Thank you for the change! I think just changing it to assimilation is a much better idea in the long run, it gives a lot more control over how we want our empires to change. Also for my bug, normally the synthetic evolution project converts the portraits of the leaders to the new robot species, but this previous version did not.

Thanks for testing this out. I'm pretty new to modding Stellaris and didn't realize how buggy this was. I fixed a bunch of issues and updated the mod so it should work as intended.

The one big change I made is that the Discretionary policy doesn't change pops or leaders at all, you have to use assimilation to modify species.

@Electrochemical Alchemist I think the issue with the leader portraits is actually a bug in vanilla? In the leader recruitment window the leader portraits don't change for me until I recruit a new leader. Was that what you were seeing?

If you could get this working properly it would be a really nice addition, great idea!

Doesn't quite work as intended, but I appreciate this! I've wanted to work on a similar project and it's good to see it's possible. From my testing, it seems like 'optional' converts all pops while leaving the leaders alone. Discretionary seems to convert everyone, however the leaders don't change portraits. I did not test compulsory, but this is a good start for the concept!
