@Chincha, it's not in the base game yet, so it's still needed. Use the compatch . Load both this mod and the compatch after it. The compatch says it is for 1.16 but it still works in 1.18. I have it near the top of my playset.

Works fine here with Lance. I've placed it last in load order of nearly 70 mods, just followed by the Title-Ranked Portrait Borders Patch. It gave my current collection the final bling. Love it. This one is a jewel!

I just wanted to leave a comment here. Thank you VERY VERY much for this mod. This is one of THE key mods for CK3 for me. Do you have any plans on expanding this?

@Morven You might need to investing this. Under the Relationship tab, the Friends and Rival portraits do not animate. The Ward portraits do.

There might be some changes in the code or additions to the code PDX gave us in 1.7. I did notice that with portrait border mods, where was some addition code add for them.

This is the new code I am using for the 0_portraits.gui or the portraits.gui, in this fix:

I do not know if that code I am using is relevant to your mod, just trying to help.

I still fill PDX needs to add this to CK3. In Stellaris, every portrait is animated in some way, that adds to immersion. Plus by having officially added by PDX, it would be compatible with most mods.

Hey mate I got your message, that's fine if you want to integrate any of my mods (or use them as a starting point) into Godherja. I think it's a lot easier with big overhaul mods like yours to integrate and tailor them to the overhaul rather than attempt and maintain compatibility patches. A small acknowledgment somewhere is good form, but it doesn't have to be prominent.

It's weird because there are times when hundreds of characters are also listed, like when you're looking for a wife, and the fps don't go down, only when I choose a guardian

I don't have this mod installed yet but I do have that performance issue as well when choosing a guardian. I think it has something to do with the hundreds of characters available because when I filter to, for example, show only genius characters, the fps returns to normal.

Each persons set up will be different, for some there may very well be a performance cost like what you experienced. It's up to you, 10 fps of animated fury, or 120 fps of modest stillness and humility; and likewise for everyone, check what the fps cost is for you and decide whether it's worth it for your set up. Personally I didn't notice much, if any, of a performance hit, but it makes sense that animating more portraits will have a performance cost.

I have a problem with this mod, every time I try to educate a child and the list of guardians is opened, the fps drops from 120 to 10. After deactivating the mod the fps go down but not in such a drastic way

Yeah achievements will be disabled. As I understand Paradox only enable 'gfx' folder modding with achievements, which are only graphics assets. Any of the scripting/coding as to how 'gfx' assets or text are displayed, like this mod does, are handled in 'gui' files, which are not achievement compatible. I suppose you could get the game to display things you ought not be able to see or know about by gui modding. For me I couldn't play any Paradox game without tweaking or fixing things or adding in custom code to deal with situations as they arise, which is how a lot of my mods start out.
