With trade fundamentally changing in Stellaris 4.0 on Monday, I do NOT plan on updating this mod. In my opinion, this mod works because it is easy to see, simple to use, and thematic. I currently do not see a way to satisfy all 3 of those conditions in the new route-less trade mechanics.

I might return to the idea in the future, but if I do, it will likely be completely different and uploaded as a separate mod.

As with all my mods, anyone is welcome to update and re-upload.

I saw the mention of the "star deposit" and thought it was something extra that was in this mod.

Also note that the modifier is added/updated monthly, so you might need to wait until the start of next of the month if you just made the commercial pact

@Illutian load order doesn't matter for this mod. Real Space is fine too.
It sounds like you might be looking for the Cross Border Trade "planet" modifier on a colony, but it is added to the star

Hmm...is there a way to test if the mod is being loaded?

Neither of my two worlds which border an AI empire I have a Commercial Pact with have this mods planet modifier (stocks graph in the screenshot).

I've moved the mod down to the bottom of the list...which I think is suppose to be last to load.

Don't think I'm missing anything to trigger it (ie special starbase module).
Don't run any "total conversion" mods, either. ...Unless Real Space is considered one.

It seems so yeah! The game's tooltip is decieving as it takes all trade into account. That being said it's a very nice bonus for friendly empires. Love it.

(Clarification: this mod only adds those border star "deposits". It doesn't change anything else with trade value or commercial agreements, so something else is responsible for your very high trade income.)

Thanks, good info, I really appreciate it! So if I understand correctly, it sounds like less than 200 of your 7k trade is coming from Cross Border Trade? (Less than 3%) That seems reasonable to me. "A nice bonus but not a significant portion of your economy" is what I'm aiming for.

So i have a total of 7 points bordering with other empires. I forgot to mention that there's another empire close to me a fanatic xenophilic/pacifist merchant guild, agrarian police state migratory flock. I met them around l50 years in. Anyway currently my largest checkpoint gives +66 (8x3 technology/systems hyper relay bonus+100, long term +75 the rest 0). The rest hover around 14 with two being at 22.

Thanks! Do you have a sense of how much of your trade is from cross border trade? Not a precise number, just a rough guess.

"One empire was a trade league..." I wonder their network is really big, and then you're getting a big bonus for trading with them. If you hover over one of the cross border trade "planet modifiers" on the star of the border system, you can see a breakdown of where the value comes from (like the screenshot on this workshop page)

Am currently at year 2414 and trade alone gives me 7.3k energy. That is however after being friends with everyone in the galaxy and being the custodian.

I finally played humans (UNE). My version has fanatic egalitarians, xenophile with beacon of liberty and diplomatic corps. Went with the friendly federation origin. Both empires spawned close but allowed all of us to grow semi wide. One empire was a trade league with trading posts, private prospectors and free traders (egalitarian, xenophile, materialist). The other fanatic xenophile and peaceful with shadow council, astrometeorology and vaults of knowledge. Since our ethics matched perfectly meaking deals was stupid easy. Built a few trade outposts close by and then snowballed from there. At no point did i aim to go for economy lol. I went basically full unity.

Absolutely love the idea. Kinda goes hard on balance though! Maybe i did something right but over time i managed to get like 4k energy per month!

@Wei this mod adds trade value to the stars of systems bordering other empires (if you have a commercial pact). You then collect that trade value using the normal (domestic) trade route mechanics.

I don't see trade routes crossing borders, but maybe I'm misunderstanding what the mod does and it only does bonuses to trade value and not making trade routs to other empires?

@AltoidsMaximus Yeah, you can use Irony to patch that part back to vanilla. You might want to check if that mod does anything else related trade though (for example, does it change trade hubs on starbases?)
