The Engine Control mod is the closest you will find to that

This is purely cosmetic, i.e. how the information is displayed. No gameplay effect whatsoever.

hi , question; does this mod allow you to change the actual speed of the boat ? ie; can i choose 6 knots or 12,5 knots ?

Wow, that sounds cool!

The pitometer reading changes a lot though, if there was a way to slow it down so it shows you closer to the average speed it would be great. Or an odometer tool, there was one in the conning tower which used the pit log's speed reading over an electronic integrator to drive a mechanical counter.

Thanks for the info. That should make it an easy update.
With that I'd like to add data sheets so the user can choose choose to exclude any of those other places from having decimal places added, even the telegraph for that matter. Maximum user freedom!
That would also allow for the user to change the format specifier and display additional decimal places if so desired.

I've had it that way since B129 and there have been no issues

I specifically chose not to do that because I didn't want to cause unintended consequences.

In theory it should be fine and at some point I may update this mod with options to apply it to other areas, but that would require going through each other 10 uses and making sure they are working.
The UI might be able to deal with that without issue but it's also possible that in one or more of those places it causes overlapping or cut-off text.

Amazing!

Try overriding KilometersPerHourToPreferredUnits, it will show every speed with a decimal! There are no downsides!

Great mod, as all of the recent additions to the author's workshop (check'em all out!).

In vanilla if you use knots, you can't tell at a glance if the sub is speeding up or slowing down unless it's a dramatic acceleration / deceleration.

Coupled with Real Navigation, this also helps a lot for historical methods of acquiring target data, such as constant bearing, that require the sub to have a constant speed and decimal points in own speed measurement make a non-trivial difference in the calculations.

Great work, thanks sq_paradox!!!
