Sure, if there's clear credit I'm more than happy to give you the go-ahead (making the slithering animation took a fair bit of time and careful effort)!
At the end of the day the sprites I make are made to be used, so I'm happy you like them enough to where you want to use them in your project, even if just as reference.
Unfortunately not really! I have some old art site accounts where I have posted publicly but I just draw for myself mostly (I wanna make big things if I'd post it public, which I plan to eventually!).
You should be able to see some more stuff I've drawn if you search deviantart followed by my name though. Haven't posted in a year but some stuff is there!
Thank you for the kind words :) really puts a big dumb smile on my face to hear.
I think I'd be fine as long as you make it clear I made the OG base sprites and animation, sure!
I don't know what your skin is of course, but I'm usually honored to see any kind of spin on my stuff :>
Really appreciate the ask before going ahead!
It's up to you if you think they look good enough, since I have little experience with the slim Terrarian model, but at least they actually connect to the slim body with the new pack, so it's something at least!
Doing some light testing, it seems pretty doable by just moving a few pixels for each of the tails. I don't really think they look as good as the OG ones here, but that's probably because I'm not used to the slim Terrarian model if anything. I'll probably post something sooner or later, and if I post something, it'll be exclusively linked through the description of these packs, those that you asked this question on.
I'll make a combined pack for all three slim tails (if they end up working well enough after I modify them). Otherwise, stay tuned! I'll post a comment in this thread if I fail or succeed and post something :)
I'll think about it and look some into it, I'm admittedly clueless when it comes to "making my stuff available to download through sites" since I've only used stuff like the steam workshop where it's built-in.
Though, my workshop pack should be available for you to open and tinker around with on your own hard-drive if you've subscribed to it. It's just that getting to the folder that holds my pack is a bit cumbersome. I'd recommend searching for "steam workshop locating files" and researching a bit on your own if you don't want to wait for me creating a Terraria Forum alternative (which I might not do).
Thanks for enjoying the pack though! I'll see if I'll create an alternative download down the line.
Suggestive? Suggestive of what? It's depicting two costumes found in-game, focusing on the longer tails this pack provides. The mermaid presents her tail to the lamia, the lamia peeking over their own tail. The scenario I was going for was some Terrarians having fun with vanity items.
If you want more detail, I wanted something cute for the thumbnail below the animated pixel tails, and since I like Terraria and regularly draw, I thought it'd be a perfect opportunity to try and draw some Terrarians. If you're just wondering why the image itself is in the slideshow, it's because someone asked me to share it before I started posting my art online (so I uploaded it to the slideshow). It is already seen in the thumbnail though and I have posted the art elsewhere now so I'll remove it, after all it was supposed to be temporary.
I hope that answers your questions!
It may work? You'd have to experiment yourself, all I know is the gif to icon trick.
Good luck though!
You mean uploading a workshop item with a gif for its icon? You can do that by making a gif, then manually renaming the gif's filename from ".gif" to ".png". Then it is simply a matter of selecting the file as your image when uploading your workshop item (from the in-game menu, anyway). It's a little finicky but it did end up working for me.
Nope, this doesn't change the Lamia enemy sprite. I considered changing that too before releasing this pack but I knew it would take a lot of extra time and decided against it. Maybe I'll do it sometime in the future though, making an entirely custom enemy sprite does sound fun.
:( That sucks. The only thing I can think of (if other packs are working for you), is that my pack is located "under" one of your other packs, specifically a pack which happens to change the mermaid tail as well (packs above others on the "enabled packs" list takes priority).
I've noticed some packs that alter a thing or two in-game, that still include some of Terraria's base textures, effectively overwriting any other packs that alter those same textures under it. So it could be a pack you didn't expect, too. Unfortunately, if changing priority for my pack to the top doesn't work, I don't know what to do, sorry!
