also not to mention those 'dreaded 5.8mm' rifle and handgun ammo that they claim is superior to soviet 5.45mm and nato 5.56mm

Yeah, basically.
Also QLB and QLZ for Grenade Launchers, and QTS-11 for their OICW.
Not to mention there are actions other kinds of naming as well, like CS/LS with several SMGs, CS/LR for some sniper rifles, CQ for their NATO weapon clones, and some unique ones like M99 Heavy Anti-Material Sniper Rifle.

you mean like:
QSZ for the handguns
QJB or QBB for the LMGs
QCQ or QCW for the SMGs
QBU for the Snipers
QJZ or QJG for the HMGs
QBS for shotguns
and OF COURSE the typical famous already explained: QBZ for carbines and assault rfiles.

Well QBZ means "Light weapon, Rifle, Automatic" (Qīng Wŭqì, Bùqiāng, Zìdòng) literally, it's just how their weapons are named,
And technically they do acknowledge what happened on June 4th, 1989 on Tiananmen Square, as the "Political Crisis of 1989".
