hey my dude, I wanted to thank you for correcting the "borders of Portugal" as well being Portuguese and knowing that was wrong I was being kinda picky .

Sorry I abandoned this mod for a while. The 1.6 update massively conflicted with this mod for obvious reasons, so I was putting off updating it. I finally got round to reconciling all the changes though. Let me know if you have any issues.

Does this mod make the AI more likely to actually take the decisions mentioned/somewhat push back the Umayyads and their vassals?

Instead of renaming Hispania to Spain; you should instead make a decision that forms the kingdom of Spain as a kingdom title and integrates all modern Spanish territories into that new one, of course getting rid of the unified kingdom of Castile and all other Spanish kingdom. Therefore, you are left with the kingdom of Spain. Unless you had a kingdom title out of Iberia. I'd be happy to help with this too. Just give me a heads up. Good luck bud!

"If you want to do a Visigoth run, the same rules apply for preventing the culture shift as were in CK2. The top leige must be Visigoth and hold either an Empire title or 2 Kingdom titles OR the religious head must be Visigoth. This can be easy to acheive with an Asturias start."

Is there a date that a decision appears? Or does this work differently?

I just found this mod after not being able to remain Visigothic despite controlling 100% of Visigothic counties, PDX is so frustrating. About to start a new save with this, thank you!

I have restarted a game, when I create the Kingdom of Galicia, the decision to unite the thrones of Spain appears and the decisions to create the kingdom of Leon and form Portugal disappear.
Meighallo Feb 27, 2022 @ 10:11pm
@Herby247, the tributaries/suzerain mechanics could be a great addition to this mod... I just remembered that sometimes muslim taifas of iberian peninsula paid tributes to León, Castilla, etc..
perezveiga Feb 26, 2022 @ 5:25pm
Continuing with the testing of the mod, I have continued with the Kingdom of Asturias until meeting the requirements to unite the thrones of Spain, when making the decision, they have been united without problem, but the heraldic shield of the kingdom, continues to be that of the kingdom of Asturias and it didn't change to the castile one (the one you have in the center of the mod's thumbnail photo) as if it happens when you make this decision in the year 1066. Could you fix this?

Update pelease :)
Herby247  [author] Feb 23, 2022 @ 9:22pm
@perezveiga yeah I looked into it, i meant to set the decision to only work on a start date before 910 (the formation of leon), accidentally set it to current game date instead. Will be fixed in the next patch in a day or two.
perezveiga Feb 23, 2022 @ 7:03pm
I only have the kingdom of Asturias, I can't destroy it because it is my main title, if I start a new game, as king of Asturias, IF the decision to form the Kingdom of León appears, I think there is some bug in the mod.
Herby247  [author] Feb 23, 2022 @ 5:59pm
@perezveiga as in CK2, the decisions require you to not already, hold any kingdom titles (excluding leon). They function as alternate kingdoms for independence movements. I will confirm if the create leon decision is still working.
perezveiga Feb 23, 2022 @ 1:48pm
I started the game in the year 867 with a count, I have conquered all the counties of the Kingdom of Asturias and created the Kingdom of Galicia and the Duchies of Asturias, León, Santiago, Portugale and Coimbra and the decisions to create do NOT appear neither the Kingdom of León, Kingdom of Castile nor form Portugal. If I start a new game moon with the king of Astirias, the option to form the kingdoms of Toledo and León appears.
Meighallo Feb 18, 2022 @ 11:20pm
Purrrfect ;)
Herby247  [author] Feb 18, 2022 @ 10:35am
thanks for offering @Meighallo, I've sent you a FR so we can discuss :)
Meighallo Feb 17, 2022 @ 7:35am
Hi! Contact me if you need help with the spanish locations ;) I don't have any experience at modding this game, so idk where find it, but i'm sure you know the files, or maybe you can send me a text with the lines you need.
The idea of adding some decisions, like create León and Castilla as titular kingdoms feels more accurate for me too... In my opinion, the vanilla's Asturias kingdom depicts an utopic domain, far away from the historical fact...
Herby247  [author] Feb 14, 2022 @ 12:45pm
@Wasabi Cracker I know that you can't create the Kingdom of Toledo with a current save, I can't guarantee the safety of using the rest of the mod, so use at your own risk.

Regarding Beja and Algarve, I won't be adding that as an option I'm afraid as IMO it would bloat the mod. I recommend either using the create Portugal decision once you control those duchies (which will incorporate them as well), or using the steward to incorporate them de jure.
Wasabi Cracker Feb 14, 2022 @ 11:46am
Could you add decisions to reincorporate the missing duchies as portugal if you form it without Beja and Algarve?
Wasabi Cracker Feb 14, 2022 @ 11:41am
is this save-game compatible?
TheLoneWanderer Feb 13, 2022 @ 5:14pm
There is another mod that I have tried --> Totius Hispaniae:Iberia Flavor Decision. However, I am not using it because it touches too many things; innovations, buildings, men at arm. I have many other mod that would conflict with it so I don't use it
TheLoneWanderer Feb 13, 2022 @ 5:10pm
@Herby - yes, as a player it's not a problem, the AI was what I was mentioning.

A reconquista mod sounds great!
Herby247  [author] Feb 13, 2022 @ 4:20pm
@TheLoneWanderer a feature in CK2 that gave christendom a large advantage was the reconquista casus belli, as well as adventurer reconquests.

I might consider making a mod that adds some sort of reconquista advantage, but on my playthrough with this mod I found it very easy to defend against the moors and retake Iberia.

Something simple like an acceptance modifier for requesting money from the pope if your capital is in Iberia might give the AI the advantage they need, which would be very easy to implement.
TheLoneWanderer Feb 13, 2022 @ 1:34pm
@Herby - thank you for the quick response. Even in the 1066 start, the Christian kingdoms fare pretty poorly. Hopefully either Paradox or a modder addresses it (if anyone else besides me feels that it is a problem)
Herby247  [author] Feb 13, 2022 @ 1:31pm
@TheLoneWanderer not really. the AI can create the new kingdom titles too which would allow them more power, but it's unlikely they'll meet the conditions to do so.
TheLoneWanderer Feb 13, 2022 @ 1:03pm
Usually with the 867 start, the Christian realms in Iberia are conquered quite quickly. Does this mod change that? (not saying that it should, I am just curious)
ross Feb 12, 2022 @ 2:39pm
This looks pretty cool, gonna try it out now. I always thought that Iberia in 867 was a bit of a mess.
