Great mod. I've been using it with a Spartan culture revival mod I've slowly been working on. Do you mind if I integrate some of your work into my revival mod? Credited of course (if i ever published it)
Murden  [author] Feb 8, 2023 @ 9:27am
no
HaziTru Feb 8, 2023 @ 3:44am
Can the AI use this ?
Ur_3mp3ror Jan 28, 2023 @ 2:16pm
The trials were called "The Agoge" and spartan males under took it starting at the age of 7, the goal was for them to become strong men or die essentially
Simbach Vazo Jan 18, 2023 @ 4:28pm
I agree with Doc Killer, those sound like good changes to make.

Nice mod, but it would be good this decision to be available only for tribal governments or cultures with certain traditions (as warrior culture for example). Also they should be using nightgowns during the trials, as they are supposed to be almost naked
Brotato Nov 11, 2022 @ 4:16am
Really nice mod, I like the idea of the personality is shaped by the experience. It would be nice if you could also send your wards. I haven't seen AI with the spartan trait so I assume they can't? Would be neat if they could. Regardless, keeping this mod and giving thumbs up. Thanks for putting in the effort to making it.
Mägi Nov 6, 2022 @ 12:12pm
Actually a pretty cool idea. Perhaps it'd be interesting to tie them to cultures that value War, Warriors or Adventure of any kind.
Murden  [author] Nov 3, 2022 @ 8:48am
Yes, the chance to accept does depend on their stats. Let me play around a bit and see the kids stats. I don't remember how high the go as the grow up, and then I will add something in that sense.
Aylice Nov 3, 2022 @ 6:46am
I believe that all kids aren't equals in front of nature, a strong or intelligent one will have, I think, more chances to survive. If they are confident they could have more chances to accept to undergo the trial. Or they could have less chances to accept if they are arrogant for example.
Murden  [author] Nov 2, 2022 @ 9:38pm
heyArisu, no, the chance of death doesn't change based on the kids' stats... do you think it should? this is something I could give some thought to if you feel like it would enhance gameplay
Murden  [author] Nov 2, 2022 @ 9:33pm
Mandalore, yes that is what influenced me the most, but when reading about the Agoge I found it was very different from what I was trying to do. Kids went to the Agoge at 7 and didn't finish until in their late twenties.
Aylice Nov 2, 2022 @ 8:14pm
Hello ! Is the chances of death influenced by the traits of the child ? Like if they have an intelligence or strenght trait, would they have less chance of dying ? Would the prowess also influence the likeliness of death/injuries ? ( 0% death isn't the best idea too, when left in the nature chance is a ressource as well lmao )
Murden  [author] Nov 2, 2022 @ 1:18pm
use: "add_traith athletic" for athetic.
Murden  [author] Nov 2, 2022 @ 1:17pm
Hi Cavve... I debated myself about this and I felt like, although a year in the wild would probably purge the weakness out of someone, it wouldn't necessarily make them stronger. Their survival would depend as much on wits as strength, probably even more so. If you really really want this behaviour, find the file on-agoge-trials-ended.txt in your steam workshop folder and add the following code right before the line 259.

if = {
limit = { NOT = { has_trait = weak } }
add_trait = strong
}
Cavve Nov 2, 2022 @ 10:56am
I like the idea behind the mod. And I will try it when my current ironman run is over. Although I have a combined question+suggestion, are there any chance the child may earn strong or athletic traits if they are not delicate or weak from the start.
Murden  [author] Oct 31, 2022 @ 9:18pm
lmao :D
Trans Bussy Oct 31, 2022 @ 8:39pm
Murden lmao, your replies are deadly:steamthis:
Murden  [author] Oct 31, 2022 @ 5:29pm
Hi Baldilocks, sure, do you want me to make you a sammish too while we're at it?
El Chapo Oct 31, 2022 @ 3:52pm
Hey Murden, can I give you a list of the mods I use and then you can put them in one single mod?
And afterwards, can you translate them too please thank you nice
Murden  [author] Oct 31, 2022 @ 1:40pm
well, he could invade my account, take over 20% of it and threaten to nuke the whole thing if I don't comply.
Roach Oct 31, 2022 @ 1:19pm
@ISRAFIL I want doesn't get. If the author wants to keep them separate, you can't really do anything about that.
ISRAFIL Oct 31, 2022 @ 3:59am
@elcaballero.deandromeda not the best idea
Murden  [author] Oct 30, 2022 @ 7:18pm
Shun of Andromeda 😍
elcaballero.deandromeda Oct 30, 2022 @ 6:18pm
@Israril , how about this:

Take all of @Murden's mods that add a Court Position, for example, and put text documents in a single document, with the same folders.

You'll most likely have to do the same thing with the files located in each mods' localization folders.

Hopefully, this will give you one possible way/starting point of achieving what you want. If it doesn't, then perhaps you're better off leaving things the way they are. :steamthumbsup:
ISRAFIL Oct 29, 2022 @ 10:33pm
Murden not the best idea
Murden  [author] Oct 29, 2022 @ 10:19pm
Steam has an option to create a collection where you can add all the mods you like and people can access your collection and subscribe to all of them in one go. I think this is next best thing, and you can even add other mods that you like to such collection.
ISRAFIL Oct 29, 2022 @ 10:03pm
Murden If I could do that, I wouldn't be asking this question right now.
Murden  [author] Oct 29, 2022 @ 10:00pm
you can do it, if you want, you have my express permission to compile my mods into one and release them as a unit in the workshop, as long as you commit to keep them updated after at least every major game update.
ISRAFIL Oct 29, 2022 @ 9:18pm
@Murden well, I want your mods to be a single whole, plus not every translator will be able to translate all your mini mods.
Murden  [author] Oct 29, 2022 @ 9:07pm
Hi Israfil, I like to have my mods limited in scope, so that people can cherry-pick what they like and what they don't.
ISRAFIL Oct 29, 2022 @ 8:35pm
@Murden can you put all your mini mods in one big mod?
Murden  [author] Oct 29, 2022 @ 7:48pm
The reasoning is, if a kid has ambitions, this is all gone when all he wants is a plate of cooked beans. Like "my kingdom for a horse" kind of situation.
Murden  [author] Oct 29, 2022 @ 7:41pm
You like ambitious?
