im playing on NYCgmod map, i try to use the mod, but it wont work for me. oddly enough it works for both of my friends, it only doesnt work for me. i disabled everything except for this mod and the map and yet still nothing...

@Archie, I believe amd gpus particularly seem to have this as an amplified problem, if you play around with the depth bias you might be able to achieve better settings. Otherwise it's not an issue I can fix unfortunately.

@Unfortunate it should just look like that if you have shadow quality in gmod's advanced video settings set to high. If there is no high option, gmod thinks your gpu is not powerful enough, however you can still force the high option to show up if you use these launch options: "-force_vendor_id 0x10DE -force_device_id 0x1180"

is there a way to have the maps shadows just go away without editing a maps light_environment itself to have a name and im not talking about mat_fullbright
for example on gm_bigcity turning up the sun brightness kinda remedies it but is there a better option

yeah its a hardware thing, you can force enable shadows with the following launch option

-force_vendor_id 0x10DE -force_device_id 0x1180

running this on my thinkpad t450, shadows wont load?
a strange bug but i'll pass it off as my hardware.

gmod is running at max graphics at 640 x 480

Привет! Если тени исчезают, это значит, что Garry's Mod автоматически ограничил качество теней до "среднего", потому что считает, что ваш компьютер слишком старый для более высоких настроек (возможно, это также причина падения FPS — попробуйте "режим производительности", когда всё заработает).

Вы можете вручную обойти это ограничение, добавив в параметры запуска следующее:
"-force_vendor_id 0x10DE -force_device_id 0x1180"

После этого вы сможете зайти в раздел «Дополнительное видео» на вкладке «Видео» в настройках и установить «Качество теней» на «Высокое».
