3:23pm
It's your mod so it's your call, but I wasn't only thinking of Japan, rather all the "unrecognised" nations which due to the base innovation rate of 50 have an unrealistically easy time catching up with the Western nations.
Caesar15  [author] Oct 31, 2022 @ 3:21pm
@Stardust Thanks :) Hope you like it.
Caesar15  [author] Oct 31, 2022 @ 3:21pm
Don’t get me wrong it’s still much slower, especially with the -40% tech spread from the isolation law. Does it still seem too fast from your POV? I’m open to adjusting it.
crGrc Oct 31, 2022 @ 3:12pm
"It was a little too grating to be an isolated country like Japan." Isn't it supposed to be? Maybe you can compromise by setting base innovation to 35 or 40.
Stardust Oct 31, 2022 @ 11:44am
Great catch, will try in my next campaign,
Caesar15  [author] Oct 31, 2022 @ 11:43am
Just a little bit haha. Let me know you how like it and if it needs to be adjusted. I don't want to make it to where tech is too hard after all.
Megamoerder - Ger Oct 31, 2022 @ 11:38am
Thx for your work. I had the same feeling xD Trenchinf... in 1875 is to OP xD
