yes this is known. i was unable to figure out exactly how to prevent hit increase on any type of mantle break for lost and t lost.

@Marco you are able to disable the changing text if you go to the MCM menu and turn off easter eggs setting. The color however I did not have a setting for.

@GamingGeoduck Found another type of damage that ticks the counter but isn't considered enemy damage: the damage you take when using a Bad Trip pill. Please fix at your earliest convenience. 🐭

@GamingGeoduck Hey, just got confirmation from a few players that, as expected, damage from mimic chests does not count as "enemy damage", but it does increment the hit counter (and none of the other damage that doesn't count as "enemy damage" does, so I think your intent is to only count enemy damage instances).

Please fix. :)

Actually you gave me an idea. Its not gonna be as clean as just typing it in but it will potentially save it across updates and be all contained in game to make the titles.

And if I update the mod it will wipe the text but I don't know much else I can update about this mod, so if anything the updates will be sparse and you won't have to replace it often. My current plan is to have 4 slots that you can edit as you see fit so you can toggle between the ones you changed in the code. I can put more slots if need be also.

@Clef the Mouse The thing is that i am very new to this coding. I don't know how to possibly achieve this kind of stuff most of the time. Additionally translating what da rules does to an MCM format that retains the information seems like it is quite an in depth thing without an example to refer to. Especially because there are 39,000+ lines of code in da rules that i would need to scrub though to find out how it is done. If you can find an example of someone using text input in MCM and point me to it then I will gladly give it a look and attempt to implement it.

I've input text in-game while using the search function etc. of the Da Rules mod, so maybe you can look at that to see how to go about it, instead of having to structure the code such that it'd need to be changed itself (which I think would also undo itself anytime the mod is updated, right?)

@Clef the Mouse I will definitely fix the spacing thing you mentioned.

As for the removing easter eggs thing, I considered doing that and it just slipped my mind before the last update. I'll attempt to do that.

For the custom prefix im not certain if one can put text in mcm or not, but what i can try to do is add 4 different slots where you can edit the code yourself and change the text to what you want so you can at least have some personal presets to toggle between when needed.

A few feature requests:

1. Could you add a toggle in MCM to disable the 'easter eggs'? (there's a missing space in the "Nice" string, by the way... :P)

2. Could you add the ability in MCM to specify a custom prefix? Some might prefer to specify what it says--I personally would probably abbreviate it a bit to "Hits: " or maybe "R Key'd: " while streaming an R Key challenge run. :)

@cheeky mf ッ just updated the mod to allow for mcm adjusting so hopefully that fixes your issue.
@spicybullfrog first thank you. For the spiked chest I'll look into fixing that but not 100% on how to do that. As for the holy card issue I am aware of it. A similar case would occur if you were to have holy mantle on any other character. I'm am uncertain how to fix this in an efficient way so for the time being it is noted but no set time of fixing.

this mod is unironically better than the way the game tracks hits in vanilla because it doesnt forget that youve ever taken a hit if you use genesis or esau jr

opening spike chests seems to add a hit to the run despite it being considered self-damage for devil deals and not incurring a score penalty. I also discovered holy card hits don't count as hits if you're not playing either of the losts.

I've never messed with mod config menu or the likes of that so I'll need to look into that for the position adjusting. As for the using conception code as a counter, as far as I know actual item functionality is not accessible to modders. So I can't really look into the code of it and determine that. I could be completely wrong about this since I am new to modding this game. Finally thank you!

isn't there an in game counter, since cambion conception works with a counter I presume, couldn't you find it in the files and just display it's amount? This is pretty much the biggest use you get out of the mod. Also having a way to move with x and y axis would be appreciated, thanks. Good work tho!

maybe the next step for this mod can be on the death screen you can press a button to view how many times you were hit by that enemy, the room layouts you were hit, etc

Hey! wondering how this would work in coop, would it be shared, only be for player 1, or would they both get their own hit counter?
